In this work, we propose a Jacobi-collocation method to solve the second kind linear Fredholm integral equations with weakly singular kernels. Particularly, we consider the case when the underlying solutions are sufficiently smooth. In this case, the proposed method leads to a fully discrete linear system. We show that the fully discrete integral operator is stable in both infinite and weighted square norms. Furthermore, we establish that the approximate solution arrives at an optimal convergence order under the two norms. Finally, we give some numerical examples, which confirm the theoretical prediction of the exponential rate of convergence.  相似文献

This paper describes a new numerical method for the solution of large linear discrete ill-posed problems, whose matrix is a Kronecker product. Problems of this kind arise, for instance, from the discretization of Fredholm integral equations of the first kind in two space-dimensions with a separable kernel. The available data (right-hand side) of many linear discrete ill-posed problems that arise in applications is contaminated by measurement errors. Straightforward solution of these problems generally is not meaningful because of severe error propagation. We discuss how to combine the truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) with reduced rank vector extrapolation to determine computed approximate solutions that are fairly insensitive to the error in the data. Exploitation of the structure of the problem keeps the computational effort quite small.  相似文献

The higher order singular value decomposition, which is regarded as a generalization of the matrix singular value decomposition (SVD), has a long history and is well established, while the T‐SVD is relatively new and lacks systematic analysis. Because of the unusual tensor‐tensor product that the T‐SVD is based on, the form of the T‐SVD may be difficult to comprehend. The main aim of this article is to establish a connection between these two decompositions. By converting the form of the T‐SVD into the sum of outer product terms, we compare the forms of the two decompositions. Moreover, from establishing the connection, a new decomposition which has a specific nonzero pattern, is proposed and developed. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the useful ability of the new decomposition for approximation and data compression.  相似文献

We consider algebras of singular integral operators with shift and piecewise Hölder coefficients in a Hölder weighted space on a Lyapunov contour. For this algebra, we construct the similarity isomorphism to the algebra of singular integral operators with piecewise Hölder coefficients in a Hölder space with “canonical” weight on the circle. In this paper we consider the singular value decomposition (SVD) of a fundamental matrix solution in order to approximate the Lyapunov and exponential dichotomy spectra of a given system. One of our main results is to prove that SVD techniques are sound approaches for systems with stable and distinct Lyapunov exponents. We also show how the information which emerges with the SVD techniques can be used to obtain information on the growth directions associated to given spectral intervals.  相似文献

We find closed-form formulas for the solution of the simplest singular integral equation with Cauchy kernel on the real axis and use them to reduce the full singular integral equation considered in the paper to a Fredholm equation. In this paper, Sinc-collocation method is used to approximate the solution of weakly singular nonlinear Fredholm integral equations of the first kind. Some of the important advantages of this method are rate of convergence of an approximate solution and simplicity for performing even in the presence of singularities. The convergence analysis of the proposed method is proved by preparing the theorems which show the errors decay exponentially and guarantee the applicability of that. Finally, several numerical examples are considered to show the capabilities, validity, and accuracy of the numerical scheme.  相似文献

The author proposes a numerical procedure in order to approximate the solution of a class of Fredholm integral equations of the third kind on unbounded domains. The given equation is transformed in a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. Hence, according to the integration interval, the equation is regularized by means of a suitable one-to-one map or is transformed in a system of two Fredholm integral equations that are subsequently regularized. In both cases a Nyström method is applied, the convergence and the stability of which are proved in spaces of weighted continuous functions. In this paper, the weakly singular Volterra integral equations with an infinite set of solutions are investigated. Among the set of solutions only one particular solution is smooth and all others are singular at the origin. The numerical solutions of this class of equations have been a difficult topic to analyze and have received much previous investigation. The aim of this paper is to present a numerical technique for giving the approximate solution to the only smooth solution based on reproducing kernel theory. Applying weighted integral, we provide a new definition for reproducing kernel space and obtain reproducing kernel function. Using the good properties of reproducing kernel function, the only smooth solution is exactly expressed in the form of series. The n-term approximate solution is obtained by truncating the series. Meanwhile, we prove that the derivative of approximation converges to the derivative of exact solution uniformly. The final numerical examples compared with other methods show that the method is efficient.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to study of singular integral operators with fixed singularities at endpoints of contours on weighted Lebesgue spaces with general Muckenhoupt weights. Compactness of certain integral operators with fixed singularities is established. The membership of singular integral operators with fixed singularities to Banach algebras of singular integral operators on weighted Lebesgue spaces with slowly oscillating Muckenhoupt weights is proved on the basis of Balakrishnans formula from the theory of strongly continuous semi-groups of closed linear operators. Symbol calculus for such operators, Fredholm criteria and index formulas are obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, we comment on the recent papers by Yuhe Ren et al. (1999) [1] and Maleknejad et al. (2006) [7] concerning the use of the Taylor series to approximate a solution of the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind as well as a solution of a system of Fredholm equations. The technique presented in Yuhe Ren et al. (1999) [1] takes advantage of a rapidly decaying convolution kernel k(|st|) as |st| increases. However, it does not apply to equations having other types of kernels. We present in this paper a more general Taylor expansion method which can be applied to approximate a solution of the Fredholm equation having a smooth kernel. Also, it is shown that when the new method is applied to the Fredholm equation with a rapidly decaying kernel, it provides more accurate results than the method in Yuhe Ren et al. (1999) [1]. We also discuss an application of the new Taylor-series method to a system of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind.  相似文献

A reproducing kernel method is proposed to obtain the optimal and approximate solutions of Carleman singular integral equations. Therefore, we will be mostly interested in singular integral equations with a Cauchy type kernel and whose coefficients are real or complex valued functions. The new method and corresponding concepts allow the analysis of associated discrete singular integral equations and corresponding inverse source problems in appropriate frameworks.  相似文献
