In this paper, we obtain new results for the weak‐AFPP in abstract spaces by exploiting biorthogonal systems techniques. Firstly, we investigate the strong‐AFPP on countably infinite dimensional Hausdorff locally convex spaces. Spaces of this class are shown to be sequentially complete iff they have the hereditary FPP for totally bounded, closed convex sets. This might open a research line for the analysis of weak‐AFPP in such frames. In connection, we provide a simple criterion for the containement of ?1‐sequences in terms of strongly‐equicontinuous biorthogonal systems. We then establish a few results concerning the existence of Hausdorff finer vector topologies on abstract spaces having as prescribed condition the existence of such systems. The proofs are based on methods of Peck and Porta concerning building of finer vector topologies, and a classical construction of Singer which allows us to prove under rather natural conditions the existence of equicontinuous biorthogonal systems in metrizable locally convex spaces. These results are compatible with the failure of the weak‐AFPP. We also study the inverse problem by proving that every infinite dimensional vector space admits a (non‐locally convex) Hausdorff vector topology which is complete, non‐metrizable and is compatible with a bounded Hamel Schauder basis. It is shown further that such a topology has the ‐AFPP, where is the linear span of coefficient functionals associated to a Hamel basis. Finally, inspired by a result of Shapiro, we observe that if X is a non‐locally convex F‐space with an absolute basis, then the weak‐AFPP is equivalent to the fact that every bounded convex subset of X is compact.  相似文献

Modifying the method of Ansari,we give some criteria for hypercyclicity of quasi-Mazur spaces.They can be applied to judging hypercyclicity of non-complete and non-metrizable locally convex spaces.For some special locally convex spaces,for example,Ko¨the(LF)-sequence spaces and countable inductive limits of quasi-Mazur spaces,we investigate their hypercyclicity.As we see,bounded biorthogonal systems play an important role in the construction of Ansari.Moreover,we obtain characteristic conditions respectively for locally convex spaces having bounded sequences with dense linear spans and for locally convex spaces having bounded absorbing sets,which are useful in judging the existence of bounded biorthogonal systems.  相似文献

In this note we treat some open problems of Heinrich on ultrapowers of locally convex spaces. In section 1 we investigate the localization of bounded sets in the full ultrapower of a locally convex space, in particular the coincidence of the full and the bounded ultrapower, mainly concentrating in the case of (DF)-spaces. In section 2 we provide a partial answer to a question of Heinrich on commutativity of strict inductive limits and ultrapowers. In section 3 we analyze the relation between some natural candidates for the notion of superreflexivity in the setting of Fréchet spaces. We give an example of a Fréchet-Schwartz space which is not the projective limit of a sequence of superreflexive Banach spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce two types of new Banach spaces: k-super-strongly convex spaces and k-super-strongly smooth spaces. It is proved that these two notions are dual. We also prove that the class of k-super-strongly convexifiable spaces is strictly between locally k-uniformly rotund spaces and k-strongly convex spaces, and obtain some necessary and sufficient conditions of k-super-strongly convex space (respectively k-super-strongly smooth space). Also, for each k?2, it is shown that there exists a k-super-strongly convex (respectively k-super-strongly smooth) space which is not (k−1)-super-strongly convex (respectively (k−1)-super-strongly smooth) space.  相似文献

We give some necessary and sufficient conditions which completely characterize the strong and total Lagrange duality, respectively, for convex optimization problems in separated locally convex spaces. We also prove similar statements for the problems obtained by perturbing the objective functions of the primal problems by arbitrary linear functionals. In the particular case when we deal with convex optimization problems having infinitely many convex inequalities as constraints the conditions we work with turn into the so-called Farkas-Minkowski and locally Farkas-Minkowski conditions for systems of convex inequalities, recently used in the literature. Moreover, we show that our new results extend some existing ones in the literature.  相似文献

The author gives a dual characterization of solid cones in locally convex spaces. From this the author obtains some criteria for judging convex cones to be solid in various kinds of locally convex spaces. Using a general expression of the interior of a solid cone, the author obtains a number of necessary and sufficient conditions for convex cones to be solid in the framework of Banach spaces. In particular, the author gives a dual relationship between solid cones and generalized sharp cones. The related known results are improved and extended.  相似文献

We transfer a number of fundamental results about hypercyclic operators on locally convex spaces (due to Ansari, Bès, Bourdon, Costakis, Feldman, and Peris) to the non-locally convex situation. In the framework of topological vector spaces, we give a characterization of strong Minkowski separation, introduced by Cheng, et al., in terms of convex body separation. From this, several results on strong Minkowski separation are deduced. Using the results, we prove a drop theorem involving weakly countably compact sets in locally convex spaces. Moreover, we introduce the notion of the co-drop property and show that every weakly countably compact set has the co-drop property. If the underlying locally convex space is quasi-complete, then a bounded weakly closed set has the co-drop property if and only if it is weakly countably compact.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a general version of Ekeland's variational principle in locally convex spaces, where perturbations contain subadditive functions of topology generating seminorms and nonincreasing functions of the objective function. From this, we obtain a number of special versions of Ekeland's principle, which include all the known extensions of the principle in locally convex spaces. Moreover, we give a general criterion for judging the density of extremal points in the general Ekeland's principle, which extends and improves the related known results.  相似文献

We introduce the classes of locally convex spaces with the local Dunford-Pettis property and locally dual Schur spaces. We examine their properties and their relationship to other classes of locally convex spaces. Applying the theory of locally convex spaces to vector optimization, we investigate the relationship between Henig proper efficient points and generalized Henig proper efficient points. In particular, we obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for generalized Henig proper efficient points to be Henig proper efficient points. We investigate the diagonal sequence property in Banach spaces with weaker topologies. In particular, we present examples of Banach spaces with weaker locally convex topologies which have the diagonal sequence property but are not Fréchet–Urysohn. The examples answer negatively a question of Averbukh and Smolyanov. We give also a very simple proof of the fact that each Banach space contains a subset A whose weak closure includes 0, but 0 is not contained in the weak closure of any bounded subset of A.  相似文献
