A singularly perturbed boundary value problem with weak nonlinearity in the case when the degenerate equation has a multiple root is studied. The asymptotic approximation of the solution is constructed by the modified boundary layer function method. Based on the comparison principle, there exist multizonal boundary layers in the neighborhood of the endpoints. The existence of a solution is proved by using the method of asymptotic differential inequalities.  相似文献

The initial boundary value problem for a nonlinear singularly perturbed integro-parabolic equation is examined. An asymptotic expansion of the solution to this problem containing the temporal, spatial and corner boundary layers is constructed. In the framework of the recently developed asymptotic models for tibio-femoral contact incorporating frictionless elliptical contact interaction between thin elastic, viscoelastic, or biphasic cartilage layers, we apply an asymptotic modeling approach for analytical evaluating the sensitivity of crucial parameters in joint contact mechanics due to small variations in the thicknesses of the contacting cartilage layers. The four term asymptotic expansion for the normal displacement at the contact surface is explicitly derived, which recovers the corresponding solution obtained previously for the 2D case in the compressible case. It was found that to minimize the influence of the cartilage thickness non-uniformity on the force–displacement relationship, the effective thicknesses of articular layers should be determined from a special optimization criterion.  相似文献

The asymptotic behavior of the solution with boundary layers in the time-independent mathematical model of reaction–diffusion–advection arising when describing the distribution of greenhouse gases in the surface atmospheric layer is studied. On the basis of the asymptotic method of differential inequalities, the existence of a boundary-layer solution and its asymptotic Lyapunov stability as a steady-state solution of the corresponding parabolic problem is proven. One of the results of this work is the determination of the local domain of the attraction of a boundary-layer solution.  相似文献

The problem of diffraction by a planar junction of thin layers covering a perfectly conducting substratum is considered, and its asymptotic solution is constructed. The wave field in the vicinity of the junction of the layers is described by a function of the boundary layer. Based on the asymptotics obtained, the generalized impedance boundary condition, which simulates thin layers, and the contact conditions are derived. The bending, under plane stress state conditions, of a two-layer beam-strip with identical isotropic linearly elastic layers with non-rigid contact between them is considered. The effect of the contact interaction between the layers, simulated by an elastic or elastoplastic gasket of negligibly small thickness with a finite shear stiffness, on the deflection of the beam is studied. Absolute slippage and rigid contact between the layers are the two limiting values of the shear stiffness. The values of the flexural stiffness of the beam differ by a factor of four in these limiting situations. The problem is reduced to a one- dimensional problem in the case of harmonic external load and an asymptotic solution is constructed for it. In the case of a load of general form, the Kirchhoff - Love hypotheses are used to construct an approximate solution and the problem is reduced to a one-dimensional problem. The difficulties which arise in simulating of the interaction forces between the layers using Coulombic dry friction forces are discussed.  相似文献

The propagation of a steady saturation front in a double-layer porous material, situated between impenetrable walls, is investigated. The closed system of equations and boundary conditions are written on the assumption that the displacing and displaced phases, the viscosities of which differ considerably, are connected, and that the capillary pressure on the interface is constant. The features of the behaviour of the interface in the neighbourhood of the boundary of the layers are investigated in the case when the layer thicknesses differ considerably. When the permeabilities of the layers differ considerably, asymptotic expressions are obtained for the pressure and shape of the interface, and a comparison is made with the results of a numerical solution of the complete problem and with the known asymptotic relations obtained when using a simplified boundary condition at the interface.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for two nonlinear differential equations with a small parameter multiplying the derivative in one of the equations. The right-hand side of this equation has a zero of high order at the origin with respect to one of the unknown functions. We construct and justify a uniform asymptotic approximation to the solution with accuracy of any power of the small parameter. In this paper, we consider the vanishing viscosity limit problem for a system arising from the Keller-Segel equations in three space dimensions. First, we construct an accurate approximate solution that incorporates the effects of boundary layers. Then, we prove the structural stability of the approximate solution as the chemical diffusion coefficient tends to zero. In this paper we investigate a class of singular second order differential equations with singular perturbation subject to three-point boundary value conditions, whose solution exhibits a couple of boundary layers at two endpoints. We first establish a lower–upper solutions theorem by using the Schauder fixed point theorem. By the asymptotic expansions and the lower–upper solutions theorem we obtain the existence, asymptotic estimates and uniqueness for the proposed problem. Similarity flow of a viscous fluid in a channel is considered, driven by uniform withdrawal of the fluid through the channel walls. The nonlinear ordinary differential boundary value problem that results has several branches of solutions; those of Types III, III1, and I1 are investigated here, in the limit of large wall-suction Reynolds number. This paper gives a markedly more accurate Type III asymptotic solution than previously available, and describes the true asymptotics of the other branches for the first time. The asymptotic structure of the Type III1 solution is particularly subtle, requiring matching between seven different layers. Numerical solutions of the boundary value problem provide support for the asymptotic solutions obtained.  相似文献

The problem of internal waves excited by a point source in a two-layer atmosphere is investigated in a linear formulation. The lower layer is bounded by a horizontal surface and, the upper layer is unbounded. It is assumed that the vertical displacements and velocities of the particles vary continuously at the layer boundaries, and that the Brunt Väisälä frequency is constant in each layer but experiences discontinuities at the common boundary of the layers; the source is situated in the lower layer. The asymptotic behaviour of the perturbations in the lower layer at long times is investigated. The solution is found using integral transforms and is expressed in terms of double integrals of many-valued analytic functions. A transformation is proposed which enables the solution to be expressed as the sum of single integrals. The behaviour of these integrals at long times is found by the stationary-phase method. It is shown that a critical cone exists across which the asymptotic behaviour of the system undergoes a change.  相似文献
