Let A be a set of positive integers with gcd (A) = 1, and let p A (n) be the partition function of A. Let c 0 = 2/3. If A has lower asymptotic density and upper asymptotic density , then lim inf log p A (n)/c 0 n and lim sup log p A (n)/c 0 n . In particular, if A has asymptotic density > 0, then log p A (n) c0n. Conversely, if > 0 and log p A (n) c 0 n, then the set A has asymptotic density .  相似文献

Summary Forf ( C n() and 0 t x letJ n (f, t, x) = (–1)n f(–x)f (n)(t) +f(x)f (n) (–t). We prove that the only real-analytic functions satisfyingJ n (f, t, x) 0 for alln = 0, 1, 2, are the exponential functionsf(x) = c e x,c, . Further we present a nontrivial class of real-analytic functions satisfying the inequalitiesJ 0 (f, x, x) 0 and 0 x (x – t)n – 1Jn(f, t, x)dt 0 (n 1).  相似文献

Summary Let G be a sharply 3-transitive permutation set on a finite set E of even cardinality and let 1 be in G. The following theorems are proved. G is one of the known examples if and only if there exists a non-identity normal subgroup N of G and an element of E such that NG G.G is a group if and only if G for every G and for every G and for every G .By using the classification of finite single groups a result concerning sharply k-transitive permutation sets k>3 is also proved.

Let G be a graph with order p, size q and component number . For each i between p – and q, let be the family of spanning i-edge subgraphs of G with exactly components. For an integer-valued graphical invariant if H H is an adjacent edge transformation (AET) implies |(H)-(H')|1 then is said to be continuous with respect to AET. Similarly define the continuity of with respect to simple edge transformation (SET). Let M j() and m j() be the invariants defined by . It is proved that both M p–() and m p–(;) interpolate over , if is continuous with respect to AET, and that M j() and m j() interpolate over , if is continuous with respect to SET. In this way a lot of known interpolation results, including a theorem due to Schuster etc., are generalized.  相似文献

We study the effective heat conductivity of regular arrays of perfectly conducting spheres embedded in a matrix with unit conductivity. Quasifractional approximants allow us to derive an approximate analytical solution, valid for all values of the spheres volume fraction [0, max] (max is the maximum volume fraction of a spheres). As a starting point we use a perturbation approach for 0 and an asymptotic solution for max. Three different spatial arrangements of the spheres, simple cubic, body centred and face centred cubic arrays, are considered. Results obtained give a good agreement with numerical data.  相似文献

Let X and Y be locally compact-compact topological spaces, F X×Y is closed, and P(F) is the set of all Borel probability measures on F. For us to find, for the pair of probability measures (x, y P (XP(Y), a probability measure P(F) such that X = X –1 , Y = Y –1 it is necessary and sufficient that, for any pair of Borel sets A X, B Y for which (A× B) F=Ø, the condition XA+ YB 1 holds.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 14, No. 4, pp. 573–576, October, 1973.  相似文献

Summary We introduce a new bifurcation model which consists of a linear second order ordinary differential equation together with nonlocal nonlinear boundary conditions. These are periodic boundary conditions in the case of the trivial solutiony=0 and semi-periodic boundary conditions for y tending to infinity. We use an elementary method to prove the existence of global solution branches connecting the periodic eigenvalues and the trivial solutiony=0 with the semi-periodic eigenvalues and the solutiony=.

It is shown that the conditional distributions of a number of characteristics of a branching process (t), (0)=m, under the condition that the number of total progeny m in this process is equal to n, coincide with the distributions of the corresponding characteristics of a generalized scheme of arrangement of particles in cells. In the case where the number of offsprings of a particle has the Poisson distribution, the characteristics of the branching process (t), (0)=1, under the condition that 1=n+1, coincide with the characteristics of a random tree. By using these connections we obtain in this article a series of limit theorems as n for characteristics of random trees and branching processes under the conditions that m=n.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 21, No. 5, pp. 691–705, May, 1977.  相似文献

Summary Let T be an infinite homogeneous tree of order a+1. We study Markov chains {X n} in T whose transition functions p(x, y)=A[d(x,y)] depend only on the shortest distance between x and y in the graph. The graph T can be represented as a symmetric space of a p-adic matrix group; we prove a series of results using essentially the spherical functions of this symmetric space. Theorem 1. d(X n,x) n a.s., where >0 if A(0) 1, X 0=x. Assuming {X n} is strongly aperiodic, Theorem 2. p 2(x, y)CRn/n3/2 for fixed x, y where R=(d) A(d)<1, and if E[d(X1, X0)2]<, Theorem 3. R(1–u, x, y) = (1–u)npn(x, y)=Ca–d[exp(–du/)+od(1)] as d=d(x,y) uniformly for 0u2. Using Theorem 3, we calculate the Martin boundary Dirichlet kernel of p(x, y) on T, which turns out to be independent of {itA(d)}. We also consider a stepping-stone model of a randomly-mating-and-migrating population on the nodes of T. If initially all individuals are distinct, then in generation n approximately half of the individuals of a given type are within n of a typical one and essentially all are within 2n.This work was partially supported by the National Science Foundation under grant number MCS 75-08098-A01For the academic year 1977–78: Department of Mathematics GN-50, University of Washington, Seattle, Washington 98195 USA  相似文献

Summary We describe a large class of one-parameter families , {}, , of two-dimensional diffeomorphisms which arestable for <0, exhibit acycle for =0, and thereafter have a bifurcation set of positive but arbitrarily smallrelative measure for in small intervals [0, ]. A main assumption is that the basic sets involved in the cycle havelimit capacities that are not too large.The second author acknowledges hospitality and financial support from IMPA/CNPq during the period this paper was prepared  相似文献

A permutation set (M, I) consisting of a setM and a set of permutations ofM, is calledsymmetric, if for any two permutations, the existence of anx M with (x) (x) and –1 (x) = –1 (x) implies –1 = –1 , andsharply 3-transitive, if for any two triples (x 1,x 2,x 3), (y 1,y 2,y 3) M 3 with|{x 1,x 2,x 3 }| = |{y 1,y 2,y 3 }| = 3 there is exactly one permutation with(x 1) =y 1,(x 2) =y 2,(x 3) =y 3. The following theorem will be proved.THEOREM.Let (M, ) be a sharply 3-transitive symmetric permutation set with |M|3, such that contains the identity. Let (, A, ) be a measure space, a function seminorm on M, the space of measurable functions on , and M the space {f M : (f) < }. Every Borel measurable function : [0, ) [0, ) induces a function : M M by (f)(x) = (|f(x)|). We introduce the concepts of -factor and -invariant space. If is a -subadditive seminorm function, we give, under suitable conditions over , necessary and sufficient conditions in order that M be invariant and prove the existence of -factors for . We also give a characterization of the best -factor for a -subadditive function seminorm when is -finite. All these results generalize those about multiplicativity factors for function seminorms proved earlier.  相似文献

We propose a solution strategy for fractional programming problems of the form max xx g(x)/ (u(x)), where the function satisfies certain convexity conditions. It is shown that subject to these conditions optimal solutions to this problem can be obtained from the solution of the problem max xx g(x) + u(x), where is an exogenous parameter. The proposed strategy combines fractional programming andc-programming techniques. A maximal mean-standard deviation ratio problem is solved to illustrate the strategy in action.  相似文献

Summary Denote by k a class of familiesP={P} of distributions on the line R1 depending on a general scalar parameter , being an interval of R1, and such that the moments µ1()=xdP ,...,µ2k ()=x 2k dP are finite, 1 (), ..., k (), k+1 () ..., k () exist and are continuous, with 1 () 0, and j +1 ()= 1 () j () +[2() -1()2] j ()/ 1 (), J=2, ..., k. Let 1x=x 1 + ... +x n/n, 2=x 1 2 + ... +x n 2/n, ..., k =(x 1 k + ... +x n k/n denote the sample moments constructed for a sample x1, ..., xn from a population with distribution Pg. We prove that the estimator of the parameter by the method of moments determined from the equation 1= 1() and depending on the observations x1, ..., xn only via the sample mean ¯x is asymptotically admissible (and optimal) in the class k of the estimators determined by the estimator equations of the form 0 () + 1 () 1 + ... + k () k =0 if and only ifP k .The asymptotic admissibility (respectively, optimality) means that the variance of the limit, as n (normal) distribution of an estimator normalized in a standard way is less than the same characteristic for any estimator in the class under consideration for at least one 9 (respectively, for every ).The scales arise of classes 1 2... of parametric families and of classes 1 2 ... of estimators related so that the asymptotic admissibility of an estimator by the method of moments in the class k is equivalent to the membership of the familyP in the class k .The intersection consists only of the families of distributions with densities of the form h(x) exp {C0() + C1() x } when for the latter the problem of moments is definite, that is, there is no other family with the same moments 1 (), 2 (), ...Such scales in the problem of estimating the location parameter were predicted by Linnik about 20 years ago and were constructed by the author in [1] (see also [2, 3]) in exact, not asymptotic, formulation.Translated from Problemy Ustoichivosti Stokhasticheskikh Modelei, pp. 41–47, 1981.  相似文献

Numerical calculations are carried out in the hodograph plane to construct optimal critical airfoil shapes and the flow about them. These optimal airfoil shapes give the highest free-stream Mach numberM for a given thickness ratio and tail angle t (nonlifting) for which the flow is nowhere supersonic. A relationship betweenM and for various t is given. Analytical and numerical solutions to the same problem are found on the basis of transonic small-disturbance theory. These results provide a limiting case asM 1, 0 and agree well with the calculations of the full problem. Using a numerical method to calculate the flow about general (subsonic) airfoils, a comparison is made between the critical free-stream Mach numbers for some standard airfoil shapes and the optimal free stream Mach number of the corresponding and t . A significant increase in the critical free-stream Mach number is found for the optimal airfoils.  相似文献
