本文研究了平面微分系统x=-y+δx+mxy+ay2+by3,y=F(x)的极限环的存在唯一性,比较完整地讨论了参数空间,在全平面得到了无环和环存在的参数区域,发展了文[1]提出的比较对称轨线的方法,证明了只含一个奇点的极限环的唯一性,同时指出了含三个奇点的闭轨线族和奇闻轨线的存在性.  相似文献

在一定的假设条件下,将气体燃烧的物理模型简化为层焰系统.借助于热力学理论和相关的守恒定律建立了层焰系统的数学模型并对其进行了深入地分析.利用常微分方程的定性理论和方法,结合燃烧的实际需要,对应于参数的不同取值,研究了位于瑞利线上奇点的个数和位置,确定了暴燃区和爆炸区内不同奇点的定性结构及其稳定性,给出了在反应速度-滞止焓平面及燃烧速度-滞止焓平面内层焰系统轨线的相图.  相似文献

This paper concerns the global structure of planar systems. It is shown that if a positively bounded system with two singular points has no closed orbits, the set of all bounded solutions is compact and simply connected. Also it is shown that for such a system the existence of connecting orbits is tightly related to the behavior of homoclinic orbits. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of connecting orbits is given. In this paper, we shall consider the global structure of positive bounded systems on the plane which have m singular points, but not any closed orbits and singular closed orbits. We shall prove that these systems have at least m−1 connecting orbits; and all the connecting orbits, homoclinic orbits and singular points constitute a compact simply connected set. Each of other orbits tends to a singular point as t→+∞, and approaches to the infinity as t→−∞.  相似文献

An argument based on topological degree is used to obtain an existence theorem for orbits connecting two critical points of an autonomous system. The result is applied to the existence of viscous profiles approximating shock waves in weak solutions of systems of nonlinear conservation laws. A result for the case where the Morse indices of the two critical points differ by more than one is also obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, by means of Morse theory of isolated critical points (orbits) we study further the critical points theory of asymptotically quadratic functionals and give some results concerning the existence of multiple critical points (orbits) which generalize a series of previous results due to Amann, Conley, Zehnder and K.C. Chang. As applications, the existence of multiple periodic solutions for asymptotically linear Hamiltonian systems is investigated. And our results generalize some recent ones due to Coti-Zelati, J.Q.Liu, S.Li, etc.This research was supported in part by the National Postdoctoral Science Fund.  相似文献

Three-dimensional convex bodies can be classified in terms of the number and stability types of critical points on which they can balance at rest on a horizontal plane. For typical bodies, these are non-degenerate maxima, minima, and saddle points, the numbers of which provide a primary classification. Secondary and tertiary classifications use graphs to describe orbits connecting these critical points in the gradient vector field associated with each body. In previous work, it was shown that these classifications are complete in that no class is empty. Here, we construct 1- and 2-parameter families of convex bodies connecting members of adjacent primary and secondary classes and show that transitions between them can be realized by codimension 1 saddle-node and saddle–saddle (heteroclinic) bifurcations in the gradient vector fields. Our results indicate that all combinatorially possible transitions can be realized in physical shape evolution processes, e.g., by abrasion of sedimentary particles.  相似文献

In this work we consider computing and continuing connecting orbits in parameter dependent dynamical systems. We give details of algorithms for computing connections between equilibria and periodic orbits, and between periodic orbits. The theoretical foundation for these techniques is given by the seminal work of Beyn in 1994, “On well-posed problems for connecting orbits in dynamical systems”, where a numerical technique is also proposed. Our algorithms consist of splitting the computation of the connection from that of the periodic orbit(s). To set up appropriate boundary conditions, we follow the algorithmic approach used by Demmel, Dieci, and Friedman, for the case of connecting orbits between equilibria, and we construct and exploit the smooth block Schur decomposition of the monodromy matrices associated to the periodic orbits. Numerical examples illustrate the performance of the algorithms. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Given a continuous family of C 2 functionals of Fredholm type, we show that the nonvanishing of the spectral flow for the family of Hessians along a known (trivial) branch of critical points not only entails bifurcation of nontrivial critical points but also allows to estimate the number of bifurcation points along the branch. We use this result for several parameter bifurcation, estimating the number of connected components of the complement of the set of bifurcation points in the parameter space and apply our results to bifurcation of periodic orbits of Hamiltonian systems. By means of a comparison principle for the spectral flow, we obtain lower bounds for the number of bifurcation points of periodic orbits on a given interval in terms of the coefficients of the linearization.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the isolated closed orbits of two types of cubic vector fields in R3 by using the idea of central projection transformation, which sets up a bridge connecting the vector field X(x) in R3 with the planar vector fields. We have proved that the cubic vector field in R3 can have two isolated closed orbits or one closed orbit on the invariant cone. As an application of this result, we have shown that a class of 3-dimensional cubic system has at least 10 isolated closed orbits located on 5 invariant cones, and another type of 3-dimensional cubic system has at least 26 isolated closed orbits located on 13 invariant cones or 26 invariant cones.  相似文献
