Let be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on a complex separable Hilbert space For an operator let be the Aluthge transform of T and we define for all where T = U|T| is a polar decomposition of T. In this short note, we consider an elementary property of the range of Δ. We prove that R(Δ) is neither closed nor dense in However R(Δ) is strongly dense if is infinite dimensional. Given a closed ideal I in a C*-algebra A, an ideal J (not necessarily closed) in I , a *-homomorphism α : AM(I ) and a map L : JA with some properties, based on earlier works of Pimsner and Katsura, we define a C*-algebra which we call the Crossed Product by a Partial Endomorphism. We introduce the Crossed Product by a Partial Endomorphism induced by a local homeomorphism σ : UX where X is a compact Hausdorff space and U is an open subset of X. A bijection between the gauge invariant ideals of and the σ, σ-1- invariant open subsets of X is showed. If (X, σ) has the property that is topologically free for each closed σ, σ-1-invariant subset X′ of X then we obtain a bijection between the ideals of and the open σ, σ-1-invariant subsets of X. *Partially supported by CNPq. **Supported by CNPq.  相似文献

Let be a group of affine transformations of the Euclidean plane . Two topological discs D, are called congruent by dissection with respect to if D can be dissected into a finite number of subdiscs that can be rearranged by maps from to a dissection of E. Our main result says in particular that admits congruence by dissection of any circular disc C with any square S if and only if contains a contractive map and all orbits , , are dense in . In this case any two discs D and E are congruent by dissection with respect to and every disc D is congruent by dissection with n copies of D for every n ≥ 2. The main result in Cossidente and Siciliano (J. Number Theory, Vol. 99 (2003) pp. 373–382) states that if a Singer subgroup of PGL(3,q) is an automorphism group of a projective, geometric irreducible, non-singular plane algebraic curve then either or . In the former case is projectively equivalent to the curve with equation Xq+1Y+Yq+1+X=0 studied by Pellikaan. Furthermore, the curve has a very nice property from Finite Geometry point of view: apart from the three distinguished points fixed by the Singer subgroup, the set of its -rational points can be partitioned into finite projective planes . A CDCSL algebra is a reflexive operator algebra with completely distributive and commutative subspace lattice. If 0 < p < ∞ and α > − 1, the space consists of those functions f which are analytic in the unit disc and have the property that f ′ belongs to the weighted Bergman space Aαp. In 1999, Z. Wu obtained a characterization of the Carleson measures for the spaces for certain values of p and α. In particular, he proved that, for 0 < p ≤ 2, the Carleson measures for the space are precisely the classical Carleson measures. Wu also conjectured that this result remains true for 2 < p < ∞. In this paper we prove that this conjecture is false. Indeed, we prove that if 2 < p < ∞, then there exists g analytic in such that the measure μg,p on defined by dμg,p (z) = (1 − |z|2)p - 1| g ′ (z)|p dx dy is not a Carleson measure for but is a classical Carleson measure. For an l-graph , the Turán number is the maximum number of edges in an n-vertex l-graph containing no copy of . The limit is known to exist [8]. The Ramsey–Turán density is defined similarly to except that we restrict to only those with independence number o(n). A result of Erdős and Sós [3] states that as long as for every edge E of there is another edge E′of for which |EE′|≥2. Therefore a natural question is whether there exists for which . Another variant proposed in [3] requires the stronger condition that every set of vertices of of size at least εn (0<ε<1) has density bounded below by some threshold. By definition, for every . However, even is not known for very many l-graphs when l>2. We prove the existence of a phenomenon similar to supersaturation for Turán problems for hypergraphs. As a consequence, we construct, for each l≥3, infinitely many l-graphs for which . We also prove that the 3-graph with triples 12a, 12b, 12c, 13a, 13b, 13c, 23a, 23b, 23c, abc, satisfies . The existence of a hypergraph satisfying was conjectured by Erdős and Sós [3], proved by Frankl and R?dl [6], and later by Sidorenko [14]. The aim of this paper is to give the basic principles of hyperbolic function theory on the Clifford algebra . The structure of the theory is quite similar to the case of Clifford algebras with negative generators, but the proofs are not obvious. The (real) Clifford algebra is generated by unit vectors with positive squares e2i = + 1. The hyperbolic Dirac operator is of the form where Q0f is represented by the composition . Let A be a self-adjoint operator on a Hilbert space . Assume that the spectrum of A consists of two disjoint components σ0 and σ1. Let V be a bounded operator on , off-diagonal and J-self-adjoint with respect to the orthogonal decomposition where and are the spectral subspaces of A associated with the spectral sets σ0 and σ1, respectively. We find (optimal) conditions on V guaranteeing that the perturbed operator LAV is similar to a self-adjoint operator. Moreover, we prove a number of (sharp) norm bounds on the variation of the spectral subspaces of A under the perturbation V. Some of the results obtained are reformulated in terms of the Krein space theory. As an example, the quantum harmonic oscillator under a -symmetric perturbation is discussed.
