An oriented tetrahedron is a set of four vertices and four cyclic triples with the property that any ordered pair of vertices is contained in exactly one of the cyclic triples. A tetrahedral quadruple system of order n (briefly TQS(n)) is a pair (X,B), where X is an nelement set and B is a set of oriented tetrahedra such that every cyclic triple on X is contained in a unique member of B. A TQS(n) (X,B) is pure if there do not exist two oriented tetrahedra with the same vertex set. In this paper, we show that there is a pure TQS(n) if and only if n = 2,4 (mod 6), n > 4, or n = 1,5 (mod 12). One corollary is that there is a simple two-fold quadruple system of order n if and only if n = 2,4 (mod 6) and n > 4, or n = 1,5 (mod 12). Another corollary is that there is an overlarge set of pure Mendelsohn triple systems of order n for n=1,3 (mod 6), n > 3, or n =0,4 (mod 12).  相似文献

A class of bilinear stochastic partial differential equations is investigated using a semigroup approach. Existence of a mild solution is obtained by proving a maximal inequality for stochastic convolution integrals with a stochastic evolution operator U(t,s) as integrand; moreover, we show the existence of a regular version in t. Under an additional assumption we show the existence of a continuous version of U (.,.) in the space of bounded operators on the state space. Finally, we analyse a p.d.e. model of a simply supported beam to illustrate the applicability of our results to modelling uncertainty in large flexible space structures  相似文献

In 1976, Lindner and Rosa (Ars Combin. 1 (1976), 159–166) showed that a partial triple system with λ > 1 can be embedded in a finite triple system with the same λ. This result is improved in the case when λ is even by embedding a partial triple system on υ symbols in a triple system on t symbols, t ≡ 0,1 (mod 3), for all t >/ 3(λυ2 + υ(2 ? λ) + 1). In the process, it is shown that for any λ >/ 1, a partial directed triple system on υ symbols can be embedded in a directed triple system on t symbols, t ≡ 0, 1 (mod 3), for all t ? 6λv2 + 6v(1 ? λ) + 3, thus generalizing a result of Hamm (Proceedings, 14th Southeastern Conf. on Combinatorics, Graph Theory, and Computing, Boca Raton, Florida, 1983).  相似文献

For large sparse non-Hermitian positive definite system of linear equations,we present several variants of the Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting(HSS)about the coefficient matrix and establish correspondingly several HSS-based iterative schemes.Theoretical analyses show that these methods are convergent unconditionally to the exact solution of the referred system of linear equations,and they may show advantages on problems that the HSS method is ineffiective.  相似文献

In this work we introduce the concept of n –1-isomorphism between Steiner systems (this coincides with the concept of isomorphism whenever n=1).Precisely two Steiner systems S1 and S2 are said to be n–1-isomorphic if there exist n partial systems S i (1) ,...,S i (n) contained in Si, i.{1,2},such that S 1 (k) and S 2 (k) are isomorphic for each k{1,..., n}.The n–1-isomorphisms are also used to study nets replacements, see Ostrom [8], and to study the transformation methods of designs and other incidence structures introduced in [9] and generalized in [1] and [10].Work done under the auspicies of G.N.S.A.G.A. supported by 40% grants of M.U.R.S.T.  相似文献

In this study, the application of a meta-modelling technique to structure complex environments is demonstrated with two examples. A special situation-operator model developed to model the human-machine-interaction is applied to automated supervision within the HMI context and to realize flexible and situated interaction of autonomous systems. A concept to automated monitoring of human operators is introduced to illustrate the structuring of complex environments as the first example. In the second example, this modelling technique is applied to a mobile robot to autonomously build and update a mental model of the interaction with the environment as an example of a cognitive technical system.  相似文献

We study the adaptive dynamics of predator–prey systems modeled by a dynamical system in which the traits of predators and prey are allowed to evolve by small mutations. When only the prey are allowed to evolve, and the size of the mutational change tends to 0, the system does not exhibit long term prey coexistence and the trait of the resident prey type converges to the solution of an ODE. When only the predators are allowed to evolve, coexistence of predators occurs. In this case, depending on the parameters being varied, we see that (i) the number of coexisting predators remains tight and the differences in traits from a reference species converge in distribution to a limit, or (ii) the number of coexisting predators tends to infinity, and we calculate the asymptotic rate at which the traits of the least and most “fit” predators in the population increase. This last result is obtained by comparison with a branching random walk killed to the left of a linear boundary and a finite branching–selection particle system.  相似文献

Here the definition is weakened by imposing less stringent integrability conditions, some in terms of perhaps conditionally convergent improper integrals, on the matrix function relating A and B. The extended relation, t quasi-similarity, is not symmetric or transitive; however, it is shown that if (2) is t quasi-similar to (1)and (1)is uniformly, uniformly asymptotically, or strictly stable, then so is (2).Results are also given concerning linear asymptotic equilibrium of (2)in the case where (1)is stricly stable or has linear asymptotic equilibrium.  相似文献

We develop the theory of subproduct systems over the monoid N×N, and the non-self-adjoint operator algebras associated with them. These are double sequences of Hilbert spaces {X(m,n)}m,n=0 equipped with a multiplication given by coisometries from X(i,j)?X(k,l) to X(i+k,j+l). We find that the character space of the norm-closed algebra generated by left multiplication operators (the tensor algebra) is homeomorphic to a complex homogeneous affine algebraic variety intersected with a unit ball. Certain conditions are isolated under which subproduct systems whose tensor algebras are isomorphic must be isomorphic themselves. In the absence of these conditions, we show that two numerical invariants must agree on such subproduct systems. Additionally, we classify the subproduct systems over N×N by means of ideals in algebras of non-commutative polynomials.  相似文献

Evolutionary complexity is measured here by the number of trials/evaluations needed for evolving a logical gate in a nonlinear medium. Behavioral complexity of the gates evolved is characterized in terms of cellular automata behavior. We speculate that hierarchies of behavioral and evolutionary complexities are isomorphic up to some degree, subject to substrate specificity of evolution, and the spectrum of evolution parameters. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The main purpose of this paper is to fill a gap in the literature concerning the problem of designing a sampled-data control law for continuous-time Lur’e systems. The goal is to design a state feedback sampled-data control for this class of nonlinear systems preserving global asymptotic stability and minimizing a guaranteed quadratic cost. The main challenge towards the solution of the proposed problem is to handle this class of nonlinear system in order to propose less conservative design conditions expressed through differential linear matrix inequalities - (DLMIs). Bellman’s Principle of Optimality applied together with the Popov–Lyapunov function that emerges from the celebrated Popov Stability Criterion is the key issue to obtain the reported results. For Hamiltonian systems with non-canonical structure matrix a new class of numerical integrators is proposed. The methods exactly preserve energy, are invariant with respect to linear transformations, and have arbitrarily high order. Those of optimal order also preserve quadratic Casimir functions. The discussion of the order is based on an interpretation as partitioned Runge–Kutta method with infinitely many stages.  相似文献
