This paper deals with the Fujita phenomenon for the Cauchy problem of an inhomogeneous fast diffusion system. Both the critical exponent and the second exponent are obtained. We observe that the inhomogeneous terms in the system substantially contribute to the critical exponent, in that the blow-up exponent region is obviously enlarged, with keeping the second critical exponent unchanged for small inhomogeneous sources.  相似文献

Nonlinear Biharmonic Equations with Critical Potential   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
In this paper, we study two semilinear singular biharmonic equations: one with subcritical exponent and critical potential, another with sub-critical potential and critical exponent. By Pohozaev identity for singular solution, we prove there is no nontrivial solution for equations with critical exponent and critical potential. And by using the concentrate compactness principle and Mountain Pass theorem, respectively, we get two existence results for the two problems. Meanwhile, we have compared the changes of the critical dimensions in singular and non-singular cases, and we get an interesting result.  相似文献

Bandle et al. [1] obtained a quite interesting result about a semilinear heat equation that the Fujita exponent relative to the whole hyperbolic space is just the same as that relative to bounded domain in Euclidean space, and, in addition, the properties of solutions are different in the critical exponent case. Our purpose is to answer an open problem proposed by Bandle et al. for the critical exponent case, and it, together with the one obtained by them, shows that the critical exponent case does belong to the non-blow-up case, which is completely different from the case in Euclidean space.  相似文献

This paper deals with the exterior problem of the Newtonian filtration equation with nonlinear boundary sources. The large time behavior of solutions including the critical Fujita exponent are determined or estimated. An interesting phenomenon is illustrated that there exists a threshold value for the coefficient of the lower order term, which depends on the spacial dimension. Exactly speaking, the critical global exponent is strictly less than the critical Fujita exponent when the coefficient is under this threshold, while these two exponents are identically equal when the coefficient is over this threshold. This paper studies a higher-order semilinear parabolic system. We obtain the second critical exponent to characterize the critical space-decay rate of the initial data in the co-existence parameter region of global and non-global solutions. Together with the critical Fujita exponent established by Pang et al.(2006),this gives a clear and complete picture to the Fujita phenomena in the coupled higher-order semilinear parabolic system.  相似文献

For a class of quasilinear Schrödinger equations with critical exponent we establish the existence of both one-sign and nodal ground states of soliton type solutions by the Nehari method. The method is to analyze the behavior of solutions for subcritical problems from our earlier work (Liu et al. Commun Partial Differ Equ 29:879–901, 2004) and to pass limit as the exponent approaches to the critical exponent.  相似文献

This paper concerns with the Cauchy problems of semilinear pseudo-parabolic equations. After establishing the necessary existence, uniqueness and comparison principle for mild solutions, which are also classical ones provided that the initial data are appropriately smooth, we investigate large time behavior of solutions. It is shown that there still exist the critical global existence exponent and the critical Fujita exponent for pseudo-parabolic equations and that these two critical exponents are consistent with the corresponding semilinear heat equations.  相似文献

We prove that there exists an exponent beyond which all continuous conventional powers of n-by-n doubly nonnegative matrices are doubly nonnegative. We show that this critical exponent cannot be less than n-2 and we conjecture that it is always n-2 (as it is with Hadamard powering). We prove this conjecture when n<6 and in certain other special cases. We establish a quadratic bound for the critical exponent in general.  相似文献

For semilinear Gellerstedt equations with Tricomi, Goursat or Dirichlet boundary conditions we prove Pohozaev type identities and derive non existence results that exploit an invariance of the linear part with respect to certain nonhomogeneous dilations. This paper considers a fast diffusion equation with potential ut= um V (x)um+upin Rn×(0,T), where 1 2αm+n< m ≤ 1, p > 1, n ≥ 2, V (x) ~ω|x|2with ω≥ 0 as |x| →∞,and α is the positive root of αm(αm + n 2) ω = 0. The critical Fujita exponent was determined as pc= m +2αm+nin a previous paper of the authors. In the present paper,we establish the second critical exponent to identify the global and non-global solutions in their co-existence parameter region p > pcvia the critical decay rates of the initial data.With u0(x) ~ |x| aas |x| →∞, it is shown that the second critical exponent a =2p m,independent of the potential parameter ω, is quite different from the situation for the critical exponent pc.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the properties of solutions to a degenerate parabolic equation with variable density and absorption. We first obtain a critical exponent, which distinguishes the localization of solutions from the positivity of them. When positivity prevails, we obtain the other critical exponent with respect to the decay of the variable density, which separates the global existence of interfaces from the disappearance of them. In this paper,we study the large time behavior of solutions to a class of fast diffusion equations with nonlinear boundary sources on the exterior domain of the unit ball.We are interested in the critical global exponent q_o and the critical Fujita exponent q_c for the problem considered,and show that q_o=q_c for the multidimensional Non-Newtonian polytropic filtration equation with nonlinear boundary sources,which is quite different from the known results that q_o〈q_c for the onedimensional case;moreover,the value is different from the slow case.  相似文献

We propose a definition for the length of closed geodesics in a globally hyperbolic maximal compact (GHMC) Anti-De Sitter manifold. We then prove that the number of closed geodesics of length less than R grows exponentially fast with R and the exponential growth rate is related to the critical exponent associated to the two hyperbolic surfaces coming from Mess parametrization. We get an equivalent of three results for quasi-Fuchsian manifolds in the GHMC setting: Bowen’s rigidity theorem of critical exponent, Sanders’ isolation theorem and McMullen’s examples lightening the behaviour of this exponent when the surfaces range over Teichmüller space.  相似文献

We study a kind of nonlinear wave equations with damping and potential, whose coefficients are both critical in the sense of the scaling and depend only on the spatial variables. Based on the earlier works, one may think there are two kinds of blow-up phenomenons when the exponent of the nonlinear term is small. It also means there are two kinds of law to determine the critical exponent. In this paper, we obtain a blow-up result and get the estimate of the upper bound of the lifespan in critical and sub-critical cases. All of the results support such a conjecture, although for now, the existence part is still open.  相似文献

We presented exact analytical formulae and numerical calculation of diffusitivity curves with different law for a local pore behavior and have obtained critical exponent, different from conductivity. The connectivity percolation theory was built only on the conductivity, (the diffusion critical exponent was supposed to be equal to the conductivity exponent) and therefore sees only one side of problem-the scalar side. In many topological problems involving mechanical properties and fluid flow the connectivity scalar percolation geometry does not enough to apply.

One of the most useful aspects of percolation is that many very complicated systems have the same behavior with the same critical exponents. Universality of vector percolation is shown in the coincidence between the experimental measured relative hydraulic permeability of fluid and gas flow through unconsolidated sand and effective conductivity and diffusitivity curves of the bond–site percolation models. Comparisons of our calculation results to natural matches are quite good. We have argued that experimental data may be interpreted as a variant of pure vector percolation and to belong to the same universality class.  相似文献
