Counterexample on products of bornological spaces

It is shown that under a set-theoretical assumption, a product of Ulam nonmeasurably many topological linear spaces that are bornological with respect to all topological linear spaces, need not be bornological, thus contradicting a result of N. Adasch and A. P. Robertson.     

A class of bornological barrelled spaces which are not ultrabornological

N. Bourbaki, [1, p. 35], notices that it is not known if every bornological barrelled space is ultrabornological. In this paper we prove that if E is the topological product of an infinite family of bornological barrelled spaces, of non-zero dimension, there exists an infinite number of bornological barrelled subspaces ofE, which are not ultrabornological. We also give some examples of barrelled normable spaces which are not ultrabornological.Supported in part by the Patronato para el Fomento de la Investigación en la Universidad.     

Representations of bornological algebras

Bounded representations of bornological algebras are considered. The left and right bornological radicals in bornological algebras are introduced. It is shown that the left (right) bornological radical of a bornological algebra A is equal to the intersection of all bornologically closed maximal regular left (respectively, right) ideals of A, and both these radicals of A and the Jacobson radical of A coincide if A is an advertive and simplicial bornological algebra (in particular, a bornological Q-algebra). Pontryagin duality for bornological quantum hypergroups

We develop a theory of bornological quantum hypergroups, aiming to extend the theory of algebraic quantum hypergroups in the sense of Delvaux and Van Daele to the framework of bornological vector spaces. It is very similar to the theory of bornological quantum groups established by Voigt, except that the coproduct is no longer assumed to be a homomorphism. We still require the existence of a left and of a right integral. There is also an antipode but it is characterized in terms of these integrals. We study the Fourier transform and develop Pontryagin duality theory for a bornological quantum hypergroup. As an application, we prove a formula relating the fourth power of the antipode with the modular functions of a bornological quantum hypergroup and its dual.

A drop theorem without vector topology

Daneš' drop theorem is extended to bornological vector spaces. An immediate application is to establish Ekeland-type variational principle and its equivalence, Caristi fixed point theorem, in bornological vector spaces. Meanwhile, since every locally convex space becomes a convex bornological vector space when equipped with the canonical von Neumann bornology, Qiu's generalization of Daneš' work to locally convex spaces is recovered.     

有界线性空间中含有Q-距离的Ekeland变分原理

有界线性空间中引入了Q-距离的概念,建立了一类向量值Ekeland变分原理,其目标函数是从有界线性空间映到锥序的实线性空间,并且扰动项中含有Q-距离．由此可以得到有界线性空间中现有的一些Ekeland变分原理．同时建立了有界线性空间中的向量值Caristi不动点定理,也给出二者的等价性．     

On Integrable Functions in Complete Bornological Locally Convex Spaces

A Lebesgue-type integration theory in complete bornological locally convex topological vector spaces was introduced by the first author in [17]. In this paper we continue developing this integration technique and formulate and prove some theorems on integrable functions as well as some convergence theorems. An example of Dobrakov integral in non-metrizable complete bornological locally convex spaces is given.     

On integration in complete bornological locally convex spaces

A generalization of I. Dobrakov's integral to complete bornological locally convex spaces is given.     

Representation of orthogonally additive polynomials

We prove that each bounded orthogonally additive homogeneous polynomial acting from an Archimedean vector lattice into a separated convex bornological space, under the additional assumption that the bornological space is complete or the vector lattice is uniformly complete, can be represented as the composite of a bounded linear operator and a special homogeneous polynomial which plays the role of the exponentiation absent in the vector lattice. The approach suggested is based on the notions of convex bornology and vector lattice power.     

Some properties of bornological convergences

We study some basic properties of the so-called bornological convergences in the realm of quasi-uniform spaces. In particular, we revisit the results about when these convergences are topological by means of the use of pretopologies. This yields a presentation of the bornological convergences as a certain kind of hit-and-miss pretopologies. Furthermore, we characterize the precompactness and total boundedness of the natural quasi-uniformities associated to these convergences. We also obtain an extension of the classical result of Künzi and Ryser about the compactness of the topology generated by the Hausdorff quasi-uniformity to this framework.     

Polynomials on locally k-convex spaces

Polynomially bornological, polynomially barrelled and polynomially infrabarrelled locally convex spaces over a non-Archimedean non-trivially valued complete field of characteristic zero are introduced and studied.     

Cartesian Closedness,Extensionality and Bornological Universes

In this paper we describe the Cartesian closed topological hull, extensional topological hull and topological universe hull of both the category of closed and of open bornological universes.     

Fuzzy topological vector spaces II

Some of the properties of the fuzzy seminormed and fuzzy normed spaces are studied. Also, the notion of a bornological fuzzy linear space is given and some of the properties of such a space are investigated.     

Bornologically isomorphic representations of distributions on manifolds

Distributional tensor fields can be regarded as multilinear mappings on smooth tensor fields with distributional values or as (classical) tensor fields with distributional coefficients. We show that the corresponding isomorphisms hold also in the bornological setting.     

A general approach to infinite-dimensional holomorphy

In this paper we present a general theory for holomorphic functions which is based on continuous convergence instead of topologies. The theory can be applied to locally convex spaces and bornological spaces.
