It is shown that a germ of a holomorphic mapping sending a real-analytic generic submanifold of finite type into another is determined by its projection on the Segre variety of the target manifold. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for a germ of a mapping into the Segre variety of the target manifold to be the projection of a holomorphic mapping sending the source manifold into the target. The reflexivity, the (semi-)ordinariness, the dimension of dual varieties and the structure of Gauss maps are discussed for Segre varieties, where a Segre variety is the image of the product of two or more projective spaces under Segre embedding. A generalization is given to a theorem of A. Hefez and A. Thorup on Segre varieties of two projective spaces. In particular, a new proof is given to a theorem of F. Knop, G. Menzel, I. M. Gelfand, M.M. Kapranov and A. V. Zelevinsky that states a necessary and sufficient condition for Segre varieties to have codimension one duals. On the other hand, a negative answer is given to a problem raised by S. Kleiman and R. Piene as follows: For a projective variety of dimension at least two, do the Gauss map and the natural projection from the conormal variety to the dual variety have the same inseparable degree?  相似文献

We describe the stratification by tensor rank of the points belonging to the tangent developable of any Segre variety. We give algorithms to compute the rank and a decomposition of a tensor belonging to the secant variety of lines of any Segre variety. We prove Comon's conjecture on the rank of symmetric tensors for those tensors belonging to tangential varieties to Veronese varieties.  相似文献

Two holomorphic fields of geometric objects on a transverse Weil bundle are called equivalent if there exists a holomorphic diffeomorphism of this bundle onto itself which induces the identity transformation of the base manifold and maps one of these fields into the other. In terms of transverse Lie jets, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for a holomorphic field of geometric objects on a transverse Weil bundle to be equivalent to the prolongation of a field of foliated geometric objects given on the base manifold. As an example, we consider a holomorphic linear connection on a transverse bundle.  相似文献

We establish basic techniques for determining the ideals of secant varieties of Segre varieties.We solve a conjecture of Garcia, Stillman, and Sturmfels on the generators of the ideal of the first secant variety in the case of three factors and solve the conjecture set-theoretically for an arbitrary number of factors. We determine the low degree components of the ideals of secant varieties of small dimension in a few cases.  相似文献

It is shown that if a Kähler manifold admits a holomorphic Riemann submersion, then this manifold is locally reducible. Hermann's well-known theorems are generalized to conformal and holomorphic submersions. A method for constructing Kähler fiber spaces with holomorphic conformal (non-Riemannian) projection and totally geodesic isomorphic fibers is suggested. The method allows us to construct complete, including compact, Kähler fiber spaces of the specified type.  相似文献

It is shown that a formal mapping between two real-analytic hypersurfaces in complex space is convergent provided that neither hypersurface contains a nontrivial holomorphic variety. For higher codimensional generic submanifolds, convergence is proved e.g. under the assumption that the source is of finite type, the target does not contain a nontrivial holomorphic variety, and the mapping is finite. Finite determination (by jets of a predetermined order) of formal mappings between smooth generic submanifolds is also established.

A holomorphic Lagrangian fibration on a holomorphically symplectic manifold is a holomorphic map with Lagrangian fibers. It is known (due to Huybrechts) that a given compact manifold admits only finitely many holomorphic symplectic structures, up to deformation. We prove that a given compact, simple hyperkähler manifold with b2?7b2?7 admits only finitely many deformation types of holomorphic Lagrangian fibrations. We also prove that all known hyperkähler manifolds are never Kobayashi hyperbolic.  相似文献

We study real analytic CR manifolds of CR dimension 1 and codimension 2 in the three-dimensional complex space. We prove that the germ of a holomorphic mapping between “nonspherical” manifolds can be extended along any path (this is an analog of Vitushkin’s germ theorem). For a cubic model surface (“sphere”), we prove an analog of the Poincaré theorem on the mappings of spheres into ?2. We construct an example of a compact “spherical” submanifold in a compact complex 3-space such that the germ of a mapping of the “sphere” into this submanifold cannot be extended to a certain point of the “sphere.”  相似文献

The main result of this paper is that a connected bounded geometry complete K?hler manifold which has at least 3 filtered ends admits a proper holomorphic mapping onto a Riemann surface. As an application, it is also proved that any properly ascending HNN extension with finitely generated base group, as well as Thompson’s groups V, T, and F, are not K?hler. The results and techniques also yield a different proof of the theorem of Gromov and Schoen that, for a connected compact K?hler manifold whose fundamental group admits a proper amalgamated product decomposition, some finite unramified cover admits a surjective holomorphic mapping onto a curve of genus at least 2. Let M3 be a non-compact hyperbolic 3-manifold that has a triangulation by positively oriented ideal tetrahedra. We show that the gluing variety defined by the gluing consistency equations is a smooth complex manifold with dimension equal to the number of boundary components of M3. Moreover, we show that the complex lengths of any collection of non-trivial boundary curves, one from each boundary component, give a local holomorphic parameterization of the gluing variety. As an application, some estimates for the size of hyperbolic Dehn surgery space of once-punctured torus bundles are given.  相似文献

We give conditions on the Lee vector field of an almost Hermitian manifold such that any holomorphic map from this manifold into a (1, 2)-symplectic manifold must satisfy the fourth-order condition of being biharmonic, hence generalizing the Lichnerowicz theorem on harmonic maps. These third-order non-linear conditions are shown to greatly simplify on l.c.K. manifolds and construction methods and examples are given in all dimensions.  相似文献
