The unsteady magnetohydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible non-Newtonian Bingham fluid bounded by two parallel non-conducting porous plates is studied with heat transfer considering the Hall effect. An external uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plates and the fluid motion is subjected to a uniform suction and injection. The lower plate is stationary and the upper plate moves with a constant velocity and the two plates are kept at different but constant temperatures. Numerical solutions are obtained for the governing momentum and energy equations taking the Joule and viscous dissipations into consideration. The effect of the Hall term, the parameter describing the non-Newtonian behavior, and the velocity of suction and injection on both the velocity and temperature distributions are studied.  相似文献

根据有旋特征线理论,设计出了沿程马赫数下降规律可控的轴对称基准流场,分析了基准流场的几何参数(前缘压缩角及中心体半径)的影响规律,发现选取较小的前缘压缩角和中心体半径有利于得到性能优良的基准流场;然后在设计状态Ma=6时研究了三种典型的马赫数下降规律对这种轴对称流场性能的影响。最后考虑了粘性的影响,并进行了粘性修正探索,结果表明,采用附面层位移厚度修正方法后,基准流场的壁面压力分布和无粘情况吻合良好。   相似文献

The lower stationary porous plate is subjected to a periodic injection velocity and the upper porous plate in uniform motion to a constant suction velocity. A magnetic field of uniform strength applied normal to the planes of the plates is fixed with the moving plate. The purpose of this work is to study the effect of transverse sinusoidal suction velocity on the flow and mass transfer on free convective oscillatory viscous and optically thin grey fluid over a porous vertical plate in the presence of radiation. The flow becomes three-dimensional due to the variation of suction velocity in the transverse direction. Analytical expressions for velocity and temperature fields are obtained using the perturbation technique. The governing equations has been transformed to ordinary differential equations. Numerical solutions are obtained for different values of radiation parameter, Grashof number and Schmidt number. It is found that non-dimensional velocity decreases with increase of radiation parameter, increases with increase of Grashof number, decreases with increase of Schmidt number and non-dimensional temperature decreases with the increase of radiation parameter.  相似文献

The unsteady Couette–Poiseuille flow of an electrically conducting incompressible non-Newtonian viscoelastic fluid between two parallel horizontal non-conducting porous plates is studied with heat transfer considering the Hall effect. A sudden uniform and constant pressure gradient, an external uniform magnetic field that is perpendicular to the plates and uniform suction and injection through the surface of the plates are applied. The two plates are kept at different but constant temperatures while the Joule and viscous dissipations are taken into consideration. Numerical solutions for the governing momentum and energy equations are obtained using finite difference approximations. The effect of the Hall term, the parameter describing the non-Newtonian behavior, and the velocity of suction and injection on both the velocity and temperature distributions is examined.  相似文献

后台阶流动是研究伴随有传热现象的分离流动的常用模型.虽然Richardson数的改变会明显影响分离流动的流动和传热特性,但是迄今为止关于Richardson数对后台阶流动熵产影响的研究依然很少.基于求解熵产方程,第一次系统研究Richardson数对后台阶流动熵产的影响.对于求解熵产方程所需的速度和温度等变量,通过格子Boltzmann方法来得到.通过上述工作可以发现,后台阶流动中熵产和Bejan数的分布随Richardson数变化显著.总熵产数是Richardson数的单调减函数而平均Bejan数是Richardson数的单调增函数.  相似文献

An unsteady free convective flow through porous media of viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting fluid through a vertical porous channel with thermal radiation is studied. A magnetic field of uniform strength is applied perpendicular to the vertical channel. The magnetic Reynolds number is assumed very small so that the induced magnetic field effect is negligible. The injection and suction velocity at both plates is constant and is given by v 0. The pressure gradient in the channel varies periodically with time along the axis of the channel. The temperature difference of the plates is high enough to induce the radiative heat. Taking Hall current and Soret effect into account, equations of motion, energy, and concentration are solved. The effects of the various parameters, entering into the problem, on velocity, temperature and concentration field are shown graphically.  相似文献

An analysis of a two-dimensional flow of an incompressible, viscous fluid past an infinite, vertical porous plate has been carried out under the following conditions: (i) the suction velocity normal to the plate varies periodically with time (ii) the free stream velocity oscillates in time about a constant mean (iii) the temperature difference between the constant plate temperature and the free stream temperature, causing the free convection currents in the boundary layer. Approximate solutions for the transient velocity, the transient temperature, the amplitude and the phase of the skin-friction and the rate of heat transfer are derived. The fluctuating parts of the velocity profiles, the transient velocity, the transient temperature are shown on graphs whereas the numerical values of the amplitude and the phase of the skin-friction and the rate of heat transfer are entered in tables. The results are discussed in a quantitative way.  相似文献

Analytical solutions for heat and mass transfer by laminar flow of a Newtonian, viscous, electrically conducting and heat generation/absorbing fluid on a continuously vertical permeable surface in the presence of a radiation, a first-order homogeneous chemical reaction and the mass flux are reported. The plate is assumed to move with a constant velocity in the direction of fluid flow. A uniform magnetic field acts perpendicular to the porous surface, which absorbs the fluid with a suction velocity varying with time. The dimensionless governing equations for this investigation are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. Graphical results for velocity, temperature and concentration profiles of both phases based on the analytical solutions are presented and discussed.  相似文献

This article investigates the natural convection flow of viscous incompressible fluid in a channel formed by two infinite vertical parallel plates. Fully developed laminar flow is considered in a vertical channel with steady-periodic temperature regime on the boundaries. The effect of internal heating by viscous dissipation is taken into consideration. Separating the velocity and temperature fields into steady and periodic parts, the resulting second order ordinary differential equations are solved to obtain the expressions for velocity, and temperature. The amplitudes and phases of temperature and velocity are also obtained as well as the rate of heat transfer and the skin-friction on the plates. In presence of viscous dissipation, fluids of relatively small Prandtl number has higher temperature than the channel plates and as such, heat is being transferred from the fluid to the plate.  相似文献

Research on optimization of entropy generation in nanofluid flow gained much interest. In this study, the Walter's-B nanofluid flow is considered to analyze the irreversibility in cubic autocatalysis. Fluid motion is considered in presence of viscous dissipation, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), radiation, and heat generation absorption. Homotopy analysis method (HAM) is employed to solve nonlinear ordinary differential system. Results show that fluid flow reduces for larger Weissenberg and Hartman numbers. Temperature gradually enhances for larger Weissenberg number and radiation parameter. For higher estimation of thermophoresis parameter, the temperature and concentration are enhanced. Opposite impact of Hartman and Weissenberg numbers is noticed for entropy generation and Bejan number. Disorderedness and Bejan number are reduced near the sheet, while the opposite trend is seen away from the sheet.  相似文献

This work is focused on the mathematical modeling of three-dimensional Couette flow and heat transfer of a dusty fluid between two infinite horizontal parallel porous flat plates. The problem is formulated using a continuum two-phase model and the resulting equations are solved analytically. The lower plate is stationary while the upper plate is undergoing uniform motion in its plane. These plates are, respectively, subjected to transverse exponential injection and its corresponding removal by constant suction. Due to this type of injection velocity, the flow becomes three dimensional. The closed-form expressions for velocity and temperature fields of both the fluid and dust phases are obtained by solving the governing partial differential equations using the perturbation method. A selective set of graphical results is presented and discussed to show interesting features of the problem.  相似文献

An analysis of the mass transfer effects on the free convective flow of an incompressible, dissipative, viscous fluid past an infinite, vertical porous plate with constant suction, has been carried out. Approximate solutions to coupled non-linear equations governing the flow are derived. The velocity and the temperature profiles are shown graphically for air (P=0·71). The effects of Gr (Grashof number), Gc (the modified Grashof number), Sc (Schmidt number), E (Eckert number) are discussed qualitatively during the course of discussion. It is observed that due to the addition of the foreign mass, there is a rise in the velocity and a fall in the temperature. But the skin-friction increases when Sc?1 and it decreases when Sc ~1. The rate of heat transfer increases for Sc<1 and decreases for Sc>1.  相似文献

This paper deals with the two-dimensional unsteady flow of a conducting viscous incompressible fluid between two parallel, porous plates, one of which is fixed, while the other is uniformly accelerated, when there is a transverse magnetic field. It is shown that, for a given Hartmann number M, as suction parameter β increases, the velocity at any point of the fluid increases, the Skin friction at the stationary plate increases, while that at the accelerated plate decreases. The results are true, as time T increases, for given Hartmann number M and the suction parameter β. The results also hold good for a given β, as M increases when the magnetic lines of force are fixed relative to the plate, while they are just opposite for the magnetic lines of force fixed relative to the fluid.  相似文献

In the present article, radiative Sutterby nanofluid flow over a stretchable cylinder is considered. The suspended swimming microorganisms have been deliberated in the fluid analysis. Different processes such as Brownian motion, thermophoresis, Joules heating, and viscous dissipation have been inspected in the presences of stratification parameters. The solutions for flow profiles have been obtained via optimal homotopy analysis method. Impacts of different physical involved variables on non-dimensional velocity, temperature, nanofluid concentration, and concentration of density of swimming microorganisms have been debated. Coefficient of skin friction, local Nusselt number, Sherwood number, and density of motile organisms have been calculated. The results reveal that Sutterby fluid parameter enhances the skin friction and has a reverse impact on the velocity, while an increase in stratification causes a declination in the flow boundary layers. The temperature of the flow is also seen to be boosted by the increment in Brownian motion parameter. Analysis of entropy generation shows that the concentration difference parameter maximizes the entropy and minimizes the dimensionless Bejan number.  相似文献
