Abstract

We discuss the existence of a projection with kernel Kb(E,F) 1 (the annihilator of the quasi-compact operators) on the dual space of the space L b,(E, F) of continous linear operators. Our results are proved in the context of Hausdorff locally convex spaces, but also provide extensions of recent results in the context of Banach spaces.  相似文献

Abstract

The r-asymptotically quasi finite rank operators were introduced in [10]. For regular operators on Banach lattices, these operators are the order theoretic analogue of Riesz operators on Banach spaces. Abstract

This is a report on a number of recent results on composition operators which map, for 0 < p ? q ∞, the Hardy space Hp (on the unit disk in the complex plane) into H q. Attention is focused on questions of boundedness (existence), compactness, order boundedness and, in connection with the latter, on relating the absolutely summing and nuclearity character as well as special factorization properties of the operator to function theoretic properties of the defining symbol. Moreover, tools are provided to show that certain classes of operators can well be distinguished already on the level of composition operators.  相似文献

We construct the Riesz tensor product of Archimedean Riesz spaces and derive its properties using functional calculus and f-algebras. We improve results on the approximation of elements in the Riesz tensor product by means of elements in the vector space tensor product in such a way that the order density property is a consequence of the improved approximation result.  相似文献

The gap between hyponormal and subnormal Hilbert space operators can be studied using the intermediate classes of weakly n-hyponormal and (strongly) n-hyponormal operators. The main examples for these various classes, particularly to distinguish them, have been the weighted shifts. In this paper we first obtain a characterization for a weakly n-hyponormal weighted shift Wα with weight sequence α, from which we extend some known results for quadratically hyponormal (i.e., weakly 2-hyponormal) weighted shifts to weakly n-hyponormal weighted shifts. In addition, we discuss some new examples for weakly n-hyponormal weighted shifts; one illustrates the differences among the classes of 2-hyponormal, quadratically hyponormal, and positively quadratically hyponormal operators.  相似文献

For a Riesz operator T on a reflexive Banach space X with nonzero eigenvalues denote by Ei; T) the eigen-projection corresponding to an eigenvalue λi. In this paper we will show that if the operator sequence is uniformly bounded, then the Riesz operator T can be decomposed into the sum of two operators Tp and Tr: T = Tp + Tr, where Tp is the weak limit of Tn and Tr is quasi-nilpotent. The result is used to obtain an expansion of a Riesz semigroup T(t) for t ≥ τ. As an application, we consider the solution of transport equation on a bounded convex body.  相似文献

We find a necessary and sufficient condition on a Riesz space E such that a sub-Boolean algebra of components of a positive element generates the Boolean algebra of all components of the element. Following the work of C. Cowen and T. Kriete on the Hardy space, we prove that under a regularity condition, all composition operators with a subnormal adjoint on A2(D) have linear fractional symbols of the form. Moreover, we show that all composition operators on the Bergman space having these symbols have a subnormal adjoint, with larger range for the parameterr than found in the Hardy space case.  相似文献

In 1997, V. Pták defined the notion of generalized Hankel operator as follows: Given two contractions and , an operatorX: is said to be a generalized Hankel operator ifT 2 X=XT 1 * andX satisfies a boundedness condition that depends on the unitary parts of the minimal isometric dilations ofT 1 andT 2. The purpose behind this kind of generalization is to study which properties of classical Hankel operators depend on their characteristic intertwining relation rather than on the theory of analytic functions. Following this spirit, we give appropriate versions of a number of results about compact and finite rank Hankel operators that hold within Pták's generalized framework. Namely, we extend Adamyan, Arov and Krein's estimates of the essential norm of a Hankel operator, Hartman's characterization of compact Hankel operators and Kronecker's characterization of finite rank Hankel operators.Dedicated to the memory of our master and friend Vlastimil Pták  相似文献

We consider some functional Banach algebras with multiplications as the usual convolution product * and the so‐called Duhamel product ?. We study the structure of generators of the Banach algebras (C(n)[0, 1], *) and (C(n)[0, 1], ?). We also use the Banach algebra techniques in the calculation of spectral multiplicities and extended eigenvectors of some operators. Moreover, we give in terms of extended eigenvectors a new characterization of a special class of composition operators acting in the Lebesgue space Lp[0, 1] by the formula (Cφf)(x) = f(φ(x)).  相似文献

Riesz potentials on the space of rectangular n×m matrices arise in diverse “higher rank” problems of harmonic analysis, representation theory, and integral geometry. In the rank-one case m=1 they coincide with the classical operators of Marcel Riesz. We develop new tools and obtain a number of new results for Riesz potentials of functions of matrix argument. The main topics are the Fourier transform technique, representation of Riesz potentials by convolutions with a positive measure supported by submanifolds of matrices of rank<m, the behavior on smooth and Lp functions. The results are applied to investigation of Radon transforms on the space of real rectangular matrices.  相似文献

Let L be the infinitesimal generator of an analytic semigroup on L2 (?) with suitable upper bounds on its heat kernels, and L has a bounded holomorphic functional calculus on L2 (?). In this article, we introduce new function spaces H L 1 (? × ?) and BMOL(? × ?) (dual to the space H L* 1 (? × ?) in which L* is the adjoint operator of L) associated with L, and they generalize the classical Hardy and BMO spaces on product domains. We obtain a molecular decomposition of function for H L 1 (? × ?) by using the theory of tent spaces and establish a characterization of BMOL (? × ?) in terms of Carleson conditions. We also show that the John-Nirenberg inequality holds for the space BMOL (? × ?). Applications include large classes of differential operators such as the magnetic Schrödinger operators and second-order elliptic operators of divergence form or nondivergence form in one dimension.  相似文献
