The notion of congruence provides a means to extend the Sylow theorems from group theory to a class of geometric structures called congruence spaces and to their corresponding loops. The extension of these results depends on the existence of a group acting transitively on the congruence space and preserving congruence. Let P = E G be a Zappa-Szp product of a semilattice E with an identity and a group G. In this paper, we first introduce the concept of congruence pairs for P , and then prove that every congruence on P can be described by such a congruence pair. Let S be topological semigroup, we consider an appropriate semigroup compactification of S. In this paper we study the connection between subgroups of a maximal group in a minimal left ideal of , which arise as equivalence classes of some closed left congruence, and the minimal ow characterized by the left congruence. A particular topology is defined on a maximal group and it is shown that a closed subgroup under this topology is precisely the intersection of an equivalence class with the maximal group for some left congruence on . 相似文献

We study rectangular group congruences on an arbitrary semigroup. Some of our results are an extension of the results obtained by Masat (Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 50:107–114, 1975). We show that each rectangular group congruence on a semigroup S is the intersection of a group congruence and a matrix congruence and vice versa, and this expression is unique, when S is E-inversive. Finally, we prove that every rectangular group congruence on an E-inversive semigroup is uniquely determined by its kernel and trace. 相似文献

A congruence of an algebra is called uniform if all the congruence classes are of the same size. An algebra is called uniform if each of its congruences is uniform. All algebras with a group reduct have this property.
