We introduce two kinds of gauge invariants for any finite-dimensional Hopf algebra H. When H is semisimple over C, these invariants are, respectively, the trace of the map induced by the antipode on the endomorphism ring of a self-dual simple module, and the higher Frobenius-Schur indicators of the regular representation. We further study the values of these higher indicators in the context of complex semisimple quasi-Hopf algebras H. We prove that these indicators are non-negative provided the module category over H is modular, and that for a prime p, the p-th indicator is equal to 1 if, and only if, p is a factor of dimH. As an application, we show the existence of a non-trivial self-dual simple H-module with bounded dimension which is determined by the value of the second indicator.  相似文献

We study the group of group-like elements of a weak Hopf algebra and derive an analogue of Radford's formula for the fourth power of the antipode S, which implies that the antipode has a finite order modulo, a trivial automorphism. We find a sufficient condition in terms of Tr(S2) for a weak Hopf algebra to be semisimple, discuss relation between semisimplicity and cosemisimplicity, and apply our results to show that a dynamical twisting deformation of a semisimple Hopf algebra is cosemisimple.  相似文献

We derive a formula for the trace of the antipode on endomorphism algebras of simple self-dual modules of nilpotent liftings of quantum planes. We show that the trace is equal to the quantum dimension of the module up to a nonzero scalar depending on the simple module.  相似文献

From a recent paper, we recall the Hopf monoid structure on the supercharacters of the unipotent uppertriangular groups over a finite field. We give cancellation-free formula for the antipode applied to the bases of class functions and power sum functions, giving new cancellation-free formulae for the standard Hopf algebra of supercharacters and symmetric functions in noncommuting variables. We also give partial results for the antipode on the supercharacter basis, and explicitly describe the primitives of this Hopf monoid.  相似文献

Multiplier Hopf algebroids are algebraic versions of quantum groupoids that generalize Hopf algebroids to the non-unital case and weak (multiplier) Hopf algebras to non-separable base algebras. The main structure maps of a multiplier Hopf algebroid are a left and a right comultiplication. We show that bijectivity of two associated canonical maps is equivalent to the existence of an antipode, discusses invertibility of the antipode, and presents some examples and special cases.  相似文献

We develop a theory of bornological quantum hypergroups, aiming to extend the theory of algebraic quantum hypergroups in the sense of Delvaux and Van Daele to the framework of bornological vector spaces. It is very similar to the theory of bornological quantum groups established by Voigt, except that the coproduct is no longer assumed to be a homomorphism. We still require the existence of a left and of a right integral. There is also an antipode but it is characterized in terms of these integrals. We study the Fourier transform and develop Pontryagin duality theory for a bornological quantum hypergroup. As an application, we prove a formula relating the fourth power of the antipode with the modular functions of a bornological quantum hypergroup and its dual.  相似文献

We extend the Larson–Sweedler theorem [Amer. J. Math. 91 (1969) 75] to weak Hopf algebras by proving that a finite dimensional weak bialgebra is a weak Hopf algebra iff it possesses a non-degenerate left integral. We show that the category of modules over a weak Hopf algebra is autonomous monoidal with semisimple unit and invertible modules. We also reveal the connection of invertible modules to left and right grouplike elements in the dual weak Hopf algebra. Defining distinguished left and right grouplike elements, we derive the Radford formula [Amer. J. Math. 98 (1976) 333] for the fourth power of the antipode in a weak Hopf algebra and prove that the order of the antipode is finite up to an inner automorphism by a grouplike element in the trivial subalgebra AT of the underlying weak Hopf algebra A.  相似文献

We consider closed hypersurfaces of the sphere with scalar curvature one, prove a gap theorem for a modified second fundamental form and determine the hypersurfaces that are at the end points of the gap. For a matrix coalgebra C over some field, we determine all small subcoalgebras of the free Hopf algebra on C, the free Hopf algebra with a bijective antipode on C, and the free Hopf algebra with antipode S satisfying on C for some fixed d. We use this information to find the endomorphisms of these free Hopf algebras, and to determine the centers of the categories of Hopf algebras, Hopf algebras with bijective antipode, and Hopf algebras with antipode of order dividing 2d.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a conjecture on the order of the antipode of semisimple Hopf algebras in the Yetter-Drinfeld category and study a related property of the ordinary Hopf algebras. The paper studies the problem of uniform approximation of a continuous function on a closed interval by the class of functions with bounded second derivative. We prove an estimate of the value of best approximation of the function by this class via its second modulus of continuity. In order to construct a class of new Turaev-braided group category with nontrivial associativity, the concept of a quasitriangular quasi-Turaev group coalgebras was recently introduced. Inside the definition, the conditions of invertibility of the R-matrix R and bijectivity of the antipode S are required. In this article, we prove that the antipode of a quasitriangular quasi-Turaev group coalgebra without the assumptions about invertibility of the antipode and R-matrix is inner, and a fortiori, bijective. As an application, we prove that for a quasitriangular quasi-Turaev group coalgebra, two conditions mentioned above are unnecessary.  相似文献

We provide a very short approach to several fundamental results for Hopf algebras with nonzero integrals. Besides being short, our approach is the first to prove the bijectivity of the antipode without using the uniqueness of the integrals of Hopf algebras and to obtain the uniqueness of integrals as a corollary in a way similar to the classical theory of the Haar measure on compact groups.  相似文献
