Estimating means from a non-I.I.D. Mixture of Poisson samples

In this paper, a family of estimators for estimating means when mixing two independent Poisson samples is proposed. This family is based on the probability-generating function of the Poisson distribution and is offered as an alternative to the maximum likelihood estimators, which have some drawbacks. These estimators include the method of moments estimators as a special limiting case.     

Regular rapidly decreasing nonlinear generalized functions. Application to microlocal regularity

We present new types of regularity for nonlinear generalized functions, based on the notion of regular growth with respect to the regularizing parameter of the Colombeau simplified model. This generalizes the notion of G^∞-regularity introduced by M. Oberguggenberger. A key point is that these regularities can be characterized, for compactly supported generalized functions, by a property of their Fourier transform. This opens the door to microanalysis of singularities of generalized functions, with respect to these regularities. We present a complete study of this topic, including properties of the Fourier transform (exchange and regularity theorems) and relationship with classical theory, via suitable results of embeddings.     

A Generalization of Herrlich's Question on Almost Reflective and Coreflective Subclasses of Top and Unif

H. Herrlich asked in Topology Appl. 49 (1993), 251–264, whether there are nontrivial classes of topological spaces that are almost reflective and almost coreflective at the same time. This question was dealt with (in Huek and Tozzi, Appl. Categ. Structures 4 (1996), 57–68) in a more general setting than almost reflective and almost coreflective classes. The present paper investigates a modified question: when a nontrivial generalized reflective class of topological or uniform spaces is equivalent to a generalized coreflective class of spaces.     

Quasi-Equilibrium Problems and Fixed Point Theorems of Separately l.s.c and u.s.c Mappings

In this paper, we apply our new results on quasi-variational inequality problems to generalized quasi-equilibrium problems. Some su?cient conditions on the existence of solutions are shown. In particular, we establish several results on the existence of solutions to fixed points of separately lower and upper semicontinuous (lower and lower, upper and upper) mappings.These generalize some well-known fixed point theorems obtained by previous authors as Browder and Ky Fan, Wu, et al., etc.     

Generalized topology, generized continuity

The paper defines, with the help of generalized topologies and generalized neighbourhood systems, two kinds of generalized continuity, by giving in this way a general form to various concepts discussed in the literature. In particular, generalized continuity admits a characterization furnishing a known charcterization of θ-continuous maps. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

A Review of White Noise Analysis from a Probabilistic Standpoint

The main notions and tools from white noise analysis are set up on the basis of the calculus of Gaussian random variables and the S -transform. A new proof of the formula for the S -transform of Itô integrals is given. Moreover, measurability and the martingale property with respect to the Brownian filtration are characterized in terms of the S-transform. This allows the extension of these notions to random variables and processes, respectively, in the space of Hida distributions.     

Ishikawa iterative process with errors for nonlinear equations of generalized monotone type in Banach spaces

The concept of the operators of generalized monotone type is introduced and iterative approximation methods for a fixed point of such operators by the Ishikawa and Mann iteration schemes {xn} and {yn} with errors is studied. Let X be a real Banach space and T : D ? X → 2^D be a multi‐valued operator of generalized monotone type with fixed points. A new general lemma on the convergence of real sequences is proved and used to show that {xn} converges strongly to a unique fixed point of T in D. This result is applied to the iterative approximation method for solutions of nonlinear equations with generalized strongly accretive operators. Our results generalize many of know results. A Note on a Problem of M. S. Berger

In this paper, we discuss the problem concerning global and local structure of solutions of an operator equation posed by M. S. Berger. Let f : U (?)E→ F be a C1 map, where E and F are Banach spaces and U is open in E. We show that the solution set of the equation f(x)=y for a fixed generalized regular value y of f is represented as a union of disjoint connected C1 Banach submanifolds of U, each of which has a dimension and its tangent space is given. In particular, a characterization of the isolated solutions of the equation f(x) = y is obtained.     

三角函数的推广

利用函数方程定义仿正切函数类,再用仿正切函数定义仿正、余弦函数类,并对这些函数类进行研究.所定义的函数类中的函数具有通常三角函数的性质及运算规律,故而可将其作为三角函数的某种推广.通过实例证实.了通常的正切函数其实是仿正切函数的一种解析延拓.     

多项式不动点的进一步研究

对文[1]中关于多项式不动点的主要定理进行了修正和发展,进而研究了多项式的广义(高阶)不动点,证明了对任意给定的n个点t_1≤t_2≤…≤t_n,存在唯一的首项系数为α∈R(α≠0)的n次多项式P(x)以它们为广义不动点.     

On Conjugations for Functions with Values in Extensions of Ordered Groups

We continue our study of generalized conjugations for functions with values in the canonical enlargement of a complete ordered group, started in [10], which encompass various kinds of known conjugations and polarities. We obtain extensions, to this framework, of some results on d.c. duality theory and subdifferentials, and we give some applications to conjugations and subdifferentials for functions with values in .     

Outer Generalized Inverses in Rings

ABSTRACT

In this article we formulate basic results on outer generalized inverses of elements in rings. We characterize elements which have the same idempotents related to their particular outer generalized inverses and investigate positive generalized inverses in C*-algebras.

Generalized Flows and Singular ODEs on Differentiable Manifolds

Based on the concept of manifold-valued generalized functions, we initiate a study of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with singular (in particular: distributional) right-hand sides in a global setting. After establishing several existence and uniqueness results for solutions of such equations and flows of singular vector fields, we compare the solution concept employed here with the purely distributional setting. Finally, we derive criteria securing that a sequence of smooth flows corresponding to the regularization of a given singular vector field converges to a measurable limiting flow.     

Variation Preserving Extensions and Generalized Essential Variation

A mapping from a subset of the real axis to a metric space with finite generalized variation is shown to admit extension to a mapping of the whole real axis with the same variation. This result leads to characterization of the generalized essential variation of a mapping.

Algorithms for Computing Generalized U(<Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>) Racah Coefficients

Algorithms are developed for computing generalized Racah coefficients for the U(N) groups. The irreducible representations (irreps) of the U(N) groups, as well as their tensor products, are realized as polynomials in complex variables. When tensor product irrep labels as well as a given irrep label are specified, maps are constructed from the irrep space to the tensor product space. The number of linearly independent maps gives the multiplicity. The main theorem of this paper shows that the eigenvalues of generalized Casimir operators are always sufficient to break the multiplicity. Using this theorem algorithms are given for computing the overlap between different sets of eigenvalues of commuting generalized Casimir operators, which are the generalized Racah coefficients.
