Hopf monads     
We introduce and study Hopf monads on autonomous categories (i.e., monoidal categories with duals). Hopf monads generalize Hopf algebras to a non-braided (and non-linear) setting. In particular, any monoidal adjunction between autonomous categories gives rise to a Hopf monad. We extend many fundamental results of the theory of Hopf algebras (such as the decomposition of Hopf modules, the existence of integrals, Maschke's criterium of semisimplicity, etc.) to Hopf monads. We also introduce and study quasitriangular and ribbon Hopf monads (again defined in a non-braided setting).  相似文献

Let H be a Hopf algebra over a field k. Under some assumptions on H we state and prove a generalization of the Wedderburn-Malcev theorem for i7-comodule algebras. We show that our version of this theorem holds for a large enough class of Hopf algebras, such as coordinate rings of completely reducible affine algebraic groups, finite dimensional Hopf algebras over fields of characteristic 0 and group algebras. Summary The paper provides a homological algebraic foundation for semi-infinite cohomology. It is proved that semi-infinite cohomology of infinite dimensional Lie algebras is a two-sided derived functor of a functor that is intermediate between the functors of invariants and coinvariants. The theory of two-sided derived functors is developed. A family of modules including a module generalizing the universal enveloping algebra appropriate to the setting of two sided derived functors is introduced. This paper studies invariants of 3-manifolds derived from finite dimensional Hopf algebras. The invariants are based on right integrals for the Hopf algebras. In fact, it is shown that the defining property of the right integral is an algebraic translation of a necessary condition for invariance under handle slides in the Kirby calculus. The resulting class of invariants is distinct from the class of Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants.  相似文献

Abstract

Integrals in Hopf algebras are an essential tool in studying finite dimensional Hopf algebras and their action on rings. Over fields it has been shown by Sweedler that the existence of integrals in a Hopf algebra is equivalent to the Hopf algebra being finite dimensional. In this paper we examine how much of this is true Hopf algebras over rings. We show that over any commutative ring R that is not a field there exists a Hopf algebra H over R containing a non-zero integral but not being finitely generated as R-module. On the contrary we show that Sweedler's equivalence is still valid for free Hopf algebras or projective Hopf algebras over integral domains. Analogously for a left H-module algebra A we study the influence of non-zero left A#H-linear maps from A to A#H on H being finitely generated as R-module. Examples and application to separability are given.  相似文献

Most of pointed Hopf algebras of dimension p^m with large coradtical are shown to be generalized path algebras. By the theory of generalized path algebras, the representations, homological dimensions and radicals of these Hopf algebras are obtained. Assuming the usual finite axiom schema of polyadic equality algebras, axiom (P10) is changed to a stronger version. It is proved that infinite dimensional, polyadic equality algebras satisfying the resulting system of axioms are representable. The foregoing stronger axiom is not given with a first order schema. The latter is to be expected knowing the negative results for the Halmos schema axiomatizability of the representable, infinite dimensional, polyadic equality algebras. Furthermore, Halmos’ well-known classical theorem that “locally finite polyadic equality algebras of infinite dimension α are representable” is generalized for locally-\({\mathfrak{m}}\) polyadic equality algebras, where \({\mathfrak{m}}\) is an arbitrary infinite cardinal and \({\mathfrak{m}}\) < α. Also, a neat embedding theorem is proved for the foregoing classes of polyadic-like equality algebras (a neat embedding theorem does not exists for polyadic equality algebras).  相似文献

In this paper, we will develop the smash product of weak multiplier Hopf algebras unifying the cases of Hopf algebras, weak Hopf algebras and multiplier Hopf algebras. We will show that the smash product R#A has a regular weak multiplier Hopf algebra structure if R and A are regular weak multiplier Hopf algebras. We shall investigate integrals on R#A. We also consider the result in the ?-situation and new examples. Dually, we consider the smash coproduct of weak multiplier Hopf algebras under an appropriate form and integrals on the smash coproduct and we obtain results in the ?-situation.  相似文献

From the viewpoint of higher dimensional Auslander–Reiten theory, we introduce a new class of finite dimensional algebras of global dimension n, which we call n-representation infinite. They are a certain analog of representation infinite hereditary algebras, and we study three important classes of modules: n-preprojective, n-preinjective and n  -regular modules. We observe that their homological behaviour is quite interesting. For instance they provide first examples of algebras having infinite Ext1Ext1-orthogonal families of modules. It is known that under certain finite dimensionality condition the derivation algebra of tensor product of two algebras can be obtained in terms of the derivation algebras and the centroids of the involved algebras. We extend this theorem to infinite dimensional case and as an application, we determine the derivation algebra of the fixed point algebra of the tensor product of two algebras, with respect to the tensor product of two finite order automorphisms. These provide the framework for calculating the derivations of some infinite dimensional Lie algebras.  相似文献

Pairing and Quantum Double of Multiplier Hopf Algebras   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We define and investigate pairings of multiplier Hopf (*-)algebras which are nonunital generalizations of Hopf algebras. Dual pairs of multiplier Hopf algebras arise naturally from any multiplier Hopf algebra A with integral and its dual Â. Pairings of multiplier Hopf algebras play a basic rôle, e.g., in the study of actions and coactions, and, in particular, in the relation between them. This aspect of the theory is treated elsewhere. In this paper we consider the quantum double construction out of a dual pair of multiplier Hopf algebras. We show that two dually paired regular multiplier Hopf (*-)algebras A and B yield a quantum double which is again a regular multiplier Hopf (*-)algebra. If A and B have integrals, then the quantum double also has an integral. If A and B are Hopf algebras, then the quantum double multiplier Hopf algebra is the usual quantum double. The quantum double construction for dually paired multiplier Hopf (*-)algebras yields new nontrivial examples of multiplier Hopf (*-)algebras.  相似文献
