Some results concerning existence of positive solutions for the singular boundary value problems u^(4)(t)=f(t,u(t)) t∈（0,1) u(0)=u(1)=0 u‘(0)=u‘(1)=0 have been given, where f(t, x) may be singular at t = 0, 1.     

Symmetric Positive Solutions for a Singular Second-Order Three-Point Boundary Value Problem

In this paper, we consider the following second order three-point boundary value problem u″（t）＋a（t）f（u（t））=0,0〈t〈1,u（0）-u（1）=0,u＇（0）-u＇（1）=u（1/2）,where a ： （0, 1） → [0, ∞） is symmetric on （0, 1） and may be singular at t = 0 and t = 1, f ： [0, ∞） → [O, ∞） is continuous. By using Krasnoselskii＇s fixed point theorem ia a cone, we get some existence results of positive solutions for the problem. The associated Green＇s function for the three-point boundary value problem is also given.

In this paper, we prove higher integrability results for the gradient of the solutions of some elliptic equations with degenerate coercivity whose prototype is where for example, a(x,u)=(1+|u|)^−θ with θ ∈ (0,1). A group of necessary and sufficient conditions for the nonoscillation of a second order linear delayequation with impulses(r(t)u')'=-p(t)u(t-τ)are obtained in this paper,where p(t)=sum from ∞to n=1 a_n δ(t-t_n),δ(t) is a Dirac δ-unction,and for each n∈N,a_n>0,t_n→∞as n→∞.Furthermore,the boundedness of the solutions is also investigated if the equationis nonoscillatory.An example is given to illustrate the use of the main theorems.     

Global-in-time Uniform Convergence for Linear Hyperbolic-Parabolic Singular Perturbations

We consider the Cauchy problem εu^″ε ＋ δu′ε ＋ Auε = 0, uε（0） = uo, u′ε（0） = ul, where ε 〉 0, δ 〉 0, H is a Hilbert space, and A is a self-adjoint linear non-negative operator on H with dense domain D（A）. We study the convergence of （uε） to the solution of the limit problem ,δu＇ ＋ Au = 0, u（0） = u0. For initial data （u0, u1） ∈ D（A1/2）× H, we prove global-in-time convergence with respect to strong topologies. Moreover, we estimate the convergence rate in the case where （u0, u1）∈ D（A3/2） ∈ D（A1/2）, and we show that this regularity requirement is sharp for our estimates. We give also an upper bound for ｜u′ε（t）｜ which does not depend on ε.     

A Priori Bounds for Periodic Solutions of a Kind of Second Order Neutral Functional Differential Equation with Multiple Deviating Arguments

Thc main aim of this paper is to use the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory for studying the existence of periodic solutions to a kind of neutral functional differential equation as follows：（x（t）-^n∑i=1cix（t-ri））″=f（x（t））x′＋g（x（t-τ））＋p（t）.In order to do so, we analyze the structure of the linear difference operator A ： C2π→C2π, [Ax]（t） =x（t）-∑^ni=1cix（t-ri）to determine some flmdamental properties first, which we are going to use throughout this paper. Meanwhile, we also prove some new inequalities which are useful for estimating a priori bounds of periodie solutions.     

The normal subgroup structure of the extended Hecke groups

We consider the extended Hecke groups generated by T(z) = −1/z, S(z) = −1/(z + λ) and R(z) = 1/z with λ ≥ 2. In this paper, firstly, we study the fundamental region of the extended Hecke groups . Then, we determine the abstract group structure of the commutator subgroups , the even subgroup , and the power subgroups of the extended Hecke groups . Also, finally, we give some relations between them.     

On the Convergence of Products γ^-sh1hn in the Adams Spectral Sequence

Abstract Let A be the mod p Steenrod algebra and S the sphere spectrum localized at p, where p is an odd prime. In 2001 Lin detected a new family in the stable homotopy of spheres which is represented by （b0hn-h1bn-1）∈ ExtA^3,（p^n＋p）q（Zp,Zp） in the Adams spectral sequence. At the same time, he proved that i.（hlhn） ∈ExtA^2,（p^n＋P）q（H^＊M, Zp） is a permanent cycle in the Adams spectral sequence and converges to a nontrivial element ξn∈π（p^n＋p）q-2M. In this paper, with Lin＇s results, we make use of the Adams spectral sequence and the May spectral sequence to detect a new nontrivial family of homotopy elements jj′j^-γsi^-i′ξn in the stable homotopy groups of spheres. The new one is of degree p^nq ＋ sp^2q ＋ spq ＋ （s - 2）q ＋ s - 6 and is represented up to a nonzero scalar by hlhnγ-s in the E2^s＋2,＊-term of the Adams spectral sequence, where p ≥ 7, q = 2（p - 1）, n ≥ 4 and 3 ≤ s 〈 p.
