For a continuous function g ≥ 0 on (0, + ∞) (which may be singular at zero), we confront a quasilinear elliptic differential operator with natural growth in ?u, ? Δu + g(u)|?u|2, with a power type nonlinearity, λu p  + f 0(x). The range of values of the parameter λ for which the associated homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value problem admits positive solutions depends on the behavior of g and on the exponent p. Using bifurcations techniques we deduce sufficient conditions for the boundedness or unboundedness of the cited range.  相似文献

This paper deals with a class of degenerate quasilinear elliptic equations of the form −div(a(x,u,u)=g−div(f), where a(x,u,u) is allowed to be degenerate with the unknown u. We prove existence of bounded solutions under some hypothesis on f and g. Moreover we prove that there exists a renormalized solution in the case where gL1(Ω) and f∈(Lp(Ω))N.  相似文献

In this article, we discuss the blow-up problem of entire solutions of a class of second-order quasilinear elliptic equation Δ p u ≡ div(|?u| p?2?u) = ρ(x)f(u), x ∈ R N . No monotonicity condition is assumed upon f(u). Our method used to get the existence of the solution is based on sub-and supersolutions techniques.  相似文献

We consider the elliptic equation ? Δu = f(u) in the whole ?2m , where f is of bistable type. It is known that there exists a saddle-shaped solution in ?2m . This is a solution which changes sign in ?2m and vanishes only on the Simons cone 𝒞 = {(x 1, x 2) ∈ ? m × ? m : |x 1| = |x 2|}. It is also known that these solutions are unstable in dimensions 2 and 4.

In this article we establish that when 2m = 6 every saddle-shaped solution is unstable outside of every compact set and, as a consequence has infinite Morse index. For this we establish the asymptotic behavior of saddle-shaped solutions at infinity. Moreover we prove the existence of a minimal and a maximal saddle-shaped solutions and derive monotonicity properties for the maximal solution.

These results are relevant in connection with a conjecture of De Giorgi on 1D symmetry of certain solutions. Saddle-shaped solutions are the simplest candidates, besides 1D solutions, to be global minimizers in high dimensions, a property not yet established.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the existence of infinitely many small solutions to the following quasilinear elliptic equation ?Δ p(x) u +  |u| p(x)-2 uf (x, u) in a smooth bounded domain Ω of ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ with nonlinear boundary conditions ${|\nabla u|^{p-2}\frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu} = |u|^{{q(x)-2}}u}$ . We also assume that ${\{q(x) = p^\ast(x)\}\neq \emptyset}$ , where p*(x) =  Np(x)/(N ? p(x)) is the critical Sobolev exponent for variable exponents. The proof is based on a new version of the symmetric mountain-pass lemma due to Kajikiya, and property of these solutions is also obtained.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic behavior of blow-up solutions for a general quasilinear elliptic equation of the type ?Δ p u = a(x)u m ?b(x)f(u) with p >  1 and 0 <  mp?1. The main technical tool is a new comparison principle that enables us to extend arguments for semilinear equations to quasilinear ones. Indeed, this paper is an attempt to generalize all available results for the semilinear case with p =  2 to the quasilinear case with p >  1.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the existence and properties of solutions of the following class of nonlinear elliptic differential equations Δu(x)+f(x,u(x))+g(‖x‖)x⋅∇u(x)=0, xRn, ‖x‖>R. We prove existence of positive solutions vanishing at positive infinity. Our approach is based on the subsolution and supersolution method. The nonlinearity f covers both sublinear and superlinear cases and does not necessarily satisfy f(x,0)≡0. The asymptotic behavior of solutions is also described.  相似文献

We consider a solution u of the homogeneous Dirichlet problem for a class of nonlinear elliptic equations in the form A(u) + g(x, u) = f, where the principal term is a Leray–Lions operator defined on and g(x, u) is a term having the same sign as u and satisfying suitable growth assumptions. We prove that the rearrangement of u can be estimated by the solution of a problem whose data are radially symmetric.  相似文献

This article deals with a class of nonlocal and degenerate quasilinear parabolic equation u t = f(u)(Δu + aΩ u(x, t)dx ? u) with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The local existence of positive classical solutions is proved by using the method of regularization. The global existence of positive solutions and blow-up criteria are also obtained. Furthermore, it is shown that, under certain conditions, the solutions have global blow-up property. When f(s) = s p , 0 < p ≤ 1, the blow-up rate estimates are also obtained.  相似文献

Let H ∈ C 2(? N×n ), H ≥ 0. The PDE system arises as the Euler-Lagrange PDE of vectorial variational problems for the functional E (u, Ω) = ‖H(Du)‖ L (Ω) defined on maps u: Ω ? ? n  → ? N . (1) first appeared in the author's recent work. The scalar case though has a long history initiated by Aronsson. Herein we study the solutions of (1) with emphasis on the case of n = 2 ≤ N with H the Euclidean norm on ? N×n , which we call the “∞-Laplacian”. By establishing a rigidity theorem for rank-one maps of independent interest, we analyse a phenomenon of separation of the solutions to phases with qualitatively different behaviour. As a corollary, we extend to N ≥ 2 the Aronsson-Evans-Yu theorem regarding non existence of zeros of |Du| and prove a maximum principle. We further characterise all H for which (1) is elliptic and also study the initial value problem for the ODE system arising for n = 1 but with H(·, u, u′) depending on all the arguments.  相似文献

Abstract

In this work we analyze the existence of solutions that blow-up in finite time for a reaction–diffusion equation u t  ? Δu = f(x, u) in a smooth domain Ω with nonlinear boundary conditions ?u/?n = g(x, u). We show that, if locally around some point of the boundary, we have f(x, u) = ?βu p , β ≥ 0, and g(x, u) = u q then, blow-up in finite time occurs if 2q > p + 1 or if 2q = p + 1 and β < q. Moreover, if we denote by T b the blow-up time, we show that a proper continuation of the blowing up solutions are pinned to the value infinity for some time interval [T, τ] with T b  ≤ T < τ. On the other hand, for the case f(x, u) = ?βu p , for all x and u, with β > 0 and p > 1, we show that blow-up occurs only on the boundary.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to prove the existence of a unique classical solution u(x) to the quasilinear elliptic equation −∇⋅(a(u)∇u)+v⋅∇u=f, where u(x0)=u0 at x0Ω and where n⋅∇u=g on the boundary ∂Ω. We prove that if the functions a, f, v, g satisfy certain conditions, then a unique classical solution u(x) exists. Applications include stationary heat/diffusion problems with convection and with a source/sink, where the value of the solution is known at a spatial location x0Ω, and where n⋅∇u is known on the boundary.  相似文献

We consider a class of degenerate nonlinear elliptic fourth-order equations in divergence form. Coefficients of the equations satisfy a strengthened ellipticity condition involving two weighted functions. The right-hand side F?(x,?u) of the equations depends on the unknown function u. Under some conditions, including Lm -summability of F(·, 0) with m close to 1 and restrictions on the exponent σ of the growth of F?(x,?u) with respect to u, we establish existence of W-solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the given equations and describe the dependence of summability properties of these solutions on m and σ.  相似文献

We derive the gradient estimates and Harnack inequalities for positive solutions of nonlinear parabolic and nonlinear elliptic equations (Δ − ∂/∂t) u(x, t) + h(x, t)uα(x, t) = 0 and Δu + b · u + huα = 0 on Riemannian manifolds.
