We establish an equivalence of two systems of equations of one-dimensional shallow water models describing the propagation of surface waves over even and sloping bottoms. For each of these systems, we obtain formulas for the general form of their nondegenerate solutions, which are expressible in terms of solutions of the Darboux equation. The invariant solutions of the Darboux equation that we find are simplest representatives of its essentially different exact solutions (those not related by invertible point transformations). They depend on 21 arbitrary real constants; after “proliferation” formulas derived by methods of group theory analysis are applied, they generate a 27-parameter family of essentially different exact solutions. Subsequently using the derived infinitesimal “proliferation” formulas for the solutions in this family generates a denumerable set of exact solutions, whose linear span constitutes an infinite-dimensional vector space of solutions of the Darboux equation. This vector space of solutions of the Darboux equation and the general formulas for nondegenerate solutions of systems of shallow water equations with even and sloping bottoms give an infinite set of their solutions. The “proliferation” formulas for these systems determine their additional nondegenerate solutions. We also find all degenerate solutions of these systems and thus construct a database of an infinite set of exact solutions of systems of equations of the one-dimensional nonlinear shallow water model with even and sloping bottoms.  相似文献

In this paper we consider positive solutions of second order quasilinear ordinary differential equations with singular nonlinearities. We obtain asymptotic equivalence theorems for asymptotically superlinear solutions and decaying solutions. By using these theorems, exact asymptotic forms of such solutions are determined. Furthermore, we can establish the uniqueness of decaying solutions as an application of our results.  相似文献

In the present paper, we apply the method of invariant sets of descending flow to establish a series of criteria to ensure that a second-order nonlinear functional difference equation with periodic boundary conditions possesses at least one trivial solution and three nontrivial solutions. These nontrivial solutions consist of sign-changing solutions, positive solutions and negative solutions. Moreover, as an application of our theoretical results, an example is elaborated. Harmonic Balance is a very popular semi-analytic method in nonlinear dynamics. It is easy to apply and is known to produce good results for numerous examples. Adding an error criterion taking into account the neglected terms allows an evaluation of the results. Looking on the therefore determined error for increasing ansatz orders, it can be evaluated whether a solution really exists or is an artifact. For the low-error solutions additionally a stability analysis is performed which allows the classification of the solutions in three types, namely in large error solutions, low error stable solutions and low error unstable solution. Examples considered in this paper are the classical Duffing oscillator and an extended Duffing oscillator with nonlinear damping and excitation. Compared to numerical integration, the proposed procedure offers a faster calculation of existing multiple solutions and their character.  相似文献

Three-dimensional problems are systematically investigated for the coupled equations in two-dimensional hexagonal quasicrystals, and two new general solutions, which are called generalized Lekhnitskii–Hu–Nowacki (LHN) solutions and generalized Elliott–Lodge (E–L) solutions, are presented, respectively. By introducing two higher-order displacement functions, an operator analysis technique is applied in a novel way to obtain generalized LHN solutions. For further simplification, a decomposition and superposition procedure is taken to replace the higher-order displacement functions with five quasi-harmonic displacement functions, and then generalized E–L solutions are simplified in terms of these functions. In consideration of different cases of characteristic roots, generalized E–L solutions take different forms, but all are in simple forms that are conveniently applied. To illustrate the application of the general solutions obtained, the closed form solution is obtained for an infinite quasicrystal medium subjected to a point force at an arbitrary point.  相似文献

We consider three-dimensional subalgebras admitted by the equations of gas dynamics having time as an invariant and containing no rotation operator. For such subalgebras we seek for irregular partially invariant solutions of rank 2 and defect 1. The representation for solutions has the form which generalizes motion of a gas with a linear velocity field. We show that partially invariant solutions exist for each subalgebra. We describe the set of these solutions. We find solutions with the indicated representation that are not partially invariant. The solutions reducible to invariant solutions are generalized to new submodels.  相似文献

One method to determine the asymptotics of particular solutions of a difference equation is by solving an associated asymptotic functional equation. Here we study the behaviour of the solutions in an asymptotic neighbourhood of such individual solutions. We identify several types of attraction and repulsion, which range from almost orthogonality to almost parallelness. In this paper, an extended algebraic method with symbolic computation is applied to construct a series of travelling wave solutions of the one-dimensional generalized BBM equation of any order with positive and negative exponents. We construct solutions of analogues of a time-dependent Schrödinger equation corresponding to an isomonodromic polynomial Hamiltonian of a Garnier system with two degrees of freedom. The solutions are determined by solutions of linear differential equations whose compatibility condition is the given Garnier system. With explicit substitutions, these solutions reduce to solutions of the Belavin–Polyakov–Zamolodchikov equations with four times and two spatial variables.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to a general similarity boundary layer equation for power-law fluids, which includes many important similarity boundary layer problems such as the Falker-Skan equation and the magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer equation which arises in the study of self-similar solutions of the two-dimensional steady laminar boundary layer flow for an incompressible electrically conducting power-law fluids along an isolated surface in the presence of an exterior magnetic field orthogonal to the flow. By a rigorous mathematical analysis, the uniqueness, existence and nonexistence results for convex solutions, normal convex solutions and generalized convex solutions to the general similarity boundary layer equation are established. Also the asymptotic behavior of the normal convex solutions at the infinity are displayed.  相似文献

We study a two-dimensional system in solid rotation at constant angular velocity driven by a self-consistent three-dimensional gravitational field. We prove the existence of stationary solutions of such a flat system in the rotating frame as long as the angular velocity does not exceed some critical value which depends on the mass. The solutions can be seen as stationary solutions of a kinetic equation with a relaxation-time collision kernel forcing the convergence to the polytropic gas solutions, or as stationary solutions of an extremely simplified drift-diffusion model, which is derived from the kinetic equation by formally taking a diffusion limit. In both cases, the solutions are critical points of a free energy functional, and can be seen as localized minimizers in an appropriate sense.  相似文献

In this paper an algebraic method is devised to uniformly construct a series of complete new exact solutions for general nonlinear equations. In this paper, we study the existence of mild solutions of a semilinear evolution equation on an unbounded interval. The rapidity of the growth of those solutions is characterized. Moreover, we investigate the local and global attractivity of solutions of an equation in question and we describe their asymptotic behaviour. Variational gluing arguments are employed to construct new families of solutions for a class of semilinear elliptic PDEs. The main tools are the use of invariant regions for an associated heat flow and variational arguments. The latter provide a characterization of critical values of an associated functional. Group-invariance under infinitesimal transformations is used to generate a wide class of solutions of some Fokker-Planck equations. The partial differential equation in two variables is reduced to an ordinary differential equation; reduction of the latter to standard forms is noted in most cases. Some of the known existing solutions are obtained as particular cases. Only self-similar types of solutions are discussed. The appearance of a free parameter that can be treated as an eigenvalue (or transform variable) offers flexibility in constructing new solutions. Some solutions of this parabolic equation have wave-like features. The general results can also be used to solve some types of moving-boundary problems.  相似文献
