We extend theorems of É. Cartan, Nomizu, Münzner, Q.M. Wang, and Ge–Tang on isoparametric functions to transnormal functions on a general Riemannian manifold. We show that if a complete Riemannian manifold M admits a transnormal function, then M is diffeomorphic to either a vector bundle over a submanifold, or a union of two disk bundles over two submanifolds. Moreover, a singular level set Q is austere and minimal, if exists, and generic level sets are tubes over Q. We give a criterion for a transnormal function to be an isoparametric function.  相似文献

In this paper we study the boundary behavior of functions in Hilbert spaces of vector-valued analytic functions on the unit disc D. More specifically, we give operator-theoretic conditions on Mz, where Mz denotes the operator of multiplication by the identity function on D, that imply that all functions in the space have non-tangential limits a.e., at least on some subset of the boundary. The main part of the article concerns the extension of a theorem by Aleman, Richter and Sundberg in [A. Aleman, S. Richter, C. Sundberg, Analytic contractions and non-tangential limits, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 359 (2007)] to the case of vector-valued functions.  相似文献

Let H be a Hilbert space of analytic functions on the unit disc D with ‖Mz‖?1, where Mz denotes the operator of multiplication by the identity function on D. Under certain conditions on H it has been shown by Aleman, Richter and Sundberg that all invariant subspaces have index 1 if and only if for all fH, f?0 [A. Aleman, S. Richter, C. Sundberg, Analytic contractions and non-tangential limits, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 359 (7) (2007) 3369-3407]. We show that the natural counterpart to this statement in Hilbert spaces of Cn-valued analytic functions is false and prove a correct generalization of the theorem. In doing so we obtain new information on the boundary behavior of functions in such spaces, thereby improving the main result of [M. Carlsson, Boundary behavior in Hilbert spaces of vector-valued analytic functions, J. Funct. Anal. 247 (1) (2007)].  相似文献

A map of a Riemannian manifold into an euclidian space is said to be transnormal if its restrictions to neighbourhoods of regular level sets are integrable Riemannian submersions. Analytic transnormal maps can be used to describe isoparametric submanifolds in spaces of constant curvature and equifocal submanifolds with flat sections in simply connected symmetric spaces. These submanifolds are also regular leaves of singular Riemannian foliations with sections. We prove that regular level sets of an analytic transnormal map on a real analytic complete Riemannian manifold are equifocal submanifolds and leaves of a singular Riemannian foliation with sections.  相似文献

We prove that the volume of PT z 1, 0 M, calculated with respect to a Kähler metric induced by a complex Finsler structure, is a constant. This contrasts sharply with the situation in real Finsler geometry, where the volume of unit tangent sphere at each point x in a real Finsler manifold is in general a function of x. Furthermore, we point out that different metrics have different constants in general.  相似文献

In his famous 1981 paper, Lempert proved that given a point in a strongly convex domain the complex geodesics (i.e., the extremal disks) for the Kobayashi metric passing through that point provide a very useful fibration of the domain. In this paper we address the question whether, given a smooth complex Finsler metric on a complex manifoldM, it is possible to find purely differential geometric properties of the metric ensuring the existence of such a fibration in complex geodesies ofM. We first discuss at some length the notion of holomorphic sectional curvature for a complex Finsler metric; then, using the differential equation of complex geodesies we obtained in [AP], we show that for every pair (p;v) ∈T M, withv ≠ 0, there is a (only a segment if the metric is not complete) complex geodesic passing throughp tangent tov iff the Finsler metric is Kähler, has constant holomorphic sectional curvature ?4, and its curvature tensor satisfies a specific simmetry condition—which are the differential geometric conditions we were after. Finally, we show that a complex Finsler metric of constant holomorphic sectional curvature ?4 satisfying the given simmetry condition on the curvature is necessarily the Kobayashi metric.  相似文献

In this paper, by making use of the familiar concept of neighborhoods of p-valently analytic functions, we prove coefficient bounds, distortion inequalities and associated inclusion relations for the (nδ)-neighborhoods of a family of p-valently analytic functions and their derivatives, which is defined by means of a certain general family of non-homogenous Cauchy-Euler differential equations.  相似文献

We consider real analytic involutive structures 𝒱, of co-rank one, defined on a real analytic paracompact orientable manifold M. To each such structure we associate certain connected subsets of M which we call the level sets of 𝒱. We prove that analytic regularity propagates along them. With a further assumption on the level sets of 𝒱 we characterize the global analytic hypoellipticity of a differential operator naturally associated to 𝒱.

For an invariant subspace F for the multiplication operator Mz, we derive some spectral properties of the multiplication operator Mφ : FF. A connected Finsler space (MF) is said to be homogeneous if it admits a transitive connected Lie group G of isometries. A geodesic in a homogeneous Finsler space (G / HF) is called a homogeneous geodesic if it is an orbit of a one-parameter subgroup of G. In this paper, we study the problem of the existence of homogeneous geodesics on a homogeneous Finsler space, and prove that any homogeneous Finsler space of odd dimension admits at least one homogeneous geodesic through each point.  相似文献

In the present paper, we introduce and investigate classes of analytic functions involving the Srivastava-Attiya operator. Basic properties for β-uniformly starlike functions of order γ are studied, such as inclusion relations, sufficient conditions, coefficient inequalities and distortion inequalities. The results are also extended to β-uniformly convex, close-to-convex, and quasi-convex functions. Relevant connections of the results presented here with those obtained in earlier works are also pointed out.  相似文献

Let M be a compact complex manifold with a complex Finsler metric F. We define a natural projection of complex horizontal Laplacian on M: it is independent of the fiber coordinate. By using Sobolev space theory and spectral resolution theory in Hilbert space, we prove the Hodge theorem for the natural projection of complex horizontal Laplacian on M.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the approximation of differentiable semialgebraic functions by Nash functions. Approximation by Nash functions is known for semialgebraic functions defined on an affine Nash manifold M, and here we extend it to functions defined on Nash sets  X⊂MXMwhose singularities are monomial. To that end we discuss first finiteness and weak normality for such sets X. Namely, we prove that (i) X is the union of finitely many open subsets, each Nash diffeomorphic to a finite union of coordinate linear varieties of an affine space, and (ii) every function on X which is Nash on every irreducible component of X extends to a Nash function on M. Then we can obtain approximation for semialgebraic functions and even for certain semialgebraic maps on Nash sets with monomial singularities. As a nice consequence we show that m-dimensional affine Nash manifolds with divisorial corners which are class k   semialgebraically diffeomorphic, for k>m2k>m2, are also Nash diffeomorphic.  相似文献

Let (M,F) be a Finsler manifold, and let TM 0 be the slit tangent bundle of M with a generalized Riemannian metric G, which is induced by F. In this paper, we extract many natural foliations of (TM 0,G) and study their geometric properties. Next, we use this approach to obtain new characterizations of Finsler manifolds with positive constant flag curvature. We also investigate the relations between Levi-Civita connection, Cartan connection, Vaisman connection, vertical foliation, and Reinhart spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we study the classM of all inner functions whose non-zero Frostman shifts are Carleson-Newman Blaschke products. We present several geometric, measure theoretic and analytic characterizations ofM in terms of level sets, distribution of zeros, and behaviour of pseudohyperbolic derivatives and observe thatM is the set of all functions inH whose range on the set of trivial points in the maximal ideal space is ∂D∪{0} The second author thanks the University of Metz for its support during a one-month research visit and acknowledges partial support by DGYCIT and CIRIT grants.
