We deal with the global stability for a well-known population-toxicant model. We make use of a geometrical approach to the global stability analysis for ordinary differential equation which is based on the use of a higher-order generalization of the Bendixson's criterion. We obtain sufficient conditions for the global stability of the unique nontrivial equilibrium. These conditions are expressed in terms of a generic functional describing the population dynamics. In the special case of a logistic-like population dynamics, we get conditions which improve the ones previously known, obtained by means of the Lyapunov direct method.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with three 3-species time-delayed Lotka-Volterra reaction-diffusion systems and their corresponding ordinary differential systems without diffusion. The time delays may be discrete or continuous, and the boundary conditions for the reaction-diffusion systems are of Neumann type. The goal of the paper is to obtain some simple and easily verifiable conditions for the existence and global asymptotic stability of a positive steady-state solution for each of the three model problems. These conditions involve only the reaction rate constants and are independent of the diffusion effect and time delays. The result of global asymptotic stability implies that each of the three model systems coexists, is permanent, and the trivial and all semitrivial solutions are unstable. Our approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions for a more general reaction-diffusion system which gives a common framework for the 3-species model problems. Some global stability results for the 2-species competition and prey-predator reaction-diffusion systems are included in the discussion.  相似文献

In this paper, the global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point of integro-differential systems modeling neural networks with time-varying delays are studied. Proper Lyapunov functionals and some analytic techniques are employed to derive the sufficient conditions under which the networks proposed are the global asymptotic stability. The results have shown to improve the previous global asymptotic stability results derived in the literature. Some examples are given to illustrate the correctness of our results.  相似文献

This paper addresses the local and global stability of n-dimensional Lotka-Volterra systems with distributed delays and instantaneous negative feedbacks. Necessary and sufficient conditions for local stability independent of the choice of the delay functions are given, by imposing a weak nondelayed diagonal dominance which cancels the delayed competition effect. The global asymptotic stability of positive equilibria is established under conditions slightly stronger than the ones required for the linear stability. For the case of monotone interactions, however, sharper conditions are presented. This paper generalizes known results for discrete delays to systems with distributed delays. Several applications illustrate the results.  相似文献

This paper investigates the stability of a class of high-order neural networks with time-varying delay, which can be considered as an expansion of Hopfield neural networks and is seldom considered in the literature. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, sufficient conditions guaranteeing the global exponential stability of the equilibrium point are presented. Two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed conditions. The obtained results are also shown to be different from and more general than existing ones.  相似文献

In this paper, the global asymptotic and exponential stability are investigated for a class of neural networks with both the discrete and distributed time-varying delays. By using appropriate Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, several delay-dependent sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee the global asymptotic and exponential stability of the addressed neural networks. These conditions are expressed in terms of LMIs, and are dependent on both the discrete and distributed time delays. Therefore, the stability of the neural networks can be checked readily by resorting to the Matlab LMI toolbox. In addition, the proposed stability criteria do not require the monotonicity of the activation functions and the differentiability of the discrete and distributed time-varying delays, which means that our results generalize and further improve those in the earlier publications. A simulation example is given to show the effectiveness and less conservatism of the obtained conditions.  相似文献

In the paper, the global exponential stability and periodicity are investigated for delayed cellular neural networks with impulsive effects. Some sufficient conditions are derived for checking the global exponential stability and the existence of periodic solution for this system based on Halanay inequality, mathematical induction and fixed point theorem. The criteria given are easily verifiable, possess many adjustable parameters, and depend on impulses, which provides flexibility for the design and analysis of delayed cellular neural networks with impulses.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the incremental stability of stochastic hybrid systems, based on the contraction theory, and derive sufficient conditions of global stability for such systems. As a special case, the conditions to ensure the second moment exponential stability which is also called exponential stability in the mean square of stochastic hybrid systems are obtained. The theoretical results in this paper extend previous works from deterministic or stochastic systems to general stochastic hybrid systems, which can be applied to qualitative and quantitative analysis of many physical and biological phenomena. An illustrative example is given to show the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

Global asymptotical stability of the positive equilibrium (PE) of a dynamical system is one of the research focus in theoretical studies of both continuous and discrete bio-mathematical models. In this paper, we shall establish the global asymptotical stability of the PE of a discrete Logistic competitive model in certain planar region. Indeed, sufficient conditions, dependent only on the parameters of the model, are obtained to ensure the global asymptotical stability of the PE in this region. The parameter region that corresponds to these sufficient conditions can be illustrated graphically and several examples of such regions are presented. Our approach to establish the global asymptotical stability of the PE involves proving the global attractivity of the PE in the planar region concerned and a key process here is the derivation of the maxima of the related functions in the planar region.  相似文献

The issue of stability and stabilization for a class of nonlinear impulsive hybrid systems based on finite state machine (FSM) with mode-dependent average dwell time (MDADT) is investigated in this paper. The concepts of global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability are extended for the systems, and the multiple Lyapunov functions (MLFs) are constructed to prove the sufficient conditions of global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability, respectively. Furthermore, the method of stabilization is also given for the hybrid systems. The application of MLFs and MDADT leads to a reduction of conservativeness in contrast with classical Lyapunov function. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with asymptotic stability of a system of reaction-diffusion equations which is expressed in terms of Volterra integrals, under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The effect of diffusion and delays on the stability of the system are analyzed, and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of positive solutions of the corresponding steady-state problem. Their global attraction with respect to nonnegative solutions of the time-dependent system is discussed. The main tools are Lyapunov functionals, positive definite kernels, and Laplace transforms.  相似文献

In this paper, sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of a broad family of periodic impulsive scalar delay differential equations are obtained. These conditions are applied to a periodic hematopoiesis model with multiple time-dependent delays and linear impulses, in order to establish criteria for the global asymptotic stability of a positive periodic solution. The present results are discussed within the context of recent literature. In conclusion, when compared with previous works, not only sharper stability criteria are obtained here, even for models without impulses, but also the usual constraints imposed on the linear impulses are relaxed.  相似文献

In this paper, a general class of impulsive delayed switched systems is considered. By employing the Lyapunov–Razumikhin method and some analysis techniques, we established several global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability criteria for the considered impulsive delayed switched systems, which improve and extend some recent works. As an application, the result of global exponential stability are used to study a class of uncertain linear switched systems with time‐varying delays. Several LMI‐based conditions are proposed to guarantee the global robust stability and global exponential stabilization. The designed memoryless state feedback controller can be easily checked by the LMI toolbox in Matlab. Moreover, the dwell time constraint is imposed for the switching law. Finally, two numerical examples and their simulations are given to show the effectiveness of our proposed results. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Global asymptotic stability and exponential stability of delayed cellular neural networks is considered in this paper. Based on the Lyapunov stability theorem as well as a fact about the elemental inequality, some new sufficient conditions are given for global asymptotic stability and exponential stability of delayed cellular neural networks. The results are less conservative than those established in the earlier references. Three examples are given to illustrate the applicability of these conditions.  相似文献

Two models of a density dependent predator-prey system with Beddington-DeAngelis functional response are systematically considered. One includes the time delay in the functional response and the other does not. The explorations involve the permanence, local asymptotic stability and global asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium for the models by using stability theory of differential equations and Lyapunov functions. For the permanence, the density dependence for predators is shown to give some negative effect for the two models. Further the permanence implies the local asymptotic stability for a positive equilibrium point of the model without delay. Also the global asymptotic stability condition, which can be easily checked for the model is obtained. For the model with time delay, local and global asymptotic stability conditions are obtained.  相似文献

This paper studies scale-type stability for neural networks with unbounded time-varying delays and Lipschitz continuous activation functions. Several sufficient conditions for the global exponential stability and global asymptotic stability of such neural networks on time scales are derived. The new results can extend the existing relevant stability results in the previous literatures to cover some general neural networks.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a discrete semi-ratio dependent predator-prey system with Holling IV type functional response. For general nonautonomous case, sufficient conditions which ensure the permanence and the global stability of the system are obtained. Meanwhile, we discuss the existence of the positive periodic solution and global stability of the system.  相似文献
