Based on the structure theory of pairs of skew-symmetric matrices, we give a conjecture for the Hilbert series of the exterior algebra modulo the ideal generated by two generic quadratic forms. We show that the conjectured series is an upper bound in the coefficient-wise sense, and we determine a majority of the coefficients. We also conjecture that the series is equal to the series of the squarefree polynomial ring modulo the ideal generated by the squares of two generic linear forms.  相似文献

In this note we study ideals generated by generic forms in polynomial rings over any algebraicly closed field of characteristic zero. We prove for many cases that the (d+k)-th graded component of an ideal generated by generic forms of degree d has the expected dimension (given by dimension count). And as a consequence of our result, we obtain that ideals generated by several generic forms of degrees d usually have the expected Hilbert series. The precise form of this expected Hilbert series, in general, is known as Fröberg's conjecture.  相似文献

We give a lower bound on the Hilbert series of the exterior algebra modulo a principal ideal generated by a generic form of odd degree and disprove a conjecture by Moreno-Socías and Snellman. We also show that the lower bound is equal to the minimal Hilbert series in some specific cases.  相似文献

We introduce the k-strong Lefschetz property and the k-weak Lefschetz property for graded Artinian K-algebras, which are generalizations of the Lefschetz properties. The main results are:

1. Let I be an ideal of R = K[x 1, x 2,…, x n ] whose quotient ring R/I has the n-SLP. Suppose that all kth differences of the Hilbert function of R/I are quasi-symmetric. Then the generic initial ideal of I is the unique almost revlex ideal with the same Hilbert function as R/I.

2. We give a sharp upper bound on the graded Betti numbers of Artinian K-algebras with the k-WLP and a fixed Hilbert function.  相似文献

The Betti-numbers of a graded ideal I in a polynomial ring and the Betti-numbers of its generic initial ideal Gin(I) are compared. In characteristic zero it is shown that if these Betti-numbers coincide in some homological degree, then they coincide in all higher homological degrees. We also compare the Betti-numbers of componentwise linear ideals which are contained in each other and have the same Hilbert polynomial.  相似文献

We investigate the properties of the Stanley ring of a cubical complex, a cubical analogue of the Stanley-Reisner ring of a simplicial complex. We compute its Hilbert series in terms of thef-vector, and prove that by taking the initial ideal of the defining relations, with respect to the reverse lexicographic order, we obtain the defining relations of the Stanley-Reisner ring of the triangulation via “pulling the vertices” of the cubical complex. Applying an old idea of Hochster we see that this ring is Cohen-Macaulay when the complex is shellable, and we show that its defining ideal is generated by quadrics when the complex is also a subcomplex of the boundary complex of a convex cubical polytope. We present a cubical analogue of balanced Cohen-Macaulay simplicial complexes: the class of edge-orientable shellable cubical complexes. Using Stanley's results about balanced Cohen-Macaulay simplicial complexes and the degree two homogeneous generating system of the defining ideal, we obtain an infinite set of examples for a conjecture of Eisenbud, Green, and Harris. This conjecture says that theh-vector of a polynomial ring inn variables modulo an ideal which has ann-element homogeneous system of parameters of degree two, is thef-vector of a simplicial complex.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity and S a multiplicative subset of R. We say that R is an S-Noetherian ring if for each ideal I of R, there exist an s ∈ S and a finitely generated ideal J of R such that sI ? J ? I. In this article, we study transfers of S-Noetherian property to the composite semigroup ring and the composite generalized power series ring.  相似文献

We will study the generic fiber over of the universal deformation ring R Q , as defined by Mazur, for deformations unramified outside a finite set of primes Q of a given Galois representation , E a number field, k a finite field of characteristic l. The main result will be that, if ˉρ is tame and absolutely irreducible, and if one assumes the Leopoldt conjecture for the splitting field E 0 of , then defines a smooth l-adic analytic variety, near the trivial lift ρ0 of ˉρ, whose dimension is given by cohomological constraints and as predicted by Mazur. As a corollary it follows that, in the cases considered here, R Q is a quotient of by an ideal I generated by exactly m equations, where and . Under the above assumptions for and ˉρ odd, using ideas of Coleman, Gouvêa and Mazur it should now be possible to show that modular points are Zariski-dense in the component of , that contains the trivial lift ρ0, provided this lift satisfies the Artin conjecture and E 0 satisfies the Leopoldt conjecture. Furthermore, in the Borel case, we show that the Krull dimension of R Q can exceed any given number, provided Q is chosen appropriately. At the same time, we present some evidence that despite this fact, one might however expect that the dimension of the generic fiber is given by the same cohomological formula as in the tame case. We call an ideal I of a ring R radically perfect if among all ideals whose radical is equal to the radical of I, the one with the least number of generators has this number of generators equal to the height of I. Let R be a ring and R[X] be the polynomial ring over R. We prove that if R is a strong S-domain of finite Krull dimension and if each nonzero element of R is contained in finitely many maximal ideals of R, then each maximal ideal of R[X] of maximal height is the J max-radical of an ideal generated by two elements. We also show that if R is a Prüfer domain of finite Krull dimension with coprimely packed set of maximal ideals, then for each maximal ideal M of R, the prime ideal MR[X] of R[X] is radically perfect if and only if R is of dimension one and each maximal ideal of R is the radical of a principal ideal. We then prove that the above conditions on the Prüfer domain R also imply that a power of each finitely generated maximal ideal of R is principal. This result naturally raises the question whether the same conditions on R imply that the Picard group of R is torsion, and we prove this to be so when either R is an almost Dedekind domain or a Prüfer domain with an extra condition imposed on it.  相似文献

A ring R is called right Johns if R is right noetherian and every right ideal of R is a right annihilator. R is called strongly right Johns if the matrix ring M n (R) is right Johns for each integer n ≥ 1. The Faith–Menal conjecture is an open conjecture on QF rings. It says that every strongly right Johns ring is QF. It is proved that the conjecture is true if every closed left ideal of the ring R is finitely generated. This result improves the known result that the conjecture is true if R is a left CS ring.  相似文献

Hirano studied the quasi-Armendariz property of rings, and then this concept was generalized by some authors, defining quasi-Armendariz property for skew polynomial rings and monoid rings. In this article, we consider unified approach to the quasi-Armendariz property of skew power series rings and skew polynomial rings by considering the quasi-Armendariz condition in mixed extension ring [R; I][x; σ], introducing the concept of so-called (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz ring, where R is an associative ring equipped with an endomorphism σ and I is an σ-stable ideal of R. We study the ring-theoretical properties of (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz rings, and we obtain various necessary or sufficient conditions for a ring to be (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz. Constructing various examples, we classify how the (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz property behaves under various ring extensions. Furthermore, we show that a number of interesting properties of an (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz ring R such as reflexive and quasi-Baer property transfer to its mixed extension ring and vice versa. In this way, we extend the well-known results about quasi-Armendariz property in ordinary polynomial rings and skew polynomial rings for this class of mixed extensions. We pay also a particular attention to quasi-Gaussian rings.  相似文献

We prove that a valuation domain V has Krull dimension ≤ 1 if and only if for every finitely generated ideal I of V[X] the ideal generated by the leading terms of elements of I is also finitely generated. This proves the Gröbner ring conjecture in one variable. The proof we give is both simple and constructive. The same result is valid for semihereditary rings.  相似文献

We study the Hilbert polynomials of finitely generated graded algebras R, with generators not all of degree one (i.e. non-standard). Given an expression P(R,t)=a(t)/(1-tl ) n for the Poincare series of R as a rational function, we study for 0 ≤ il the graded subspaces ? kRkl+i (which we denote R[l;i]) of R, in particular their Poincaré series and Hilbert functions. We prove, for example, that if R is Cohen-Macaulay then the Hilbert polynomials of all non-zeroR[l;i] share a common degree. Furthermore, if R is also a domain then these Hilbert polynomials have the same leading coefficient.  相似文献

We call an ideal I of a commutative ring R radically perfect if among the ideals of R whose radical is equal to the radical of I the one with the least number of generators has this number of generators equal to the height of I. Let R be a Noetherian integral domain of Krull dimension one containing a field of characteristic zero. Then each prime ideal of the polynomial ring R[X] is radically perfect if and only if R is a Dedekind domain with torsion ideal class group. We also show that over a finite dimensional Bézout domain R, the polynomial ring R[X] has the property that each prime ideal of it is radically perfect if and only if R is of dimension one and each prime ideal of R is the radical of a principal ideal.  相似文献

In this paper we study the multigraded Hilbert and Poincaré-Betti series of A=S/a, where S is the ring of polynomials in n indeterminates divided by the monomial ideal a. There is a conjecture about the multigraded Poincaré-Betti series by Charalambous and Reeves which they proved in the case where the Taylor resolution is minimal. We introduce a conjecture about the minimal A-free resolution of the residue class field and show that this conjecture implies the conjecture of Charalambous and Reeves and, in addition, gives a formula for the Hilbert series. Using Algebraic Discrete Morse theory, we prove that the homology of the Koszul complex of A with respect to x1,…,xn is isomorphic to a graded commutative ring of polynomials over certain sets in the Taylor resolution divided by an ideal r of relations. This leads to a proof of our conjecture for some classes of algebras A. We also give an approach for the proof of our conjecture via Algebraic Discrete Morse theory in the general case. The conjecture implies that A is Golod if and only if the product (i.e. the first Massey operation) on the Koszul homology is trivial. Under the assumption of the conjecture we finally prove that a very simple purely combinatorial condition on the minimal monomial generating system of a implies Golodness for A.  相似文献

For an endomorphism α of a ring R, we introduce the notion of an α-Armendariz ring to investigate the relative Armendariz properties. This concept extends the class of Armendariz rings and gives us an opportunity to study Armendariz rings in a general setting. It is obvious that every Armendariz ring is an α-Armendariz ring, but we shall give an example to show that there exists a right α-Armendariz ring which is not Armendariz. A number of properties of this version are established. It is shown that if I is a reduced ideal of a ring R such that R/I is a right α-Armendariz ring, then R is right α-Armendariz. For an endomorphism α of a ring R, we show that R is right α-Armendariz if and only if R[x] is right α-Armendariz. Moreover, a weak form of α-Armendariz rings is considered in the last section. We show that in general weak α-Armendariz rings need not be α-Armendariz.  相似文献

Let R be a Cohen–Macaulay local ring with a canonical module ω R . Let I be an 𝔪-primary ideal of R and M, a maximal Cohen–Macaulay R-module. We call the function n??(Hom R (M, ω R /I n+1ω R )) the dual Hilbert–Samuel function of M with respect to I . By a result of Theodorescu, this function is of polynomial type. We study its first two normalized coefficients. In particular, we analyze the case when R is Gorenstein.  相似文献

As a generalization of the facet ideal of a forest, we define monomial ideal of forest type and show that monomial ideals of forest type are pretty clean. As a consequence, we show that if I is a monomial ideal of forest type in the polynomial ring S, then Stanley's decomposition conjecture holds for S/I. The other main result of this article shows that a clutter is totally balanced if and only if it has the free vertex property, and which is also equivalent to say that its edge ideal is a monomial ideal of forest type or is generated by an M sequence.  相似文献

In this paper we study how prime filtrations and squarefree Stanley decompositions of squarefree modules over the polynomial ring and over the exterior algebra behave with respect to Alexander duality. The results which we obtained suggest a lower bound for the regularity of a \mathbb Zn{\mathbb {Z}^n}-graded module in terms of its Stanley decompositions. For squarefree modules this conjectured bound is a direct consequence of Stanley’s conjecture on Stanley decompositions. We show that for pretty clean rings of the form R/I, where I is a monomial ideal, and for monomial ideals with linear quotient our conjecture holds.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. M is said to be a minannihilator left R-module if r M l R (I) = IM for any simple right ideal I of R. A right R-module N is called simple-flat if Nl R (I) = l N (I) for any simple right ideal I of R. R is said to be a left simple-Baer (resp., left simple-coherent) ring if the left annihilator of every simple right ideal is a direct summand of R R (resp., finitely generated). We first obtain some properties of minannihilator and simple-flat modules. Then we characterize simple-coherent rings, simple-Baer rings, and universally mininjective rings using minannihilator and simple-flat modules.  相似文献
