Longitudinal vibrations coupled with transverse vibrations of whirling rods are investigated. It is known that longitudinal and transverse vibrations are governed by second and fourth order differential equations, respectively. Due to the Coriolis effect, a system of equations that governs the longitudinal and transverse displacements will be constructed by coupling these two equations together. Solutions of the equations assume small oscillations of vibration being superimposed on the steady state of the whirling rod. Exact and approximate solutions are obtained from the proposed governing equations, where the approximate solutions on displacements and natural frequencies are acquired by neglecting the Coriolis effect. A proposed numerical scheme known as complete function collocation method is implemented to solve the governing equations coupled with longitudinal and transverse displacements. The approximate results on both longitudinal and transverse natural frequencies show that natural frequencies are decreasing while the angular velocity of the rod is increasing. Exact and numerical results on both longitudinal and transverse natural frequencies show that there are no predictable trends whether natural frequencies are increasing or decreasing while the angular velocity of the rod is increasing.  相似文献

The optimal of damping out the oscillations of an elastically rectangular double-membrane system by means of point-wise actuators is solved analytically. The membrane is clamped along the boundaries. The motion of the system is initiated by given initial displacement and velocity conditions. The basic control problem is to minimize the deflection and the velocity of displacements at a specified time with the minimum expenditure of actuation energy. A quadratic performance functional is chosen as the cost functional which comprises the functionals of the deflection, velocity and the point-wise actuators. Necessary and sufficient conditions of optimality are investigated. The necessary conditions of optimality are obtained from a variational approach and formulated in the form of degenerate integrals which lead to explicit optimal control laws for the actuators. Numerical results are given for various problem parameters and the efficiency of the control mechanism is investigated.  相似文献

A general model for the outer layers of steady spherical star systems is considered. The corona is assumed to be formed by stars flying out of the system along ballistic orbits. Expressions for density runs and velocity dispersions are found. Models of three kinds are studied, namely, systems with isotropic velocity distribution, spheres with purely radial orbits, and models with ellipsoidal velocity distribution. The following isotropic distribution functions were considered as examples: the truncated Maxwellian distribution, King’s model, and the spherical analogue of Perek’s model. The truncated Maxwellian distribution of radial velocities is an example of a radial orbit system. The truncated Schwarzschildian velocity distribution and generalized polytropes introduced by Kuzmin and Veltmann are examples of models with ellipsoidal velocity distribution. Density asymptotics are found for all models provided that the self-gravitation of coronas is neglected.  相似文献

A model of a railway track, in the form of an infinite Timoshenko beam resting on equally spaced massive visco-elastic supports, is considered. Steady vertical vibrations of the track due to a harmonic force moving along it at a constant velocity are investigated. The vertical displacement of the track is represented in a moving system of coordinates by a generalized Fourier series. The steady vertical vibrations of a massive rigid wheel rolling along the track at a constant velocity and loaded by a vertical harmonic force are investigated. The track-wheel interaction force is expressed as a generalized Fourier series whose coefficients are determined using an equality relating the vertical displacements of the wheel and the track. Vibrations of the wheel due to centrifugal force and periodic changes in the track parameters are considered. Parametric vibrations of a wheel moving at a constant velocity under a static load due to periodic variation in the stiffness of the track are investigated. The force with which the track resists the uniform motion of an unbalanced wheel is computed.  相似文献

The motion, with constant velocity, of a normal load along an elastic beam lying on an elastic isotropic homogeneous half-space is considered. A method for the approximate calculation of the normal displacements of the surface of the half-space for subsonic velocities of motion is developed. An estimate is given of the expressions obtained and a comparison is made with existing results for the problem of the motion of a point load along a half-space.  相似文献

The transverse vibrations of an elastic rod, to one of which displacements are applied while the other end is free, are investigated. It is assumed that the propagation velocity of the perturbations in the rod is finite. The unperturbed part performed rotational motion around the centre line. The angle of rotation is expressed by the angle of curvature of the centre line of the perturbed part of the rod. Two types of elastic vibrations are obtained: (1) the rod vibrates elastically due to displacements applied at the end, and (2) when performing rotational motion elastic vibrations and additional forces occur in the rod due to elasticity [1].  相似文献

The paper presents an analytical study of blood flow through a stenosed artery using a suitable mathematical model. The artery is modelled as an anisotropic viscoelastic cylindrical tube containing a non-Newtonian viscous incompressible fluid representing blood. The blood flow is assumed to be characterized by the Herschel–Bulkley model. The effect of the surrounding connective tissues on the motion of the arterial wall has been incorporated. Initially, the relevant solutions of the boundary value problem are obtained in the Laplace transform space, through the use of a suitable finite difference technique. Laplace inversion is carried out by employing suitable numerical techniques. Finally, the variations of the vascular wall displacements, the velocity distribution of the blood flow, the flux, the resistance to flow and the wall shear stress in the stenotic region are quantified through numerical computations and presented graphically.  相似文献

海洋立管顶部常铰接于浮式平台下方,在海流激励下存在涡激振动响应,潜在疲劳失效的风险.该文采用非介入光学测试方法(高速摄像),对布置于循环水槽中顶部铰接-底部固定的悬链线柔性立管进行了振动响应研究.实验结果表明,立管三个方向被激发的振动模态阶数与主导振动频率均随约化速度的增加而逐渐升高,平面外的最大均方根振幅在模态过渡时有先降后升的变化,与振动模态分支相呼应.流体与立管之间能量传递在不同方向的分布存在一定差异,导致不同步的模态过渡现象.平面内振动存在与平面外振动主导频率吻合的频率,根据其是否主导对应管段的平面内振动,将其分为强耦合和弱耦合两种模式.  相似文献

Exact wave solutions of the equations of motion of a thin plate are obtained for the one-dimensional case of a first approximation model. The dependence of the velocity of propagation of flexural-longitudinal waves on their frequency is computed for different values of the amplitude of the bending components. The nonlinear character of the relation connecting the deformations and displacements in the theory of thin shells may give rise to effects which cannot be described in terms of the linear approximation even in those cases when the Hooke's law still holds [1]. The estimation of the magnitude of the displacements at which the effects caused by the geometrical nonlinearity become apparent, is of interest.  相似文献

The radiation of elastic waves at normal harmonic stress loading of a ring strip of the cylindrical bore-surface in the infinite elastic medium is considered. The wave field is represented by contour integrals. By using the saddle-point method stress and displacement of asymptotic expansions in the far field were obtained. It is shown that in the far field P-waves bring radial displacements and stresses, and perpendicular to these, displacements and stresses are caused by S-waves. In the paper orientation diagrams of radial and circular displacements and frequency dependencies of relative distribution of radiation power source on types of waves are presented. A leader-follower pair of cars whose motion is subject to a nonlinear car-following equation are travelling with the same positive constant velocity when the leader begins to change his velocity in a monotonic way to a different non-negative value. Conditions are found for the headway between leader and follower to tend monotonically to a positive value. The results are extended to a system of a leader and two followers.  相似文献

A four-noded rectangular element with seven degrees of freedom at each node is developed for buckling analysis of laminated plate structures having any number of layers with a constant thickness of individual layers. The displacement model is so chosen that it can explain adequately the parabolic distribution of transverse shear stresses and the non-linearity of in-plane displacements across the thickness. A geometrical stiffness matrix is developed using in-plane stresses. A wide range of plates from thick to thin are examined under uniaxial loading conditions. The results are compared with the existing analytical and numerical solutions. The present formulations confirm its applicability for buckling analysis of a wide range of plates.  相似文献

讨论了一个二流体系统中非线性水波的Hamilton描述,该系统由水平固壁之上的两层常密度不可压无粘流体组成,上表面为自由面.文中将速度势函数展开成垂向坐标的幂级数,在浅水长波的假定下,取下层流体的“动厚度”与上层流体的“折合动厚度”为广义位移、界面上和自由面上的速度势为广义动量,根据Hamilton原理并运用Legendre变换导出该系统的Hamilton正则方程,从而将单层流体情形的结果推广到分层流体的情形.  相似文献

The plane problem of the sliding contact of a punch with an elastic foundation when there is friction and wear is considered. Assuming the existence of a steady solution in a moving system of coordinates, relations are derived between the sliding velocity, the wear, the contact stresses and the displacements for an arbitrary dependence of the wear rate on the contact pressure. Taking into account the presence of a deformation component of the friction force, an equation is written for the balance of the mechanical energy for the punch - elastic base system considered. It is shown that the equality of the work of the external force in displacing the punch to the losses due to friction and the change in the shape of the foundation due to wear is satisfied when the work done by the contact stresses on the increments of the boundary displacements is equal to zero, and the frictional losses must be determined taking into account the non-uniformity of the distributions of the shear contact stresses and the sliding velocity in the contact area. Two special cases of the foundation in the form of a wide and narrow strip are considered, for which the total coefficient of friction is calculated, taking into account the deformation component of the friction force.  相似文献

The motion of vortex rings of small cross section is considered. A formula is derived for the velocity of a ring in an ideal fluid with an arbitrary distribution of vorticity in the core. The effects of viscosity are then examined. A definition of the velocity of an unsteady diffusing ring is given and it is shown that the method used to calculate the ring speed in an ideal fluid can be extended to give the velocity of a vortex ring subject to viscous diffusion.  相似文献

The propagation of acceleration waves in an anisotropic thermoelastic medium is studied. It is shown that taking account of the finiteness of the heat distribution velocity results in the appearance of four kinds of accelaration waves, whose velocities and damping coefficients depend in an essential way on the direction of wave surface propagation. A comparison between the velocities and damping coefficients of plane acceleration waves in a zinc crystal, obtained with and without the finiteness of the heat propagation velocity taken into account, is presented.The papers [1, 2] are devoted to the influence of the coupling of the strain and temperature fields on the nature of wave propagation in a homogeneous isotropic body in the case of an infinite heat distribution velocity. A number of features due to coupling of the fields is obtained therein, and it is shown in particular that weak and strong discontinuities damp out, and the order of damping is determined by an exponential factor.Taking account of finiteness of the heat distribution velocity results in the appearance of two kinds of longitudinal waves whose propagation velocities depend in an essential manner on the velocity of the heat perturbation [3, 4].  相似文献
