In this work, we introduce a Representation of continuous real-valued functions defined over a real Hilbert space. In this paper we investigate how three well-known modes of convergence for (real-valued) functions are related to one another. In particular, we consider order convergence, pointwise convergence and continuous convergence of sequences of nearly finite normal lower semi-continuous functions. There is a natural comparison to be made between the results we obtain for convergence of sequences of semi-continuous functions, and classic results on the convergence of sequences of measurable functions.  相似文献

Lower semi-continuity from above or upper semi-continuity from below has been used by many authors in recent papers. In this paper, we first study the weak semi-continuity for vector functions having particular form as that of Browder in ordered normed vector spaces; we obtain several new results on the lower semi-continuity from above or upper semi-continuity from below for these vector functions. Our results generalize some well-known results of Browder in scalar case. Secondly, we study the minimum or maximum problems for vector functions satisfying lower semi-continuous from above or upper semi-continuous from below conditions; several new results on the existence of minimal points or maximal points are obtained. We also use these results to study vector equilibrium problems and von Neumann’s minimax principle in ordered normed vector spaces.  相似文献

We consider the problem of constructing the convex envelope of a lower semi-continuous function defined over a compact convex set. We formulate the envelope representation problem as a convex optimization problem for functions whose generating sets consist of finitely many compact convex sets. In particular, we consider nonnegative functions that are products of convex and component-wise concave functions and derive closed-form expressions for the convex envelopes of a wide class of such functions. Several examples demonstrate that these envelopes reduce significantly the relaxation gaps of widely used factorable relaxation techniques.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a sufficient condition for the inverse limit of upper semi-continuous functions to be an indecomposable continuum. This condition generalizes and extends those of Ingram and Varagona. In this article we examine various kinds of convergence of sequences of increasing positively homogeneous (IPH) functions and nonnegative decreasing functions defined on the interior of a pointed closed solid convex cone K. We show that five different types of convergency (including pointwise and epi-convergence) coincide for IPH functions. If the space under consideration is finite dimensional then the sixth type can be added: uniform convergence on bounded subsets of itn K. In this paper, we propose a new modified proximal point algorithm for finding a common element of the set of common minimizers of a finite family of convex and lower semi-continuous functions and the set of common fixed points of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings in complete CAT(0) spaces, and prove some convergence theorems of the proposed algorithm under suitable conditions. In this paper, we first give a dual characterization for set containments defined by lower semi-continuous and sublinear functions on Banach spaces. Next, we provide dual characterizations for robust polyhedral containments where a robust counterpart of an uncertain polyhedral set is contained in another polyhedral set or a polyhedral set is contained in a robust counterpart of an uncertain polyhedral set. As well known, the Moreau-Rockafellar-Robinson internal point qualification condition is sufficient to ensure that the infimal convolution of the conjugates of two extended-real-valued convex lower semi-continuous functions defined on a locally convex space is exact, and that the subdifferential of the sum of these functions is the sum of their subdifferentials. This note is devoted to proving that this condition is, in a certain sense, also necessary, provided the underlying space is a Banach space. In this paper we describe and analyse new computational technique for solving proximal split feasibility problem (SFP) using a modified proximal split feasibility algorithm. The two convex and lower semi-continuous objective functions are assumed to be non-smooth. Some application to SFP are given. We demonstrate the computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm with nontrivial numerical experiments. We also compare our method with other relevant methods in the literature in terms of convergence, stability, efficiency and implementation with our illustrative numerical examples.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of partially strictly monotone functions and apply it to construct a class of nonlinear penalty functions for a constrained optimization problem. This class of nonlinear penalty functions includes some (nonlinear) penalty functions currently used in the literature as special cases. Assuming that the perturbation function is lower semi-continuous, we prove that the sequence of optimal values of nonlinear penalty problems converges to that of the original constrained optimization problem. First-order and second-order necessary optimality conditions of nonlinear penalty problems are derived by converting the optimality of penalty problems into that of a smooth constrained vector optimization problem. This approach allows for a concise derivation of optimality conditions of nonlinear penalty problems. Finally, we prove that each limit point of the second-order stationary points of the nonlinear penalty problems is a second-order stationary point of the original constrained optimization problem.  相似文献
