In this study, a Hermite matrix method is presented to solve high‐order linear Fredholm integro‐differential equations with variable coefficients under the mixed conditions in terms of the Hermite polynomials. The proposed method converts the equation and its conditions to matrix equations, which correspond to a system of linear algebraic equations with unknown Hermite coefficients, by means of collocation points on a finite interval. Then, by solving the matrix equation, the Hermite coefficients and the polynomial approach are obtained. Also, examples that illustrate the pertinent features of the method are presented; the accuracy of the solutions and the error analysis are performed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this study, a Legendre collocation matrix method is presented to solve high-order Linear Fredholm integro-differential equations under the mixed conditions in terms of Legendre polynomials. The proposed method converts the equation and conditions to matrix equations, by means of collocation points on the interval [−1, 1], which corresponding to systems of linear algebraic equations with Legendre coefficients. Thus, by solving the matrix equation, Legendre coefficients and polynomial approach are obtained. Also examples that illustrate the pertinent features of the method are presented and by using the error analysis, the results are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, a new approximate method has been presented to solve the linear Volterra integral equation systems (VIEs). This method transforms the integral system into the matrix equation with the help of Taylor series. By merging these results, a new system which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations is obtained. The solution of this system yields the Taylor coefficients of the solution function. Also, this method gives the analytic solution when the exact solutions are polynomials. So as to show this capability and robustness, some systems of VIEs are solved by the presented method in order to obtain their approximate solutions.  相似文献

This paper presents an exponential matrix method for the solutions of systems of high‐order linear differential equations with variable coefficients. The problem is considered with the mixed conditions. On the basis of the method, the matrix forms of exponential functions and their derivatives are constructed, and then by substituting the collocation points into the matrix forms, the fundamental matrix equation is formed. This matrix equation corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations. By solving this system, the unknown coefficients are determined and thus the approximate solutions are obtained. Also, an error estimation based on the residual functions is presented for the method. The approximate solutions are improved by using this error estimation. To demonstrate the efficiency of the method, some numerical examples are given and the comparisons are made with the results of other methods. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, a collocation method is presented to find the approximate solution of high‐order linear complex differential equations in rectangular domain. By using collocation points defined in a rectangular domain and the Bessel polynomials, this method transforms the linear complex differential equations into a matrix equation. The matrix equation corresponds to a system of linear equations with the unknown Bessel coefficients. The proposed method gives the analytic solution when the exact solutions are polynomials. Numerical examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique and the comparisons are made with existing results. The results show the efficiency and accuracy of the present work. All of the numerical computations have been performed on a computer using a program written in MATLAB v7.6.0 (R2008a). This paper presents a numerical method for the approximate solution of mth-order linear delay difference equations with variable coefficients under the mixed conditions in terms of Laguerre polynomials. The aim of this article is to present an efficient numerical procedure for solving mth-order linear delay difference equations with variable coefficients. Our method depends mainly on a Laguerre series expansion approach. This method transforms linear delay difference equations and the given conditions into matrix equation which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equation. The reliability and efficiency of the proposed scheme are demonstrated by some numerical experiments and performed on the computer algebraic system Maple.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a collocation method to obtain the approximate solutions of continuous population models for single and interacting species. By using the Bessel polynomials and collocation points, this method transforms population model into a matrix equation. The matrix equation corresponds to a system of nonlinear equations with the unknown Bessel coefficients. The reliability and efficiency of the proposed scheme are demonstrated by two numerical examples and performed on the computer algebraic system Maple.  相似文献

In this article, a new method is presented for the solution of high‐order linear partial differential equations (PDEs) with variable coefficients under the most general conditions. The method is based on the approximation by the truncated double Chebyshev series. PDE and conditions are transformed into the matrix equations, which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations with the unknown Chebyshev coefficients, via Chebyshev collocation points. Combining these matrix equations and then solving the system yields the Chebyshev coefficients of the solution function. Some numerical results are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the method. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2009  相似文献

We consider the version of the pseudospectral method for solving boundary value problems which replaces the differential operator with a matrix constructed from the elementary differentiation matrices whose elements are the derivatives of the Lagrange fundamental polynomials at the collocation points. The iterative solution of the resulting system of equations then requires the recurrent application of that differentiation matrix. Since global polynomial interpolation on the interval only gives useful approximants for points which accumulate in the vicinity of the extremities, the matrix is ill-conditioned. To reduce this drawback, we use Kosloff and Tal-Ezer's suggestion to shift the collocation points closer to equidistant by a conformal map. However, instead of applying their change of variable setting, we extend to stationary equations the linear rational collocation method introduced in former work on partial differential equations. Numerically about as efficient, this does not require any new coding if one starts from an efficient program for the polynomial differentiation matrices. This revised version was published online in October 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

In this article, a new numerical approach has been proposed for solving a class of delay time-fractional partial differential equations. The approximate solutions of these equations are considered as linear combinations of Müntz–Legendre polynomials with unknown coefficients. Operational matrix of fractional differentiation is provided to accelerate computations of the proposed method. Using Padé approximation and two-sided Laplace transformations, the mentioned delay fractional partial differential equations will be transformed to a sequence of fractional partial differential equations without delay. The localization process is based on the space-time collocation in some appropriate points to reduce the fractional partial differential equations into the associated system of algebraic equations which can be solved by some robust iterative solvers. Some numerical examples are also given to confirm the accuracy of the presented numerical scheme. Our results approved decisive preference of the Müntz–Legendre polynomials with respect to the Legendre polynomials.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a generalization of a functional differential equation known as the pantograph equation which contains a linear functional argument. In this article, a new spectral collocation method is applied to solve the generalized pantograph equation with variable coefficients on a semi-infinite domain. This method is based on Jacobi rational functions and Gauss quadrature integration. The Jacobi rational-Gauss method reduces solving the generalized pantograph equation to a system of algebraic equations. Reasonable numerical results are obtained by selecting few Jacobi rational–Gauss collocation points. The proposed Jacobi rational–Gauss method is favorably compared with other methods. Numerical results demonstrate its accuracy, efficiency, and versatility on the half-line.  相似文献

This paper proposes operational matrix of rth integration of Chebyshev wavelets. A general procedure of this matrix is given. Operational matrix of rth integration is taken as rth power of operational matrix of first integration in literature. But, this study removes this disadvantage of Chebyshev wavelets method. Free vibration problems of non-uniform Euler–Bernoulli beam under various supporting conditions are investigated by using Chebyshev Wavelet Collocation Method. The proposed method is based on the approximation by the truncated Chebyshev wavelet series. A homogeneous system of linear algebraic equations has been obtained by using the Chebyshev collocation points. The determinant of coefficients matrix is equated to the zero for nontrivial solution of homogeneous system of linear algebraic equations. Hence, we can obtain ith natural frequencies of the beam and the coefficients of the approximate solution of Chebyshev wavelet series that satisfied differential equation and boundary conditions. Mode shapes functions corresponding to the natural frequencies can be obtained by normalizing of approximate solutions. The computed results well fit with the analytical and numerical results as in the literature. These calculations demonstrate that the accuracy of the Chebyshev wavelet collocation method is quite good even for small number of grid points.  相似文献

By the use of the Chebyshev series, a direct computational method for solving the higher order nonlinear differential equations has been developed in this paper. This method transforms the nonlinear differential equation into the matrix equation, which corresponds to a system of nonlinear algebraic equations with unknown Chebyshev coefficients, via Chebyshev collocation points. The solution of this system yields the Chebyshev coefficients of the solution function. An algorithm for this nonlinear system is also proposed in this paper. The method is valid for both initial-value and boundary-value problems. Several examples are presented to illustrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

In this study, an approximate method based on Bernoulli polynomials and collocation points has been presented to obtain the solution of higher order linear Fredholm integro-differential-difference equations with the mixed conditions. The method we have used consists of reducing the problem to a matrix equation which corresponds to a system of linear algebraic equations. The obtained matrix equation is based on the matrix forms of Bernoulli polynomials and their derivatives by means of collocations. The solutions are obtained as the truncated Bernoulli series which are defined in the interval [a,b]. To illustrate the method, it is applied to the initial and boundary values. Also error analysis and numerical examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique.  相似文献

This paper presents a direct solution technique for solving the generalized pantograph equation with variable coefficients subject to initial conditions, using a collocation method based on Bernoulli operational matrix of derivatives. Only small dimension of Bernoulli operational matrix is needed to obtain a satisfactory result. Numerical results with comparisons are given to confirm the reliability of the proposed method for generalized pantograph equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the numerical solution to time‐fractional partial differential equations with variable coefficients that involve temporal Caputo derivative. A spectral method based on Gegenbauer polynomials is taken for approximating the solution of the given time‐fractional partial differential equation in time and a collocation method in space. The suggested method reduces this type of equation to the solution of a linear algebraic system. Finally, some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article, we apply compact finite difference approximations of orders two and four for discretizing spatial derivatives of wave equation and collocation method for the time component. The resulting method is unconditionally stable and solves the wave equation with high accuracy. The solution is approximated by a polynomial at each grid point that its coefficients are determined by solving a linear system of equations. We employ the multigrid method for solving the resulted linear system. Multigrid method is an iterative method which has grid independently convergence and solves the linear system of equations in small amount of computer time. Numerical results show that the compact finite difference approximation of fourth order, collocation and multigrid methods produce a very efficient method for solving the wave equation. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We elaborate upon a new method of solving linear differential equations, of arbitrary order, which is applicable to a wide class of single and multi-variate equations. Our procedure separates the operator part of the equation under study in to a part containing a function of the Euler operator and constants, and another one retaining the rest. The solution of the equation is then obtained from the monomials (or the monomial symmetric functions, for the multi-variate case), which are the eigenfunctions of the Euler operator. Novel exponential forms of the solutions of the differential equations enable one to analyze the underlying symmetries of the equations and explore the algebraic structures of the solution spaces in a straightforward manner. The procedure allows one to derive various properties of the orthogonal polynomials and functions in a unified manner. After showing how the generating functions and Rodriguez formulae emerge naturally in this method, we briefly outline the generalization of the present approach to the multi-variate case.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce a high‐order accurate method for solving the two dimensional linear hyperbolic equation. We apply a compact finite difference approximation of fourth order for discretizing spatial derivatives of linear hyperbolic equation and collocation method for the time component. The resulted method is unconditionally stable and solves the two‐dimensional linear hyperbolic equation with high accuracy. In this technique, the solution is approximated by a polynomial at each grid point that its coefficients are determined by solving a linear system of equations. In this article, a collocation method is developed to find an approximate solution of higher order linear complex differential equations with variable coefficients in rectangular domains. This method is essentially based on the matrix representations of the truncated Taylor series of the expressions in equation and their derivates, which consist of collocation points defined in the given domain. Some numerical examples with initial and boundary conditions are given to show the properties of the method.
