Unique solutions     
It is folklore that if a continuous function on a complete metric space has approximate roots and in a uniform manner at most one root, then it actually has a root, which of course is uniquely determined. Also in Bishop's constructive mathematics with countable choice, the general setting of the present note, there is a simple method to validate this heuristic principle. The unique solution even becomes a continuous function in the parameters by a mild modification of the uniqueness hypothesis. Moreover, Brouwer's fan theorem for decidable bars turns out to be equivalent to the statement that, for uniformly continuous functions on a compact metric space, the crucial uniform “at most one” condition follows from its non‐uniform counterpart. This classification in the spirit of the constructive reverse mathematics, as propagated by Ishihara and others, sharpens an earlier result obtained jointly with Berger and Bridges. Consider the differential inclusion in . We exhibit an explicit solution that we call fundamental. It also turns out to be a viscosity solution when properly defining this notion. Finally, we consider a Dirichlet problem associated to the differential inclusion and we give an iterative procedure for finding a solution.

This paper deals with the blow-up of positive solutions for a nonlinear parabolic equation subject to nonlinear boundary conditions. We obtain the conditions under which the solutions may exist globally or blow up in a finite time, by a new approach. The aim of this article is to study a nonlinear system modeling a Non-Newtonian fluid of polymer aqueous solutions. We are interested here in the existence of weak solutions for the stationary problem in a bounded plane domain or in two-dimensional exterior domain. Due to the third order of derivatives in the non-linear term, it’s difficult to obtain solutions satisfying energy inequality. But with a good choice of boundary conditions, an adapted special basis and the use of the good properties of the trilinear form associated to the non-linear term, we obtain energy solutions. The problem in bounded domains is treated and the more difficult problem on non bounded domains too.  相似文献

In this paper solutions of conjugacy equation φ(f(x))=g(φ(x)) for a strictly decreasing continuous given function f and a continuous given function g (maybe non-monotonic) are constructed by piecewise defining. We determine the conditions for piecewise continuously differentiable solutions of conjugacy equations with a strictly decreasing continuously differentiable given function f and a continuously differentiable given function g. Finally, the recursive algorithm is implemented in MATLAB software and two examples are respectively presented for a non-monotonic solution and a continuously differentiable one.  相似文献

In this paper we consider nonlinear-dependent systems with multivalued perturbations in the framework of an evolution triple of spaces. First we prove a surjectivity result for generalized pseudomonotone operators and then we establish two existence theorems: the first for a periodic problem and the second for a Cauchy problem. As applications we work out in detail a periodic nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation and an optimal control problem for a system driven by a nonlinear parabolic equation.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of decreasing solutions for the polynomial-like iterative equation so as to answer Problem 2 in [J. Zhang, L. Yang, W. Zhang, Some advances on functional equations, Adv. Math. (China) 24 (1995) 385-405] (or Problem 3 in [W. Zhang, J.A. Baker, Continuous solutions of a polynomial-like iterative equation with variable coefficients, Ann. Polon. Math. 73 (2000) 29-36]). Furthermore, we completely investigate increasing convex (or concave) solutions and decreasing convex (or concave) solutions of this equation so that the results obtained in [W. Zhang, K. Nikodem, B. Xu, Convex solutions of polynomial-like iterative equations, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 315 (2006) 29-40] are improved.  相似文献
