In this paper, we study the problem of homoclinic orbits to Aubry sets for time-periodic positive definite Lagrangian systems. We show that there are infinitely many homoclinic orbits to some Aubry set under the conditions that the associated Mather set is uniquely ergodic and the first relative homology group of the projection of this Aubry set is nonzero.  相似文献

In this paper, we shall consider the global structure of positive bounded systems on the plane which have m singular points, but not any closed orbits and singular closed orbits. We shall prove that these systems have at least m−1 connecting orbits; and all the connecting orbits, homoclinic orbits and singular points constitute a compact simply connected set. Each of other orbits tends to a singular point as t→+∞, and approaches to the infinity as t→−∞.  相似文献

This paper concerns the global structure of planar systems. It is shown that if a positively bounded system with two singular points has no closed orbits, the set of all bounded solutions is compact and simply connected. Also it is shown that for such a system the existence of connecting orbits is tightly related to the behavior of homoclinic orbits. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of connecting orbits is given. In this paper, we find a bridge connecting a class of vector fields in ℝ3 with the planar vector fields and give a criterion of the existence of closed orbits, heteroclinic orbits and homoclinic orbits of a class of vector fields in ℝ3. All the possible nonwandering sets of this class of vector fields fall into three classes: (i) singularities; (ii) closed orbits; (iii) graphs of unions of singularities and the trajectories connecting them. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of the vector fields are also obtained.  相似文献

We prove that the chain-transitive sets of C1-generic diffeomorphisms are approximated in the Hausdorff topology by periodic orbits. This implies that the homoclinic classes are dense among the chain-recurrence classes. This result is a consequence of a global connecting lemma, which allows to build by a C1-perturbation an orbit connecting several prescribed points. One deduces a weak shadowing property satisfied by C1-generic diffeomorphisms: any pseudo-orbit is approximated in the Hausdorff topology by a finite segment of a genuine orbit. As a consequence, we obtain a criterion for proving the tolerance stability conjecture in Diff1(M).  相似文献

We consider periodic perturbations of conservative systems. The unperturbed systems are assumed to have two nonhyperbolic equilibria connected by a heteroclinic orbit on each level set of conservative quantities. These equilibria construct two normally hyperbolic invariant manifolds in the unperturbed phase space, and by invariant manifold theory there exist two normally hyperbolic, locally invariant manifolds in the perturbed phase space. We extend Melnikov’s method to give a condition under which the stable and unstable manifolds of these locally invariant manifolds intersect transversely. Moreover, when the locally invariant manifolds consist of nonhyperbolic periodic orbits, we show that there can exist heteroclinic orbits connecting periodic orbits near the unperturbed equilibria on distinct level sets. This behavior can occur even when the two unperturbed equilibria on each level set coincide and have a homoclinic orbit. In addition, it yields transition motions between neighborhoods of very distant periodic orbits, which are similar to Arnold diffusion for three or more degree of freedom Hamiltonian systems possessing a sequence of heteroclinic orbits to invariant tori, if there exists a sequence of heteroclinic orbits connecting periodic orbits successively.We illustrate our theory for rotational motions of a periodically forced rigid body. Numerical computations to support the theoretical results are also given.  相似文献

Given a compact Riemannian manifold together with a group of isometries, we discuss MCF of the orbits and some applications: e.g., finding minimal orbits. We then specialize to Lagrangian orbits in Kaehler manifolds. In particular, in the Kaehler-Einstein case we find a relation between MCF and moment maps which, for example, proves that the minimal Lagrangian orbits are isolated.

In this paper, the multiplicity of Lagrangian orbits on C2 smooth compact symmetric star-shaped hypersurfaces with respect to the origin in R2n is studied. These Lagrangian orbits begin from one Lagrangian subspace and end on another. An infinitely many existence result is proved via Z2-index theory. This is a multiplicity result about the Arnold Chord Conjecture in some sense, and is a generalization of the problem about the multiplicity of Lagrangian orbits beginning from and ending on the same Lagrangian subspace which was considered in the authors' previous paper [F. Guo, C. Liu, Multiplicity of Lagrangian orbits on symmetric star-shaped hypersurfaces, Nonlinear Anal. 69 (4) (2008) 1425-1436].  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the isolated closed orbits of two types of cubic vector fields in R3 by using the idea of central projection transformation, which sets up a bridge connecting the vector field X(x) in R3 with the planar vector fields. We have proved that the cubic vector field in R3 can have two isolated closed orbits or one closed orbit on the invariant cone. As an application of this result, we have shown that a class of 3-dimensional cubic system has at least 10 isolated closed orbits located on 5 invariant cones, and another type of 3-dimensional cubic system has at least 26 isolated closed orbits located on 13 invariant cones or 26 invariant cones.  相似文献

We use a geometric construction to exhibit examples of autonomous Lagrangian systems admitting exactly two homoclinics emanating from a nondegenerate maximum of the potential energy and reaching a regular level of the potential having the same value of the maximum point. Similarly, we show examples of Hamiltonian systems that admit exactly two brake orbits in an annular potential region connecting the two connected components of the boundary of the potential well. These examples show that the estimates proven in [2] are sharp.  相似文献

We find the first examples of real hypersurfaces with two nonconstant principal curvatures in complex projective and hyperbolic planes, and we classify them. It turns out that each such hypersurface is foliated by equidistant Lagrangian flat surfaces with parallel mean curvature or, equivalently, by principal orbits of a cohomogeneity two polar action.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a numerical method for approximating connecting orbits on a manifold and its bifurcation parameters. First we extend the standard nondegeneracy condition to the connecting orbits on a manifold. Then we construct a well-posed system such that the nondegenerate connecting orbit pair on a manifold is its regular solution. We use a difference method to discretize the ODE part in this well-posed system and we find that the numerical solutions still remain on the same manifold. We also set up a modified projection boundary condition to truncate connecting orbits on a manifold onto a finite interval. Then we prove the existence of truncated approximate connecting orbit pairs and derive error estimates. Finally, we carry out some numerical experiments to illustrate the theoretical estimates.  相似文献
