Both discrete and distributed delays are considered in a two‐neuron system. We analyze the influence of interaction coefficient and time delay on the Hopf‐pitchfork bifurcation. First, we obtain the codimension‐2 unfolding with original parameters for Hopf‐pitchfork bifurcation by using the center manifold reduction and the normal form method. Next, through analyzing the unfolding structure, we give complete bifurcation diagrams and phase portraits, in which multistability and other dynamical behaviors of the original system are found, such as a stable periodic orbit, the coexistence of two stable nontrivial equilibria, and the coexistence of a stable periodic orbit and two stable equilibria. In addition, the obtained theoretical results are verified by numerical simulations. Finally, we perform the comparisons of the obtained results of Hopf‐pitchfork bifurcation with other Hopf‐fold bifurcation results in some biological neural systems and give the obtained mathematical results corresponding to the physical states of neurons. In this paper, We investigate Hopf-zero bifurcation with codimension 2 in a delayed predator-prey model with dormancy of predators. First we prove the specific existence condition of the coexistence equilibrium. Then we take the mortality rate and time delay as two bifurcation parameters to find the occurrence condition of Hopf-zero bifurcation in this model. Furthermore, using the Faria and Magalhases normal form method and the center manifold theory, we obtain the third order degenerate normal form with two original parameters. Finally, through theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, we give a bifurcation set and a phase diagram to show the specific relations between the normal form and the original system, and explain the coexistence phenomena of several locally stable states, such as the coexistence of multi-periodic orbits, as well as the coexistence of a locally stable equilibrium and a locally stable periodic orbit.  相似文献

In this paper, we identify the critical point for a Hopf-pitchfork bifurcation in a nonlinear financial system with delay, and derive the normal form up to third order with their unfolding in original system parameters near the bifurcation point by normal form method and center manifold theory. Furthermore, we analyze its local dynamical behaviors, and show the coexistence of a pair of stable periodic solutions. We also show that there coexist a pair of stable small-amplitude periodic solutions and a pair of stable large-amplitude periodic solutions for different initial values. Finally, we give the bifurcation diagram with numerical illustration, showing that the pair of stable small-amplitude periodic solutions can also exist in a large region of unfolding parameters, and the financial system with delay can exhibit chaos via period-doubling bifurcations as the unfolding parameter values are far away from the critical point of the Hopf-pitchfork bifurcation.  相似文献

Firstly, we analyze a codimension-two unfolding for the Hopf-transcritical bifurcation, and give complete bifurcation diagrams and phase portraits. In particular, we express explicitly the heteroclinic bifurcation curve, and obtain conditions under which the secondary bifurcation periodic solutions and the heteroclinic orbit are stable. Secondly, we show how to reduce general retarded functional differential equation, with perturbation parameters near the critical point of the Hopf-transcritical bifurcation, to a 3-dimensional ordinary differential equation which is restricted on the center manifold up to the third order with unfolding parameters, and further reduce it to a 2-dimensional amplitude system, where these unfolding parameters can be expressed by those original perturbation parameters. Finally, we apply the general results to the van der Pol’s equation with delayed feedback, and obtain the existence of stable or unstable equilibria, periodic solutions and quasi-periodic solutions.  相似文献

Two-parameter bifurcations in a network of two neurons with multiple delays   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We consider a network of two coupled neurons with delayed feedback. We show that the connection topology of the network plays a fundamental role in classifying the rich dynamics and bifurcation phenomena. Regarding eigenvalues of the connection matrix as bifurcation parameters, we obtain codimension 1 bifurcations (including a fold bifurcation and a Hopf bifurcation) and codimension 2 bifurcations (including fold-Hopf bifurcations and Hopf-Hopf bifurcations). We also give concrete formulae for the normal form coefficients derived via the center manifold reduction that give detailed information about the bifurcation and stability of various bifurcated solutions. In particular, we obtain stable or unstable equilibria, periodic solutions, quasi-periodic solutions, and sphere-like surfaces of solutions. We also show how to evaluate critical normal form coefficients from the original system of delay-differential equations without computing the corresponding center manifolds.  相似文献

The interactions of diffusion-driven Turing instability and delay-induced Hopf bifurcation always give rise to rich spatiotemporal dynamics. In this paper, we first derive the algorithm for the normal forms associated with the Turing-Hopf bifurcation in the reaction-diffusion system with delay, which can be used to investigate the spatiotemporal dynamical classification near the Turing-Hopf bifurcation point in the parameter plane. Then, we consider a diffusive predator-prey model with weak Allee effect and delay. Through investigating the dynamics of the corresponding normal form of Turing-Hopf bifurcation induced by diffusion and delay, the spatiotemporal dynamics near this bifurcation point can be divided into six categories. Especially, stable spatially homogeneous/inhomogeneous periodic solutions and steady states, coexistence of two stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions, coexistence of two stable spaially inhomogeneous steady states and the transition from one kind of spatiotemporal patterns to another are found.  相似文献

This paper analyzes the stochastic resonance induced by a novel transition of one-dimensional bistable system in the neighborhood of bifurcation point with the method of moment, which refer to the transition of system motion among a potential well of stable fixed point before bifurcation of original system and double-well potential of two coexisting stable fixed points after original system bifurcation at the presence of internal noise. The results show: the semi-analytical result of stochastic resonance of one-dimensional bistable system in the neighborhood of bifurcation point may be obtained, and the semi-analytical result is in accord with the one of Monte Carlo simulation qualitatively, the occurrence of stochastic resonance is related to the bifurcation of noisy nonlinear dynamical system moment equations, which induce the transfer of energy of ensemble average (Ex) of system response in each frequency component and make the energy of ensemble average of system response concentrate on the frequency of input signal, stochastic resonance occurs.  相似文献

In this paper, the bifurcations of a discrete stage-structured population model with self-limitation between the two subgroups are investigated. We explore all possible codimension-one bifurcations associated with transcritical, flip (period doubling) and Neimark-Sacker bifurcations and discuss the stabilities of the fixed points in these non-hyperbolic cases. Meanwhile, we give the explicit approximate expression of the closed invariant curve which is caused by the Neimark-Sacker bifurcation. After that, through the theory of approximation by a flow, we explore the codimension two bifurcations associated with 1:3 strong resonance. We convert the nondegenerate condition of 1:3 resonance into a parametric polynomial, and determine its sign by the theory of complete discrimination system. We introduce new parameters and utilize some variable substitutions to obtain the bifurcation curves around 1:3 resonance, which are returned to the original variables and parameters to express for easy verification. By using a series of complicated approximate identity transformations and polar coordinate transformation, we explore 1:6 weak resonance. Moreover, we calculate the two boundaries of Arnold tongue which are caused by 1:6 weak resonance and defined as the resonance region. Numerical simulations and numerical bifurcation analyzes are made to demonstrate the effective of the theoretical analyzes and to present the relations between these bifurcations. Furthermore, our theoretical analyzes and numerical simulations are explained from the biological point of view.  相似文献

In order to further understand a complex 3D dynamical system showing strange chaotic attractors with two stable node-foci near Hopf bifurcation point, we propose nonlinear control scheme to the system and the controlled system, depending on five parameters, can exhibit codimension one, two, and three Hopf bifurcations in a much larger parameter regain. The control strategy used keeps the equilibrium structure of the chaotic system and can be applied to degenerate Hopf bifurcation at the desired location with preferred stability.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop an efficient approach to compute the equivariant normal form of delay differential equations with parameters in the presence of symmetry. We present and justify a process that involves center manifold reduction and normalization preserving the symmetry, and that yields normal forms explicitly in terms of the coefficients of the original system. We observe that the form of the reduced vector field relies only on the information of the linearized system at the critical point and on the inherent symmetry, and the normal forms give critical information about not only the existence but also the stability and direction of bifurcated spatiotemporal patterns. We illustrate our general results by some applications to fold bifurcation, equivariant Hopf bifurcation and Hopf-Hopf interaction, with a detailed case study of additive neurons with delayed feedback.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the stability of equilibria, Hopf and double Hopf bifurcation in Liu system with delay feedback. Firstly, we identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcationusing the method of bifurcation analysis. When we choose appropriate feedback strength and delay, two symmetrical nontrivial equilibria of Liusystem can be controlled to be stable at the same time, and the stable bifurcating periodic solutions occur in the neighborhood of the two equilibria at the same time. Secondly, by applying the normal form method and center manifold theory, the normal form near the double Hopf bifurcation, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, we give the bifurcation diagram to illustrate numerically that a family of stable periodic solutions bifurcated from Hopf bifurcation occur in a large region of delay and the Liu system with delay can appear the phenomenon of ``chaos switchover''.  相似文献

We consider the system of delay differential equations (DDE) representing the models containing two cells with time-delayed connections. We investigate global, local stability and the bifurcations of the trivial solution under some generic conditions on the Taylor coefficients of the DDE. Regarding eigenvalues of the connection matrix as bifurcation parameters, we obtain codimension one bifurcations (including pitchfork, transcritical and Hopf bifurcation) and Takens-Bogdanov bifurcation as a codimension two bifurcation. For application purposes, this is important since one can now identify the possible asymptotic dynamics of the DDE near the bifurcation points by computing quantities which depend explicitly on the Taylor coefficients of the original DDE. Finally, we show that the analytical results agree with numerical simulations.  相似文献

In this paper, a reaction‐diffusion predator–prey system that incorporates the Holling‐type II and a modified Leslie‐Gower functional responses is considered. For ODE, the local stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated and the specific conditions are obtained. For partial differential equation, we consider the dissipation and persistence of solutions, the Turing instability of the equilibrium solutions, and the Hopf bifurcation. By calculating the normal form, we derive the formulae, which can determine the direction and the stability of Hopf bifurcation according to the original parameters of the system. We also use some numerical simulations to illustrate our theoretical results. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The present paper is concerned with a delayed predator–prey diffusion system with a Beddington–DeAngelis functional response and homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. If the positive constant steady state of the corresponding system without delay is stable, by choosing the delay as the bifurcation parameter, we can show that the increase of the delay can not only cause spatially homogeneous Hopf bifurcation at the positive constant steady state but also give rise to spatially heterogeneous ones. In particular, under appropriate conditions, we find that the system has a Bogdanov–Takens singularity at the positive constant steady state, whereas this singularity does not occur for the corresponding system without diffusion. In addition, by applying the normal form theory and center manifold theorem for partial functional differential equations, we give normal forms of Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation and the explicit formula for determining the properties of spatial Hopf bifurcations.  相似文献

Gierer–Meinhardt system as a molecularly plausible model has been proposed to formalize the observation for pattern formation. In this paper, the Gierer–Meinhardt model without the saturating term is considered. By the linear stability analysis, we not only give out the conditions ensuring the stability and Turing instability of the positive equilibrium but also find the parameter values where possible Turing–Hopf and spatial resonance bifurcation can occur. Then we develop the general algorithm for the calculations of normal form associated with codimension-2 spatial resonance bifurcation to better understand the dynamics neighboring of the bifurcating point. The spatial resonance bifurcation reveals the interaction of two steady state solutions with different modes. Numerical simulations are employed to illustrate the theoretical results for both the Turing–Hopf bifurcation and spatial resonance bifurcation. Some expected solutions including stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions and coexisting stable spatially steady state solutions evolve from Turing–Hopf bifurcation and spatial resonance bifurcation respectively.  相似文献

This paper presents a 4D new hyperchaotic system which is constructed by a linear controller to a 3D new chaotic system with one saddle and two stable node-foci. Some complex dynamical behaviors such as ultimate boundedness, chaos and hyperchaos of the simple 4D autonomous system are investigated and analyzed. The corresponding bounded hyperchaotic and chaotic attractor is first numerically verified through investigating phase trajectories, Lyapunove exponents, bifurcation path, analysis of power spectrum and Poincaré projections. Finally, two complete mathematical characterizations for 4D Hopf bifurcation are rigorous derived and studied.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with complex dynamical behaviors of a simple unified SIR and HIV disease model with a convex incidence and four real parameters. Due to the complex nature of the disease dynamics, our goal is to explore bifurcations including multistable states, limit cycles, and homoclinic loops in the whole parameter space. The first contribution is the proof of the existence of multiple limit cycles giving rise from Hopf bifurcation, which further induces bistable or tristable states because of the coexistence of stable equilibria and periodic motion. Next, we propose that the existence of Bogdanov–Takens (BT) bifurcation yields the bifurcation of homoclinic loops, which provides a new mechanism for generating disease recurrence, for example, the relapse–remission, viral blip cycles in HIV infection. Last, we present a novel method for the derivation of the normal forms of codimension two and three BT bifurcations. The method is based on the simplest normal form theory from Yu’s previous works.

In this paper, we study the influence of the nonlocal interspecific competition of the prey population on the dynamics of the diffusive predator-prey model with prey social behavior. Using the linear stability analysis, the conditions for the positive constant steady state at which undergoes Hopf bifurcation, T-H bifurcation (Turing-Hopf bifurcation) are investigated. The Turing patterns occur in the presence of the nonlocal competition and cannot be found in the original system. For determining the dynamical behavior near T-H bifurcation point, the normal form of the T-H bifurcation has been used. Some graphical representations are provided to illustrate the theoretical results.  相似文献
