In this paper we study Baer invariants of precrossed modules relative to the subcategory of crossed modules, following Fröhlich and Furtado-Coelho’s general theory on Baer invariants in varieties of Ω-groups and Modi’s theory on higher dimensional Baer invariants. Several homological invariants of precrossed and crossed modules were defined in the last two decades. We show how to use Baer invariants in order to connect these various homology theories. First, we express the low-dimensional Baer invariants of precrossed modules in terms of a new non-abelian tensor product of a precrossed module. This expression is used to analyze the connection between the Baer invariants and the homological invariants of precrossed modules defined by Conduché and Ellis. Specifically we prove that the second homological invariant of Conduché and Ellis is in general a quotient of the first component of the Baer invariant we consider. The definition of classical Baer invariants is generalized using homological methods. These generalized Baer invariants of precrossed modules are applied to the construction of five term exact sequences connecting the generalized Baer invariants with the cohomology theory of crossed modules considered by Carrasco, Cegarra and R.-Grandjeán and the cohomology theory of precrossed modules.  相似文献

We extend the notion of the enveloping semigroup of a locally compact group to the enveloping semigroupoid of a locally compact groupopid and show that there is a universal enveloping semigroupoid which is unique up to isomorphism. As in the group case, we associate the Ellis semigroupoid to an action of a locally compact groupoid on a fibrewise compact space. We define the notion of proximality for groupoid actions and characterize it in terms of Ellis semigroupoid.

This paper is about the pole of some Eisenstein series for classical groups over a number field. In a previous paper, we have shown how to normalize intertwining operators in such a way that they are holomorphic for positive parameters. Here we show that the image of such operators is (in the interesting cases) either 0 or an irreducible representation. This enables us to compute explicitly the residue of the Eisenstein series obtained from square integrable cohomological representations. At the end of the paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of Arthur?s data in order that a square integrable cohomological representation is cuspidal; the conditions are not totally satisfactory and we explain what we expect when Arthur?s results will be fully available.  相似文献

In Cho (Acta Appl. Math. 95:95–134, 2007 and Complex Anal. Oper. Theory 1:367–398, 2007), we introduced Graph von Neumann Algebras which are the (groupoid) crossed product algebras of von Neumann algebras and graph groupoids via graph-representations, which are groupoid actions. In Cho (Acta Appl. Math. 95:95–134, 2007), we showed that such crossed product algebras have the amalgamated reduced free probabilistic properties, where the reduction is totally depending on given directed graphs. Moreover, in Cho (Complex Anal. Oper. Theory 1:367–398, 2007), we characterize each amalgamated free blocks of graph von Neumann algebras: we showed that they are characterized by the well-known von Neumann algebras: Classical group crossed product algebras and (operator-valued) matricial algebras. This shows that we can provide a nicer way to investigate such groupoid crossed product algebras, since we only need to concentrate on studying graph groupoids and characterized algebras. How about the compressed subalgebras of them? i.e., how about the inner (cornered) structures of a graph von Neumann algebra? In this paper, we will provides the answer of this question. Consequently, we show that vertex-compressed subalgebras of a graph von Neumann algebra are characterized by other graph von Neumann algebras. This gives the full characterization of the vertex-compressed subalgebras of a graph von Neumann algebra, by other graph von Neumann algebras.  相似文献

It is shown that every Frobenius algebra over a commutative ring determines a class of solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation, which forms a subbimodule of its tensor square. Moreover, this subbimodule is free of rank one as a left (right) submodule. An explicit form of a generator is given in terms of the Frobenius homomorphism. It turns out that the generator is invertible in the tensor square if and only if the algebra is Azumaya.

Weak crossed products by a weak bialgebra are defined. The resulting structure is not that of a unital algebra but an associative algebra with preunit. A general formula of such a product is given in terms of a weak 2-cocycle and a weak measuring. The relation with weak cleft extensions is studied. Equivalences of weak crossed products are defined and are related to gauge transformations. A relation between cleaving maps is described in terms of gauge transformations.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the non-abelian tensor square of precrossed modules in Lie algebras and investigate some of its properties. In particular, for an arbitrary Lie algebra L, we study the relation of the second homology of a precrossed L-module and the non-abelian exterior square. Also, we show how this non-abelian tensor product is related to the universal central extensions (with respect to the subcategory of crossed modules) of a precrossed module.  相似文献

This paper deals with the inverse problem for the class of orthogonal functions that for the scalar case was introduced by Ellis and Gohberg (J Funct Anal 109:155–198, 1992). The problem is reduced to a linear equation with a special right hand side. This reduction allows one to solve the inverse problem for square matrix functions under conditions that are natural generalizations of those appearing in the scalar case. These conditions lead to a unique solution. Special attention is paid to the polynomial case. A number of partial results are obtained for the non-square case. Various examples are given to illustrate the main results and some open problems are presented.  相似文献

We consider a random walk in a random potential on a square lattice of arbitrary dimension. The potential is a function of an ergodic environment and steps of the walk. The potential is subject to a moment assumption whose strictness is tied to the mixing of the environment, the best case being the i.i.d. environment. We prove that the infinite volume quenched point-to-point free energy exists and has a variational formula in terms of entropy. We establish regularity properties of the point-to-point free energy, and link it to the infinite volume point-to-line free energy and quenched large deviations of the walk. One corollary is a quenched large deviation principle for random walk in an ergodic random environment, with a continuous rate function.  相似文献

It is known matroids obtained from a totally free uniform matroid U 2,n by a sequence of segment–cosegment and cosegment–segment exchanges are totally free (Geelen et al., in J Combin Theory Ser B 92:55–67, 2004). We study the critical Ising model on the square lattice in bounded simply connected domains with + and free boundary conditions. We relate the energy density of the model to a discrete fermionic correlator and compute its scaling limit by discrete complex analysis methods. As a consequence, we obtain a simple exact formula for the scaling limit of the energy field one-point function in terms of the hyperbolic metric. This confirms the predictions originating in physics, but also provides a higher precision.  相似文献

Using the notion of a preunit and the properties of idempotent morphisms, we give a general notion of a crossed product of an algebra A and an object V both living in a monoidal category C. We endow AV with a multiplication and an idempotent morphism, whose image inherits the multiplication. Sufficient conditions for these multiplications to be associative are given. If the product on AV has a preunit, the related idempotent is given in terms of the preunit, and its image has an algebra structure. A characterization of crossed products with preunit is given, and it is used to recover classical examples of crossed products and to study crossed products in weak contexts. Finally crossed products of an algebra by a weak bialgebra are recovered using this theory.  相似文献

Abstract

Let F be a free group, (M,?, F) a non-aspherical projective F-crossed module. We prove that the action of Coker (?) on Ker (?) is faithful. Also we show that if (M,?, F) is a residually nilpotent crossed module, then Coker (?) is a residually nilpotent group. As a corollary, we get an alternative proof of Conduche's translation of Whitehead's asphericity conjecture in terms of residual nilpotence of certain crossed modules.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the algebraic structure of groupoids and crossed modules of groupoids. We describe the group structure of the automorphism group of a finite connected groupoid C as a quotient of a semidirect product. We pay particular attention to the conjugation automorphisms of C, and use these to define a new notion of groupoid action. We then show that the automorphism group of a crossed module of groupoids C\mathcal{C}, in the case when the range groupoid is connected and the source group totally disconnected, may be determined from that of the crossed module of groups Cu\mathcal{C}_u formed by restricting to a single object u. Finally, we show that the group of homotopies of C\mathcal{C} may be determined once the group of regular derivations of Cu\mathcal{C}_u is known.  相似文献
