A directed triple system of order v,denoted by DTS(v,λ),is a pair(X,B)where X is a v- set and B is a collection of transitive triples on X such that every ordered pair of X belongs toλtriples of B.An overlarge set of disjoint DTS(v,λ),denoted by OLDTS(v,λ),is a collection{(Y\{y},A_i)}_i, such that Y is a(v 1)-set,each(Y\{y},A_i)is a DTS(v,λ)and all A_i's form a partition of all transitive triples of Y.In this paper,we shall discuss the existence problem of OLDTS(v,λ)and give the following conclusion:there exists an OLDTS(v,λ)if and only if eitherλ=1 and v≡0,1(mod 3),orλ=3 and v≠2.  相似文献

Let be a locally compact Hausdorff space. Let A and B be two generators of Feller semigroups in with related Feller processes {X A (t), t ≥ 0} and {X B (t), t ≥ 0} and let α and β be two non-negative continuous functions on with α + β = 1. Assume that the closure C of C 0 = αA + βB with generates a Feller semigroup {T C (t), t ≥ 0} in . It is natural to think of a related Feller process {X C (t), t ≥ 0} as that evolving according to the following heuristic rules. Conditional on being at a point , with probability α(p) the process behaves like {X A (t), t ≥ 0} and with probability β(p) it behaves like {X B (t), t ≥ 0}. We provide an approximation of {T C (t), t ≥ 0} via a sequence of semigroups acting in that supports this interpretation. This work is motivated by the recent model of stochastic gene expression due to Lipniacki et al. [17].  相似文献

1.  A theorem concerning the approximation of by a function F that is holomorphic in a neighbourhood of and such that the error Ff is uniformly bounded in the disk .
2.  The corona theorem for when dim(E) < ∞: If there exists a δ > 0 such that for all , , then there exists a such that for all , g(z)f(z) = I.
3.  The problem of complementing to an isomorphism for when {dim(E) < ∞ (Tolokonnikov’s lemma): has a left inverse iff it is a ‘part’ of an invertible element F in .

Here we solve an open problem considered by various researchers by presenting the first explicit constructions of an infinite family of bounded-degree ‘unique-neighbor’ concentrators Γ; i.e., there are strictly positive constants α and ε, such that all Γ = (X,Y,E(Γ)) ∈ satisfy the following properties. The output-set Y has cardinality times that of the input-set X, and for each subset S of X with no more than α|X| vertices, there are at least ε|S| vertices in Y that are adjacent in Γ to exactly one vertex in S. Also, the construction of is simple to specify, and each has fewer than edges. We then modify to obtain explicit unique-neighbor concentrators of maximum degree 3. * Supported by NSF grant CCR98210-58 and ARO grant DAAH04-96-1-0013.  相似文献

Given a closed ideal I in a C*-algebra A, an ideal J (not necessarily closed) in I , a *-homomorphism α : AM(I ) and a map L : JA with some properties, based on earlier works of Pimsner and Katsura, we define a C*-algebra which we call the Crossed Product by a Partial Endomorphism. We introduce the Crossed Product by a Partial Endomorphism induced by a local homeomorphism σ : UX where X is a compact Hausdorff space and U is an open subset of X. A bijection between the gauge invariant ideals of and the σ, σ-1- invariant open subsets of X is showed. If (X, σ) has the property that is topologically free for each closed σ, σ-1-invariant subset X′ of X then we obtain a bijection between the ideals of and the open σ, σ-1-invariant subsets of X. *Partially supported by CNPq. **Supported by CNPq.  相似文献

We consider Dirichlet spaces ( ) in L 2 and more general energy forms in L p , . For the latter we introduce the notions of an extended ’Dirichlet’ space and a transient form. Under the assumption that , resp. , are compactly embedded in L 2, resp. L p , we prove a Poincaré inequality for transient (Dirichlet) forms. If both and its adjoint are sub-Markovian semigroups, we show that the transience of T t is independent of ) and that it is implied by the transience of the energy form of and the form belonging to .  相似文献

In this note, we show that if is a π-partial character of the π-separable group is a chain of normal subgroups of G, and H is a Hall π-subgroup of G, then has a Fong character α Irr(H) such that for every subgroup , every irreducible constituent of α HN is Fong for N. We also show that if is quasi-primitive, then for every normal subgroup M of G the irreducible constituents of are Fong for M. Received: 21 July 2006 Revised: 17 January 2007  相似文献

Let be a complex unital Banach algebra. An element a ∈ is said to be Hermitian if ‖exp(ita)‖ = 1 for all t ∈ ℝ. In the case of the algebra of bounded linear operators in a Hilbert space, this Hermitian property agrees with the ordinary self-adjointness. If a ∈ is Hermitian, then ‖a‖ = |a|, where |a| denotes the spectral radius of a. A function F: ℝ → ℂ is called a universal symbol if ‖F(a)‖ = | F(a)| for every and all Hermitian a ∈ . We characterize universal symbols in terms of positive-definite functions.  相似文献

Denseness of holomorphic functions attaining their numerical radii   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
For two complex Banach spaces X and Y, (B X; Y) will denote the space of bounded and continuous functions from B X to Y that are holomorphic on the open unit ball. The numerical radius of an element h in (B X; X) is the supremum of the set
. We prove that every complex Banach space X with the Radon-Nikodym property satisfies that the subset of numerical radius attaining functions in (B X; X) is dense in (B X; X). We also show the denseness of the numerical radius attaining elements of in the whole space, where is the subset of functions in which are uniformly continuous on the unit ball. For C(K) we prove a denseness result for the subset of the functions in (B C(K); C(K)) which are weakly uniformly continuous on the closed unit ball. For a certain sequence space X, there is a 2-homogenous polynomial P from X to X such that for every R > e, P cannot be approximated by bounded and numerical radius attaining holomorphic functions defined on RB X . If Y satisfies some isometric conditions and X is such that the subset of norm attaining functions of (B X; ℂ) is dense in (B X; ℂ), then the subset of norm attaining functions in (B X; Y) is dense in the whole space. Let E be a non empty set, let P : = E × E, := {x × E|xE}, := {E × x|xE}, and := {C ∈ 2 P |∀X ∈ : |CX| = 1} and let . Then the quadruple resp. is called chain structure resp. maximal chain structure. We consider the maximal chain structure as an envelope of the chain structure . Particular chain structures are webs, 2-structures, (coordinatized) affine planes, hyperbola structures or Minkowski planes. Here we study in detail the groups of automorphisms , , , related to a maximal chain structure . The set of all chains can be turned in a group such that the subgroup of generated by the left-, by the right-translations and by ι the inverse map of is isomorphic to (cf. (2.14)).  相似文献

The moduli space parameterizes the isomorphism classes of S-pointed stable real curves of genus zero which are invariant under relabeling by the involution σ. This moduli space is stratified according to the degeneration types of σ-invariant curves. The degeneration types of σ-invariant curves are encoded by their dual trees with additional decorations. We construct a combinatorial graph complex generated by the fundamental classes of strata of . We show that the homology of is isomorphic to the homology of our graph complex. We also give a presentation of the fundamental group of .   相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to give new and general characterizations for uniform dichotomy and uniform exponential dichotomy of evolution families on the real line. We consider two general classes denoted and and we prove that if V,W are Banach function spaces with and , then the admissibility of the pair for an evolution family implies the uniform dichotomy of . In addition, we consider a subclass and we prove that if , then the admissibility of the pair implies the uniform exponential dichotomy of the family . This condition becomes necessary if . Finally, we present some applications of the main results.  相似文献

The pointset E of an absolute plane can be provided with a binary operation "+" such that (E, +) becomes a loop and for each a E \ {o} the line [a] through o and a is a commutative subgroup of (E, +). Two elements a, b E \ {o} are called independent if [a] ∩ [b] = {o} and the absolute plane is called vectorspacelike if for any two independent elements we have E = [a] + [b] := {x + y | x [a], y [b]}. If is singular then (E, +) is a commutative group and is vectorspacelike iff is Euclidean. If is a hyperbolic plane then is vectorspacelike and in the continous case if a, b are independent, each point p has a unique representation as a quasilinear combination p = α · a + μ · b where α · a [a]and β · b [b] are points, α, β real numbers such that λ (o, λ · a) = |λ|· λ (o, a) and λ (o, μ · b) = |μ|. λ(o, b) and λ is the distance function. For an l-graph , the Turán number is the maximum number of edges in an n-vertex l-graph containing no copy of . The limit is known to exist [8]. The Ramsey–Turán density is defined similarly to except that we restrict to only those with independence number o(n). A result of Erdős and Sós [3] states that as long as for every edge E of there is another edge E′of for which |EE′|≥2. Therefore a natural question is whether there exists for which . Another variant proposed in [3] requires the stronger condition that every set of vertices of of size at least εn (0<ε<1) has density bounded below by some threshold. By definition, for every . However, even is not known for very many l-graphs when l>2. We prove the existence of a phenomenon similar to supersaturation for Turán problems for hypergraphs. As a consequence, we construct, for each l≥3, infinitely many l-graphs for which . We also prove that the 3-graph with triples 12a, 12b, 12c, 13a, 13b, 13c, 23a, 23b, 23c, abc, satisfies . The existence of a hypergraph satisfying was conjectured by Erdős and Sós [3], proved by Frankl and R?dl [6], and later by Sidorenko [14]. Our short proof is based on different ideas and is simpler than these earlier proofs. * Research supported in part by the National Science Foundation under grants DMS-9970325 and DMS-0400812, and an Alfred P. We show that the crossed product C*-algebra is a simple A -algebra provided that the associated cocycle takes its values in rotations on . Given two minimal systems and such that φ and ψ arise from cocycles with values in isometric homeomorphisms on , we show that two systems are approximately K-conjugate when they have the same K-theoretical information.  相似文献
