关于R~n中Mbius变换群的代数有限性

本文推广了Ｅｉｃｈｌｅｒ在Ｋｌｅｉｎ群的研究中所采用的上同调方法，对于Ｒｎ中的Ｍｂｉｕｓ变换群引进更为一般的线性上同调空间的概念．在此基础上，将作者早期的工作加以推广，研究Ｒｎ中Ｍｂｉｕｓ变换群的代数有限性，并作为特例给出高维Ｋｌｅｉｎ群有限性的一种代数判据．

本文主要讨论Ｃ~ｎ中单位球上 Ｍｂｉｕｓ不变 Ｂｅｓｏｖ空间中函数的增长性并给出其Ｔａｙｌｏｒ系数的估计．

Infinite dimensional modules for Frobenius kernels

We prove that the projectivity of an arbitrary (possibly infinite dimensional) module for a Frobenius kernel can be detected by restrictions to one-parameter subgroups. Building upon this result, we introduce the support cone of such a module, extending the construction of support variety for a finite dimensional module, and show that such support cones satisfy most of the familiar properties of support varieties. We also verify that our representation-theoretic definition of support cones admits an interpretation in terms of Rickard idempotent modules associated to thick subcategories of the stable category of finite dimensional modules.     

ON INFINITE DIMENSIONAL ALGEBRAIC TRANSFORMATION GROUPS

We explore orbits, rational invariant functions, and quotients of the natural actions of connected, not necessarily finite dimensional subgroups of the automorphism groups of irreducible algebraic varieties. The applications of the results obtained are given.     

A Parametrization of the Irreducible Representations of a Compact Inverse Semigroup

The aim in this article is to provide a parametrization of the finite dimensional irreducible representations of a compact inverse semigroup in terms of the irreducible representations of maximal subgroups and order theoretic properties of the idempotent set. As a consequence, we obtain a new, and more conceptual, proof of the following theorem of Shneperman: a compact inverse semigroup has enough finite dimensional irreducible representations to separate points if and only if its idempotent set is totally disconnected. Moreover, we also prove that every norm continuous irreducible *-representation of a compact inverse semigroup on a Hilbert space is finite dimensional.

Is there an easy algebraic characterisation of¶universal proper G-spaces?

We shall study properties of groups having finite cohomological dimension relative to the family of all finite subgroups. We also compare these groups with those satisfying various suggested algebraic analogues to group-actions on finite dimensional proper G-spaces. Received: 15 March 2000     

Finite Subgroups in Algebras and Cohomology

We give a cohomological characterization of the set of conjugacy classes of finite subgroups of the projective multiplicative group of a finite dimensional algebra that become conjugate to a given group over some finite separable extension of the base field. We provide two applications.     

On the automorphisms of normal subgroups of the collineation group of affine spaces

We show that the automorphisms of some normal subgroups of the full collineation group of finite dimensional affine spaces are induced by inner automorphisms of the collineation group.Dedicated to Helmut Karzel on the occasion of his 60^th birthday     

On Normal Subgroups of Semisimple Lie Groups

We prove that normal subgroups of a finite dimensional real, not necessarily connected, Lie group with semisimple Lie algebra are closed. This generalizes a result of Ragozin (Proc AMS 32:632–633, 1972) who proved this for connected Lie groups; our proof is new even in this special case.     

Stallings’ folds for cube complexes

We describe a higher dimensional analogue of Stallings’ folding sequences for group actions on CAT(0) cube complexes. We use it to give a characterization of quasiconvex subgroups of hyperbolic groups that act properly and cocompactly on CAT(0) cube complexes via finiteness properties of their hyperplane stabilizers.
