A rigidity theorem for oriented complete submanifolds with parallel mean curvature in a complete and simply connected Riemannian (n p)-dimensional manifold Nn p with negative sectional curvature is proved. For given positive integers n(≥ 2), p and for a constant H satisfying H > 1 there exists a negative number τ(n,p, H) ∈ (-1, 0) with the property that if the sectional curvature of N is pinched in [-1, τ(n,p, H)], and if the squared length of the second fundamental form is in a certain interval, then Nn p is isometric to the hyperbolic space Hn p(-1). As a consequence, this submanifold M is congruent to Sn(1/ H2-1) or theVeronese surface in S4(1/√H2-1).  相似文献

We consider the scattering problem for the Hartree equation with potential |x|−1 in a space of dimensionn≥2. We prove the existence ofH m -modified wave operator for Hartree equation on a dense set of a neighborhood of zero inH m (ℝ n ), meanwhile, we obtain also the global existence for the Cauchy problem of Hartree equation in a space of dimensionn≥2. We derive the integral inequality of a Randers metric with isotropic S-curvature in terms of its navigation representation. Using the obtained inequality we give some rigidity results under the condition of Ricci curvature. In particular, we show the following result: Assume that an n-dimensional compact Randers manifold (M, F) has constant S-curvature c. Then (M, F) must be Riemannian if its Ricci curvature satisfies that Ric 〈 -(n - 1)c^2.  相似文献

We show that a complete noncompact n-dimensional Riemannian manifold Mwith Ricci curvature Ric M –(n – 1) and conjugateradius conj M c > 0 has finite topological type, provided that the volume growth of geodesic balls in M is not very far from that of the balls in an n-dimensional hyperbolic space H n (–1)of sectional curvature –1. We also show that a complete open Riemannian manifold M with nonnegative intermediate Ricci curvature and quadratic curvature decay has finite topological typeif the volume of geodesic balls of M around the base point grows slowly.  相似文献

Suppose that M is a compact orientable hypersurface embedded in a compact n-dimensional orientable Riemannian manifold N. Suppose that the Ricci curvature of N is bounded below by a positive constant k. Let M n be an n-dimensional complete noncompact oriented submanifold with finite total curvature, i.e., ${\int_M(|A|^2-n|H|^2)^{\frac n2} < \infty}$ , in an (n + p)-dimensional simply connected space form N n+p (c) of constant curvature c, where |H| and |A|2 are the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form of M, respectively. We prove that if M satisfies one of the following: (i) n ≥ 3, c = 0 and ${\int_M|H|^n < \infty}$ ; (ii) n ≥ 5, c = ?1 and ${|H| < 1-\frac{2}{\sqrt n}}$ ; (iii) n ≥ 3, c = 1 and |H| is bounded, then the dimension of the space of L 2 harmonic 1-forms on M is finite. Let M be an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold with or without boundary,and its Ricci curvature RicM≥n- 1. The paper obtains an inequality for the first eigenvalue η1 of M with mixed boundary condition, which is a generalization of the results of Lichnerowicz,Reilly, Escobar and Xia. It is also proved that η1≥ n for certain n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifolds with boundary,which is an extension of the work of Cheng,Li and Yau.  相似文献

In this short note we consider an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold (M, g) of constant scalar curvature S = n(n − 1)c and show that the presence of a nontrivial conformal vector field ξ on M forces S to be positive. Then we show that an appropriate control on the energy of ξ makes M to be isometric to the n-sphere S n (c).  相似文献

Sharp estimates for the Ricci curvature of a submanifold M n of an arbitrary Riemannian manifold N n+p are established. It is shown that the equality in the lower estimate of the Ricci curvature of M n in a space form N n+p (c) is achieved only when M n is quasiumbilical with a flat normal bundle. In the case when the codimension p satisfies 1 ≤ pn − 3, the only submanifolds in N n+p (c) on which the Ricci curvature is minimal are the conformally flat ones with a flat normal bundle.   相似文献

We prove forn≥2 thatM defines an operator bounded onL p (H n ) provided thatp>2n/(2n−1). This improves an earlier result by Nevo and Thangavelu, and the range forL p boundedness is optimal. We also extend the result to a more general class of surfaces and to groups satisfying a nondegeneracy condition; these include the groups of Heisenberg type. Let D be any division ring with an involution,Hn (D) be the space of all n × n hermitian matrices over D. Two hermitian matrices A and B are said to be adjacent if rank(A - B) = 1. It is proved that if φ is a bijective map from Hn(D)(n ≥ 2) to itself such that φ preserves the adjacency, then φ^-1 also preserves the adjacency. Moreover, if Hn(D) ≠J3(F2), then φ preserves the arithmetic distance. Thus, an open problem posed by Wan Zhe-Xian is answered for geometry of symmetric and hermitian matrices.  相似文献

Let TT k denote the transitive tournament on k vertices. Let TT(h,k) denote the graph obtained from TT k by replacing each vertex with an independent set of size h≥1. The following result is proved: Let c 2=1/2, c 3=5/6 and c k =1−2k−log k for k≥4. For every ∈>0 there exists N=N(∈,h,k) such that for every undirected graph G with n>N vertices and with δ(G)≥c k n, every orientation of G contains vertex disjoint copies of TT(h,k) that cover all but at most ∈n vertices. In the cases k=2 and k=3 the result is asymptotically tight. For k≥4, c k cannot be improved to less than 1−2−0.5k(1+o(1)). For ϕ ≡ 1, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence off εN(U) and vanishing atz n is Σ( n=1 ) (1–|Zn|)2 ∞. Also we estimate a large family of canonical products.
