A generalization of a well-known multiple objective linear fractional programming (MOLFP) problem, the multiple objective fractional programming (MOFP) problem, is formulated. A concept of multiple objective programming (MOP) problem corresponding to MOFP is introduced and some relations between those problems are examined. Based on these results, a compromise procedure for MOLFP problem is proposed. A numerical example is given to show how the procedure works.  相似文献

In this paper we present an extension of goal programming to include linear fractional criteria. The extension forms a natural link between goal programming (GP) and multiple objective linear fractional programming (MOLFP).  相似文献

In this paper, we present a multi-objective linear fractional programming (MOLFP) approach for multi-objective linear fuzzy goal programming (MOLFGP) problem. Here, we consider a problem in which a set of pair of goals are optimized in ratio rather than optimizing them individually. In particular, we consider the optimization of profit to cash expenditure and crop production in various seasons to land utilization as a fractional objectives and used remaining goals in its original form. Further, the goals set in agricultural production planning are conflicting in nature; thus we use the concept of conflict and nonconflict between goals for computation of appropriate aspiration level. The method is illustrated on a problem of agricultural production system for comparison with Biswas and Pal [1] method to show its suitability.  相似文献

We propose a novel algorithm for solving multiparametric linear programming problems. Rather than visiting different bases of the associated LP tableau, we follow a geometric approach based on the direct exploration of the parameter space. The resulting algorithm has computational advantages, namely the simplicity of its implementation in a recursive form and an efficient handling of primal and dual degeneracy. Illustrative examples describe the approach throughout the paper. The algorithm is used to solve finite-time constrained optimal control problems for discrete-time linear dynamical systems.  相似文献

Several algorithms to solve the generalized fractional program are summarized and compared numerically in the linear case. These algorithms are iterative procedures requiring the solution of a linear programming problem at each iteration in the linear case. The most efficient algorithm is obtained by marrying the Newton approach within the Dinkelbach approach for fractional programming.  相似文献

An equivalence is demonstrated between solving a linear complementarity problem with general data and finding a certain subset of the efficient points of a multiple objective programming problem. A new multiple objective programming based approach to solving linear complementarity problems is presented. Results on existence, uniqueness and computational complexity are included.  相似文献

Differential-Algebraic Approach to Linear Programming   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This paper presents a differential-algebraic approach for solving linear programming problems. The paper shows that the differential-algebraic approach is guaranteed to generate optimal solutions to linear programming problems with a superexponential convergence rate. The paper also shows that the path-following interior-point methods for solving linear programming problems can be viewed as a special case of the differential-algebraic approach. The results in this paper demonstrate that the proposed approach provides a promising alternative for solving linear programming problems.  相似文献

The weighted sums approach for linear and convex multiple criteria optimization is well studied. The weights determine a linear function of the criteria approximating a decision makers overall utility. Any efficient solution may be found in this way. This is not the case for multiple criteria integer programming. However, in this case one may apply the more general e-constraint approach, resulting in particular single-criteria integer programming problems to generate efficient solutions. We show how this approach implies a more general, composite utility function of the criteria yielding a unified treatment of multiple criteria optimization with and without integrality constraints. Moreover, any efficient solution can be found using appropriate composite functions. The functions may be generated by the classical solution methods such as cutting plane and branch and bound algorithms.  相似文献

A conic integer program is an integer programming problem with conic constraints. Many problems in finance, engineering, statistical learning, and probabilistic optimization are modeled using conic constraints. Here we study mixed-integer sets defined by second-order conic constraints. We introduce general-purpose cuts for conic mixed-integer programming based on polyhedral conic substructures of second-order conic sets. These cuts can be readily incorporated in branch-and-bound algorithms that solve either second-order conic programming or linear programming relaxations of conic integer programs at the nodes of the branch-and-bound tree. Central to our approach is a reformulation of the second-order conic constraints with polyhedral second-order conic constraints in a higher dimensional space. In this representation the cuts we develop are linear, even though they are nonlinear in the original space of variables. This feature leads to a computationally efficient implementation of nonlinear cuts for conic mixed-integer programming. The reformulation also allows the use of polyhedral methods for conic integer programming. We report computational results on solving unstructured second-order conic mixed-integer problems as well as mean–variance capital budgeting problems and least-squares estimation problems with binary inputs. Our computational experiments show that conic mixed-integer rounding cuts are very effective in reducing the integrality gap of continuous relaxations of conic mixed-integer programs and, hence, improving their solvability. In this paper we propose a computer-graphics based Decision Support System for multiple objective linear programming that builds on the VIG system (Visual Interactive Goal programming). The essential part of the VIG system is Pareto Race, a dynamic and visual approach for exploring the efficient frontier of a multiple objective linear programming problem. Our objective is to extend Pareto Race to large-scale multiple objective linear programming. The approach works with any efficient solutions that are in general not extreme point solutions. Interactive use of computer graphics plays a central role. The approach, the underlying theory, and an illustrative example are described.  相似文献

An approach to analyzing the potential of a firm, which is understood as the firm's ability to provide goods or (and) services to be supplied to a marketplace under restrictions imposed by a business environment in which the firm functions, is proposed. The approach is based on using linear inequalities and, generally, mixed variables in modelling this ability for a broad spectrum of industrial, transportation, agricultural, and other types of firms and allows one to formulate problems of analyzing the potential of a firm as linear programming problems or mixed programming problems with linear constraints. This approach generalizes the one proposed by the author earlier for a more narrow class of models and allows one to effectively employ a widely available software for solving practical problems of the considered kind, especially for firms described by large scale models of mathematical programming.  相似文献

The paper considers solving of linear programming problems with p-order conic constraints that are related to a certain class of stochastic optimization models with risk objective or constraints. The proposed approach is based on construction of polyhedral approximations for p-order cones, and then invoking a Benders decomposition scheme that allows for efficient solving of the approximating problems. The conducted case study of portfolio optimization with p-order conic constraints demonstrates that the developed computational techniques compare favorably against a number of benchmark methods, including second-order conic programming methods.  相似文献

Chang [C.-T. Chang, Multi-choice goal programming, Omega, The Inter. J. Manage. Sci. 35 (2007) 389–396] has recently proposed a new method namely multi-choice goal programming (MCGP) for multi-objective decision problems. The multi-choice goal programming allows the decision maker to set multi-choice aspiration levels for each goal to avoid underestimation of the decision. However, to express the multi-choice aspiration levels, multiplicative terms of binary variables are involved in their model. This leads to difficult implementation and it is not easily understood by industrial participants. In this paper, we propose an alternative method to formulate the multi-choice aspiration levels with two contributions: (1) the alternative approach does not involve multiplicative terms of binary variables, this leads to more efficient use of MCGP and is easily understood by industrial participants, and (2) the alternative approach represents a linear form of MCGP which can easily be solved by common linear programming packages, not requiring the use of integer programming packages. In addition, a new concept of constrained MCGP is introduced for constructing the relationships between goals in this paper. Finally, to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method, an illustrate example is included.  相似文献

Narasimhan incorporated fuzzy set theory within goal programming formulation in 1980. Since then numerous research has been carried out in this field. One of the well-known models for solving fuzzy goal programming problems was proposed by Hannan in 1981. In this paper the conventional MINMAX approach in goal programming is applied to solve fuzzy goal programming problems. It is proved that the proposed model is an extension to Hannan model that deals with unbalanced triangular linear membership functions. In addition, it is shown that the new model is equivalent to a model proposed in 1991 by Yang et al. Moreover, a weighted model of the new approach is introduced and is compared with Kim and Whang’s model presented in 1998. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and strengths of the new models.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a practical algorithm for solving low rank linear multiplicative programming problems and low rank linear fractional programming problems. The former is the minimization of the sum of the product of two linear functions while the latter is the minimization of the sum of linear fractional functions over a polytope. Both of these problems are nonconvex minimization problems with a lot of practical applications. We will show that these problems can be solved in an efficient manner by adapting a branch and bound algorithm proposed by Androulakis–Maranas–Floudas for nonconvex problems containing products of two variables. Computational experiments show that this algorithm performs much better than other reported algorithms for these class of problems.  相似文献

In a multi-objective linear fractional programming problem (MOLFPP), it is often useful to check the efficiency of a given feasible solution, and if the solution is efficient, it is useful to check strong or weak efficiency. In this paper, by applying a geometrical interpretation, a linear programming approach is achieved to test weak efficiency. Also, in order to test strong efficiency for a given weakly efficient point, a linear programming approach is constructed.  相似文献

A Unified Monotonic Approach to Generalized Linear Fractional Programming   总被引:14,自引:0,他引:14
We present an efficient unified method for solving a wide class of generalized linear fractional programming problems. This class includes such problems as: optimizing (minimizing or maximizing) a pointwise maximum or pointwise minimum of a finite number of ratios of linear functions, optimizing a sum or product of such ratios, etc. – over a polytope. Our approach is based on the recently developed theory of monotonic optimization.  相似文献
