Traveling wave solutions have played a vital role in demonstrating the wave character of nonlinear problems emerging in the field of mathematical sciences and engineering. To depict the nature of propagation of the nonlinear waves in nature, a range of nonlinear evolution equations has been proposed and investigated in the existing literature. In this article, solitary and traveling periodic wave solutions for the (2 + 1)-dimensional modified KdV-KP equation are derived by employing an ansatz method, named the enhanced (G′/G)-expansion method. For this continued equation, abundant solitary wave solutions and nonlinear periodic wave solutions, along with some free parameters, are obtained. We have derived the exact expressions for the solitary waves that arise in the continuum-modified KdV-KP model. We study the significance of parameters numerically that arise in the obtained solutions. These parameters play an important role in the physical structure and propagation directions of the wave that characterizes the wave pattern. We discuss the relation between velocity and parameters and illustrate them graphically. Our numerical analysis suggests that the taller solitons are narrower than shorter waves and can travel faster. In addition, graphical representations of some obtained solutions along with their contour plot and wave train profiles are presented. The speed, as well as the profile of these solitary waves, is highly sensitive to the free parameters. Our results establish that the continuum-modified KdV-KP system supports solitary waves having different shapes and speeds for different values of the parameters.  相似文献

We compute and study localized nonlinear modes (solitons) in the semi-infinite gap of the focusing two-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with various irregular lattice-type potentials. The potentials are characterized by large variations from periodicity, such as vacancy defects, edge dislocations, and a quasicrystal structure. We use a spectral fixed-point computational scheme to obtain the solitons. The eigenvalue dependence of the soliton power indicates parameter regions of self-focusing instability; we compare these results with direct numerical simulations of the NLS equation. We show that in the general case, solitons on local lattice maximums collapse. Furthermore, we show that the Nth-order quasicrystal solitons approach Bessel solitons in the large-N limit.  相似文献

The propagation of the optical solitons is usually governed by the nonlinear Schrödinger equations. In this article, the two variable (G'/G, 1/G)-expansion method is employed to construct exact traveling wave solutions with parameters of two higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equations describing the propagation of femtosecond pulses in nonlinear optical fibers. When the parameters are replaced by special values, the well-known solitary wave solutions of these equations rediscovered from the traveling waves. Thismethod can be thought of as the generalization of well-known original (G'/G)-expansion method proposed by M. Wang et al. It is shown that the two variable (G'/G, 1/G)-expansion method provides a more powerful mathematical tool for solving many other nonlinear PDEs in mathematical physics.  相似文献

We apply the variational approximation to study the dynamics of solitary waves of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with compensative cubic‐quintic nonlinearity for asymmetric 2‐dimension setup. Such an approach allows to study the behavior of the solitons trapped in quasisymmetric potentials without an axial symmetry. Our analytical consideration allows finding the soliton profiles that are stable in a quasisymmetric geometry. We show that small perturbations of such states lead to generation of the oscillatory‐bounded solutions having 2 independent eigenfrequencies relating to the quintic nonlinear parameter. The behavior of solutions with large amplitudes is studied numerically. The resonant case when the frequency of the time variations (time managed) potential is near of the eigenfrequencies is studied too. In a resonant situation, the solitons acquire a weak time decay.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the problem formulation of dust plasmas with positively charge, cold dust fluid with negatively charge, thermal electrons, ionized electrons, and immovable background neutral particles. We obtain the dust‐ion‐acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs) under nonmagnetized collision dusty plasma. By using the reductive perturbation technique, the nonlinear damped Korteweg‐de Vries (D‐KdV) equation is formulated. We found the solutions for nonlinear D‐KdV equation. The constructed solutions represent as bright solitons, dark solitons, kink wave and antikinks wave solitons, and periodic traveling waves. The physical interpretation of constructed solutions is represented by two‐ and three‐dimensional graphically models to understand the physical aspects of various behavior for DIASWs. These investigation prove that proposed techniques are more helpful, fruitful, powerful, and efficient to study analytically the other nonlinear nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) that arise in engineering, plasma physics, mathematical physics, and many other branches of applied sciences.  相似文献

Coupled-Nonlinear Schrödinger equations, linked by cross modulation terms, arise in both nonlinear optics and in Rossby waves in the atmosphere and ocean. In this paper, we derive exact, analytic solutions for the “bright” coupled-mode soliton, for which the envelope in each mode asymptotes to zero at spatial infinity, and for its spatially periodic generalization. We then numerically study the collisions of the coupled-mode solitary wave both with a conventional envelope soliton, confined to a single mode, and also with a second coupled-mode solitary wave. The collisions are sensitive to both the relative speed and phase of the solitons. In some parameter ranges, the collisions are nearly elastic, but in others, one or both solitons fission.  相似文献

In this paper, we construct a second order semi-explicit multi-symplectic integrator for the strongly coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation based on the two-stage Lobatto IIIA-IIIB partitioned Runge-Kutta method. Numerical results for different solitary wave solutions including elastic and inelastic collisions, fusion of two solitons and with periodic solutions confirm the excellent long time behavior of the multi-symplectic integrator by preserving global energy, momentum and mass.  相似文献

The equations are represented in a simplified format with only a few leading terms needed in the expansion. The set of equations are then solved numerically using vector finite element method. To validate our algorithm, we analyzed a two-dimensional rectangular waveguide consisting of a linear core and nonlinear identical cladding. The exact nonlinear solutions for three different modes of propagations, TE0, TE1, and TE2 modes are generated and compared with the computed solutions. Next, we investigate the effect of a more intense monochromatic field on the propagation of a “weak” optical field in a fully three-dimensional cylindrical waveguide.  相似文献

Variational methods are employed to generate families of both regular and embedded solitary wave solutions for a generalized Pochammer PDE that is currently of great interest. The technique for obtaining the embedded solitons incorporates several recent generalizations of the usual variational technique and is thus topical in itself. One unusual feature of the solitary waves derived here is that we are able to obtain them in analytical form (within the family of the trial functions). Thus, a direct error analysis is performed, showing the accuracy of the resulting solitary waves. Given the importance of solitary wave solutions in wave dynamics and information propagation in nonlinear PDEs, as well as the fact that only the parameter regimes for the existence of solitary waves had previously been analyzed for the microstructure PDE considered here, the results obtained here are both new and timely.  相似文献

The Ostrovsky equation is an important canonical model for the unidirectional propagation of weakly nonlinear long surface and internal waves in a rotating, inviscid and incompressible fluid. Limited functional analytic results exist for the occurrence of one family of solitary-wave solutions of this equation, as well as their approach to the well-known solitons of the famous Korteweg–de Vries equation in the limit as the rotation becomes vanishingly small. Since solitary-wave solutions often play a central role in the long-time evolution of an initial disturbance, we consider such solutions here (via the normal form approach) within the framework of reversible systems theory. Besides confirming the existence of the known family of solitary waves and its reduction to the KdV limit, we find a second family of multihumped (or N-pulse) solutions, as well as a continuum of delocalized solitary waves (or homoclinics to small-amplitude periodic orbits). On isolated curves in the relevant parameter region, the delocalized waves reduce to genuine embedded solitons. The second and third families of solutions occur in regions of parameter space distinct from the known solitary-wave solutions and are thus entirely new. Directions for future work are also mentioned.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of solitary waves and solitons whose existence is related to the ratio energy/charge. These solitary waves are called hylomorphic. This class includes the Q-balls, which are spherically symmetric solutions of the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation, as well as solitary waves and vortices which occur, by the same mechanism, in the nonlinear Schrödinger equation and in gauge theories. Mainly we will be interested in the very general principles which are at the base of the existence of solitons such as the Variational Principle, the Invariance Principle, the Noether’s theorem, the Hamilton-Jacobi theory etc. We give a general definition of hylomorphic solitons and an interpretation of their nature (swarm interpretation) which is very helpful in understanding their behavior. We apply these ideas to the Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation and to the Nonlinear Klein-Gordon Equation respectively.  相似文献

Summary. We consider the stability problem of the solitary wave solutions of a completely integrable equation that arises as a model for the unidirectional propagation of shallow water waves. We prove that the solitary waves possess the spectral properties of solitons and that their shapes are stable under small disturbances.  相似文献

In this article, we construct the N-fold Darboux transformation for the defocusing coupled Sasa–Satsuma system which describes the simultaneous propagation of two nonlinear waves in optical fibers with higher order effects. With the non-zero constant background as a seed, we derive the dark and antidark soliton solutions from the once-iterated formula. We find that this coupled system can exhibit the dark–dark, dark–antidark and antidark–dark vector solitons.  相似文献

Exact solutions of nonlinear generalizations of the wave equation are constructed. In some cases these solutions are solitary waves or solitions. Thus, by explicit construction solitons or solitary waves are shown to exist in dispersionless systems. In contrast to previous solitary wave solutions, these solutions are limiting cases of solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations with dispersion.  相似文献

Ablowitz and Musslimani proposed some new nonlocal nonlinear integrable equations including the nonlocal integrable nonlinear Schr?dinger equation. In this paper, we investigate the Darboux transformation of coupled nonlocal nonlinear Schr?dinger(CNNLS) equation with a spectral problem. Starting from a special Lax pairs, the CNNLS equation is constructed. Then, we obtain the one-, two-and N-soliton solution formulas of the CNNLS equation with N-fold Darboux transformation. Based on the obtained solutions, the propagation and interaction structures of these multi-solitons are shown, the evolution structures of the one-dark and one-bright solitons are exhibited with N = 1,and the overtaking elastic interactions among the two-dark and two-bright solitons are considered with N = 2. The obtained results are different from those of the solutions of the local nonlinear equations. Some different propagation phenomena can also be produced through manipulating multi-soliton waves. The results in this paper might be helpful for understanding some physical phenomena described in plasmas.  相似文献

We use the Inverse Scattering Transform machinery to construct multisoliton solutions to the 2-component defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Such solutions include dark–dark solitons, which have dark solitonic behaviour in both components, as well as dark–bright soliton solutions, with one dark and one bright component. We then derive the explicit expressions of two soliton solutions for all possible cases: two dark–dark solitons, two dark–bright solitons, and one dark–dark and one dark–bright soliton. Finally, we determine the long-time asymptotic behaviours of these solutions, which allows us to obtain explicit expressions for the shifts in the phases and in the soliton centers due to the interactions.  相似文献

In this work we introduce new schemes, each combines two hyperbolic functions, to study the KdV, mKdV, and the generalized KdV equations. It is shown that this class of equations gives conventional solitons and periodic solutions. We also show that the proposed schemes develop sets of entirely new solitary wave solutions in addition to the traditional solutions. The analysis can be used to a wide class of nonlinear evolutions equations.  相似文献
