In this note,we answer a question of Hong et al. (2003 Hong , C. Y. , Kim , N. K. , Kwak , T. K. ( 2003 ). On skew Armendariz rings . Comm. ABSTRACT

Let ? be a complete set of Sylow subgroups of a finite group G, that is, ? contains exactly one and only one Sylow p-subgroup of G for each prime p. A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be ?-permutable if H permutes with every member of ?. The purpose of this article is to study the influence of ?-permutability of all maximal subgroups of the Sylow subgroups of the generalized Fitting subgroup of some normal subgroup of a finite group G on the structure of G. Our results improve and extend the main results of Asaad (1998 Asaad , M. ( 1998 ). On maximal subgroups of Sylow subgroups of finite groups . Comm. Algebra 26 ( 11 ): 36473652 . ABSTRACT

We give another proof of Harrison's decomposition result,[2] Harrison, D.K. 1975. A Grothendieck Ring of Higher Degree Forms. Journal of Algebra, 35: 123138. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar] Prop. 2.3 for higher degree forms over a noetherian ring, exploiting an earlier introduction of the centre. We generalise to higher degree forms over a noetherian scheme: we extend the notion of centre; we prove a decomposition result; we extend Harrison's result,[2] Harrison, D.K. 1975. A Grothendieck Ring of Higher Degree Forms. Journal of Algebra, 35: 123138. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar] Prop. 4.3 on the behaviour of the centre under a flat base extension; and we improve his result,[2] Harrison, D.K. 1975. A Grothendieck Ring of Higher Degree Forms. Journal of Algebra, 35: 123138. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar] Prop. 4.2, giving conditions on the base scheme under which the centre of the tensor product of two higher degree forms is isomorphic to the tensor product of their centres.  相似文献

In this article we investigate the annihilating-ideal graph of a commutative ring, introduced by Behboodi and Rakeei in [10 Behboodi, M., Rakeei, Z. (2011). The annihilating-ideal graph of commutative rings I. J. Algebra Appl. 10(4):727739.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]]. Our main goal is to determine which algebraic properties of a ring are reflected in its annihilating-ideal graph. We prove that, for artinian rings, the annihilating-ideal graph can be used to determine whether the ring in question is a PIR or, more generally, if it is a dual ring. Moreover, with one trivial exception, the annihilating-ideal graph can distinguish between PIRs with different ideal lattices. In addition, we explore new techniques for classifying small annihilating-ideal graphs. Consequently, we completely determine the graphs with six or fewer vertices which can be realized as the annihilating-ideal graph of a commutative ring.  相似文献

It is well known that every serial Noetherian ring satisfies the restricted minimum condition. In particular, following Warfield (1975 Warfield , R. B. ( 1975 ). Serial rings and finitely presented modules . J. Algebra 37 : 187222 . [CSA] [CROSSREF] [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]), such a ring is a direct sum of an Artinian ring and hereditary prime rings. The aim of this note is to show that every serial ring having the restricted minimum condition is Noetherian.  相似文献

S. Bulman-Fleming (1992 Bulman-Fleming , S. ( 1992 ). Flat and strongly flat S -systems . II. Comm. Alg. 20 : 25532567 .[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]) presented necessary and sufficient conditions under which an amalgam of two copies of a monoid by a proper right ideal is flat, weakly flat, or principally weakly flat. In this note, a similar problem is considered for other generalizations of projective acts, namely for weak, Rees weak, and principal Rees weak projectivity.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Pairs (A, L) with A a commutative algebra and L a Lie algebra acting on A by derivations, called Lie algops, are studied as algebraic structures over arbitrary fields of arbitrary characteristic. Lie algops possess modules and tensor products—and are considered with respect to a central simple theory.

The simplicity problem of determining the faithful unital simple Lie algops ( A, L ) is of interest since the corresponding Lie algebras AL are usually simple (Jordan, 2000 Jordan , D. A. ( 2000 ). On the simplicity of Lie algebras of derivations of commutative algebras . J. Algebra 228 : 580585 . [CSA] [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]). For locally finite Lie algops, and up to purely inseparable descent, this problem reduces by way of closures to the closed central simplicity problem of determining those which are closed central simple.

The simplicity and representation theories for locally nilpotent separably triangulable unital Lie algops are of particular interest because they relate to the problems of classifying simple Lie algebras of Witt type and their representations. Of these, the simplicity theory reduces to that of Jordan Lie algops.

The main Theorems 7.3 and 7.4 reduce the simplicity and representation theories for Jordan Lie algops to the simplicity and representation theories for simple nil and toral Lie algops.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this note we show that the hermitian level of a quaternion division algebra with involution of second kind, is always a power of 2, when it is finite. This result holds for a field with trivial or non-trivial involution, and quaternion division algebras with involution of first kind [6] Pfister, A. 1965. Darstellung von -1 als Summe Von Quadraten in Einem Körper. J. London Math. Soc., 40: 159165. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar], [5] Lewis, D.W. 1988. Sums of Hermitian Squares. Continuing the study of divisibility theory of arithmetical rings started in [1 Ánh, P. N., Márki, L., Vámos, P. (2012). Divisibility theory in commutative rings: Bezout monoidss. Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 364:39673992.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]] and [2 Ánh, P. N., Siddoway, M. (2010). Divisibility theory of semi-hereditary rings. Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 138:42314242.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]], we show that the divisibility theory of arithmetical rings with one minimal prime ideal is axiomatizable as Bezout monoids with one minimal m-prime filter. In particular, every Bezout monoid with one minimal m-prime filter is order-isomorphic to the partially ordered monoid with respect to inverse inclusion, of principal ideals in a Bezout ring with a smallest prime ideal. Although this result can be considered as a satisfactory answer to the divisibility theory of both semihereditary domains and valuation rings, the general representation theory of Bezout monoids is still open.  相似文献

A quasi-order on a set S is a binary, reflexive and transitive relation on S. In [3 Fakhruddin, S. M. (1987). Quasi-ordered fields. J. Pure Appl. Algebra 45:207210.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]], Fakhruddin introduced the notion of (totally) quasi-ordered fields and showed that each such field is either an ordered field or else a valued field. Hence, quasi-ordered fields are very well suited to treat ordered and valued fields simultaneously. The aim of the present paper is to prove that an analogous dichotomy holds for commutative rings with 1 as well.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper studies two homogenizations of the down-up algebras introduced in Benkart and Roby (Benkart, G., Roby, T. (1998 Benkart, G. and Roby, T. 1998. Down-up algebras. J. Algebra, 209: 305344. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]). Down-up Algebras. J. Algebra 209:305–344). We show that in all cases the homogenizing variable is not a zero-divisor, and that when the parameter β is non-zero, the homogenized down-up algebra is a Noetherian domain and a maximal order, and also Artin-Schelter regular, Auslander regular, and Cohen-Macaulay. We show that all homogenized down-up algebras have global dimension 4 and Gelfand-Kirillov dimension 4, and with one exception all homogenized down-up algebras are prime rings. We also exhibit a basis for homogenized down-up algebras and provide a necessary condition for a Noetherian homogenized down-up algebra to be a Hopf algebra.  相似文献

Let π be a group. In this article, we introduce the notions of a weak Doi–Hopf π-module and a weak π-twisted smash product. We show that the Yetter–Drinfel'd π-modules over a weak crossed Hopf π-coalgebra (WT-coalgebra) are special cases as these new weak Doi–Hopf π-modules, generalizing the main result by Caenepeel et al. (1997 Caenepeel , S. , Militaru , G. , Zhu , S. ( 1997 ). Crossed modules and Doi–Hopf modules . Israel J. Algebra 36 : 23412386 .[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]) appears as, a type of such a weak π -twisted smash product, respectively. Finally, starting from a weak Hopf algebra endowed with an action of a group π by weak Hopf automorphisms, we construct a quasitriangular weak Hopf π -coalgebra by a twisted double method, generalizing the main result in Virelizier (2005 Virelizier , A. ( 2005 ). Graded quantum groups and quasitriangular Hopf group-coalgebras . Comm. Algebra 33 ( 9 ): 30293050 .[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]). This method allows us to obtain nontrivial examples of quasitriangular weak Hopf π-coalgebras.  相似文献

In [2 Camillo , V. P. , Zelmanowitz , J. M. ( 1980 ). Dimension modules . Pacific J. A Lie algop is a pair (A, L) where A is a commutative algebra and L is a Lie algebra operating on A by derivations. Faithful simple Lie algops (A, L) are of interest because the corresponding Lie algebras AL are simple—with some rare exceptions at characteristic 2. The simplicity and representation theory of Jordan Lie algops is reduced in Winter (2005b Winter , D. J. ( 2005b ). Lie algops and simple Lie algebras . Comm. Algebra 33 : 31573178 .[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]) to the simplicity theory of nil Lie algops and the simplicity and representation theory of toral Lie algops. This paper is devoted to building the first of these two theories, the simplicity theory of nil Lie algops, as a structure theory.  相似文献
