A semiclassical dynamics simulation study is reported for a trans–cis photoisomerization cycle of four azo compounds, including azobenzene, 2-methylazobenzene, 2,6-dimethylazobenzene, and 2,2′-dimethylazobenzene. For both trans?→?cis and cis?→?trans isomerization processes, each compound is excited by a 50?fs (fwhm) laser pulse with a photon energy leading to a ππ* excitation. It is found that the compound in both cases follows a rotational path from reactant to product and that the isomerization dynamics is significantly affected by substitution. The relative times for completing a trans–cis isomerization cycle for four compounds, 2,6-dimethylazobenzene?>?2,2-dimethylazobenzene and 2,6-dimethylazobenzene?>?2-methylazobenzene>?azobenzene, follow the same order as for the photoinduced formation of the surface relief grating of polymers based on these four compounds. The simulation results provide a basis for understanding the surface relief grating formation of azobenzene-based materials upon irradiation with laser beams.  相似文献

Two fabrication methods of surface relief electro-optic (EO) gratings in azo-polymer films are described: surface deformation by a continuous wave laser and laser ablation by a pulse laser. In the fabrication process, the periodic intensity modulation of laser beams is formed by an interference fringe or a phase mask. The surface relief EO grating is fabricated by poling the surface relief grating (SRG) after the SRG fabrication process. The linear dependence of an applied voltage in the modulation efficiency of the first-order diffraction beam is observed. The proposed methods are effective for highly-efficient surface relief EO grating fabrication.  相似文献

The formation of surface relief grating on dye-doped polymer film with the interface of nematic liquid crystals has been investigated by means of the holographic technique. The first-order diffraction efficiency of surface relief grating depends on the temperature and the orientation of molecular director in the interface of nematic liquid crystals. The diffraction efficiency is roughly independent of thermal fluctuations of molecular director in the most part of nematic temperature range and apparently drops near the transition temperature. The morphology of surface relief grating demonstrates that the surface modulation is larger for molecular director parallel to the groove direction. The experimental result also shows that the first-order diffraction efficiency is dependent on the surface modulation of surface relief grating.  相似文献

本文采用麦克斯韦(Maxwell)方程微分积分方程对波长尺寸的梯形反射光栅在TE模式(横向电场)偏振状态入射下,进行严格理论的计算和分析.表面电场计算表明,光栅刻槽斜边边界对于金属材料金和铝光栅表面电场分布具有明显效应,对于入射波长为λ=1.0μm附近的红外区域,金材料具有强烈的金属特性,此时表面电场的斜边边界效应更加明显.表面电场及其远场衍射效率伴随刻槽深度变化,而振荡特性进一步阐明了此效应对近,远场的作用.该方程适用于任意形状光栅或单一散射体对任意入射方向,任意偏振态的衍射和散射问题.  相似文献

本文利用原子力显微镜原位研究Mn79.5Fe15.6Cu4.9反铁磁高温形状记忆合金在升降温过程中与马氏体相变相关的表面起伏特征, 同时采用X射线衍射、动态热机械分析等实验检测手段辅助分析其微观组织结构演化, 从纳米尺度分析面心立方–面心四方结构相变及表面浮突产生的物理机理. 实验结果表明: 在升降温过程中观察到帐篷型表面浮突, 由面心立方–面心四方马氏体逆相变产生的, 即母相浮突, 这与通常观测到的马氏体浮突不同; 实验证实面心立方–面心四方马氏体逆相变具有切变特征, 马氏体孪晶的逆向切变是产生帐篷型表面浮突的主要机理; 测得逆孪晶切变的浮突角小于1°, 远小于传统形状记忆合金的表面浮突角值, 这是由于面心立方母相与面心四方马氏体相结构差异较小造成的; 表面浮突随温度变化具有极好的可逆性, 这是马氏体相变晶体学可逆性决定的, 表明该合金具有优良的表面形貌记忆效应.  相似文献

We propose a new type of hollow-core fiber where the propagation is ensured by a photoinduced self-pattern acting as a surface relief grating (SRG). The SRG is written by launching a suitable laser beam with proper polarization in a capillary glass fiber with the inner surface previously coated with an azopolymer thin film. Such a grating acts as a wavelength/angle dependant reflective mirror and enhances the confinement and the propagation of the light.  相似文献

A surface-relief grating is a key element in optical communication and opto-electronic integrated devices. To date, many techniques for fabricating surface-relief gratings have been reported, but the present techniques still have many limitations and disadvantages. In this paper we present a new optical configuration to imprint a surface-relief grating by two-beam interferometry using a femtosecond laser. A relatively simple set-up is proposed in order to generate two parallel laser beams and then focus them by a common focusing lens to obtain an interference pattern. With the use of the common focusing lens, the two parallel beams will interfere exactly at the focal plane. This new optical set-up not only facilitates the alignment but also enhances the tunability to obtain different grating periods. Experimental results on solid copper targets are presented. The grating surface morphologies are studied by a scanning electron microscope and the grating relief profiles are characterized by an atomic force microscope. The prominent experimental results obtained have verified the feasibility of the new technique. In addition, the influence of laser fluence and pulse number on the surface morphology is presented. Surface relief patterns are one of the promising possibilities for the fabrication of liquid crystal (LC) electro-optical devices. Optically recorded surface relief gratings in an acrylamide based photopolymer were filled with the liquid crystal to fabricate liquid crystal diffraction gratings. E49 liquid crystals were used in this work. The switching behaviour of the diffraction grating was investigated by measuring the intensity in the first order when an electric field was applied.  相似文献

为了提高制作偶氮苯微结构的实验技术,在偶氮苯聚合物的光致异构和光致取向特性的基础上,利用两激光束的新实验方案,运用比较简便的分步制作的方法,成功的在偶氮苯功能化聚合物薄膜表面“刻写”出二维的正方格子结构。提出了一个新的光异构取向场理论:在两束偏振方向互相垂直的偏振光照射下,偶氮苯聚合物表面光栅的形成是光异构取向场的干涉的结果,并对实验现象进行了解释。用计算机对实验结果进行了模拟,将模拟结果与实验结果进行了比较,结果表明计算机模拟将会更加有利于偶氮苯聚合物微结构的设计和制作。  相似文献
