We consider a kind of generalized harmonic maps, namely, the VT-harmonic maps. We prove an existence theorem for the Dirichlet problem of VT-harmonic maps from compact manifolds with boundary.

We prove global C0,αC0,α-estimates for harmonic maps from Finsler manifolds into regular balls of Riemannian target manifolds generalizing results of Giaquinta, Hildebrandt, and Hildebrandt, Jost and Widman from Riemannian to Finsler domains. As consequences we obtain a Liouville theorem for entire harmonic maps on simple Finsler manifolds, and an existence theorem for harmonic maps from Finsler manifolds into regular balls of a Riemannian target.  相似文献

In this paper, we study f-harmonicity of some special maps from or into a doubly warped product manifold. First we recall some properties of doubly twisted product manifolds. After showing that the inclusion maps from Riemannian manifolds M and N into the doubly warped product manifold M × μ,λ N can not be proper f-harmonic maps, we use projection maps and product maps to construct nontrivial f-harmonic maps. Thus we obtain some similar results given in [21], such as the conditions for f-harmonicity of projection maps and some characterizations for non-trivial f-harmonicity of the special product maps. Furthermore, we investigate non-trivial f-harmonicity of the product of two harmonic maps.  相似文献

We prove the uniqueness of solutions to Dirichlet problem for p-harmonic maps with images in a small geodesic ball of the target manifold. As a consequence, we show that such maps have Hölder continuous derivatives. This gives an extension of a result by Hildebrandt et al. (Acta Math 138:1–16, 1977) concerning harmonic maps.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive the first and second variation formulas for JC-harmonic maps between Finsler manifolds, and when F″≤ 0 and n ≥ 3, we prove that there is no nondegenerate stable F-harmonic map between a Riemannian unit sphere Sn and any compact Finsler manifold.  相似文献

We investigate p-harmonic maps, p ≥ 2, from a complete non-compact manifold into a non-positively curved target. First, we establish a uniqueness result for the p-harmonic representative in the homotopy class of a constant map. Next, we derive a Caccioppoli inequality for the energy density of a p-harmonic map and we prove a companion Liouville type theorem, provided the domain manifold supports a Sobolev–Poincaré inequality. Finally, we obtain energy estimates for a p-harmonic map converging, with a certain speed, to a given point.   相似文献

f-Harmonic maps were first introduced and studied by Lichnerowicz in 1970. In this paper, the author studies a subclass of f-harmonic maps called f-harmonic morphisms which pull back local harmonic functions to local f-harmonic functions. The author proves that a map between Riemannian manifolds is an f-harmonic morphism if and only if it is a horizontally weakly conformal f-harmonic map. This generalizes the well-known characterization for harmonic morphisms. Some properties and many examples as well as some non-existence of f-harmonic morphisms are given. The author also studies the f-harmonicity of conformal immersions.  相似文献

We establish a volume decreasing result for V-harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds. We apply this result to obtain corresponding results for Weyl harmonic maps from conformal Weyl manifolds to Riemannian manifolds. We also obtain corresponding results for holomorphic maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to quasi-Kähler manifolds, which generalize or improve the partial results in Goldberg and Har’El (Bull Soc Math Grèce 18(1):141–148, 1977, J Differ Geom 14(1):67–80, 1979).  相似文献

Let L be an elliptic operator on a Riemannian manifold M. A function F annihilated by L is said to be L-harmonic. F is said to have moderate growth if and only if F grows at most exponentially in the Riemannian distance. If M is a rank-one symmetric space and L is the Laplace-Beltrami operator for M, the Oshima-Sekiguchi theorem [T. Oshima, J. Sekiguchi, Eigenspaces of invariant differential operators on an affine symmetric space, Invent. Math. 57 (1980) 1-81] states that a L-harmonic function F has moderate growth if and only if F is the Poisson integral of a distribution on the Furstenberg boundary. In this work we prove that this result generalizes to a very large class of homogeneous Riemannian manifolds of negative curvature. We also (i) prove a Liouville type theorem that characterizes the “polynomial-like” harmonic functions which vanish on the boundary in terms of their growth properties, (ii) describe all “polynomial-like” harmonic functions, and (iii) give asymptotic expansions for the Poisson kernel. One consequence of this work is that every Schwartz distribution on the boundary is the boundary value for a L-harmonic function F which is uniquely determined modulo “polynomial-like” harmonic functions.  相似文献

Second variation of harmonic maps between Finsler manifolds   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The first and second variation formulas of the energy functional for a nonde-generate map between Finsler manifolds is derived. As an application, some nonexistence theorems of nonconstant stable harmonic maps from a Finsler manifold to a Riemannian manifold are given.  相似文献

We show that the geodesic flow of a compact Finsler manifold without conjugate points is transitive provided that the universal covering satisfies the uniform Finsler visibility condition. This result is a nontrivial extension of a well known theorem due to Eberlein for Riemannian manifolds. For doing so, we introduce suitable Finsler versions of the concepts of Gromov's δ-hyperbolicity and Eberlein's visibility, and study their consequences.  相似文献

First, we generalize a rigidity result for harmonic maps of Gordon (Gordon (1972) Proc AM Math Soc 33: 433–437) to generalized pluriharmonic maps. We give the construction of generalized pluriharmonic maps from metric tt *-bundles over nearly Kähler manifolds. An application of the last two results is that any metric tt *-bundle over a compact nearly Kähler manifold is trivial (Theorem A). This result we apply to special Kähler manifolds to show that any compact special Kähler manifold is trivial. This is Lu’s theorem (Lu (1999) Math Ann 313: 711–713) for the case of compact special Kähler manifolds. Further we introduce harmonic bundles over nearly Kähler manifolds and study the implications of Theorem A for tt *-bundles coming from harmonic bundles over nearly Kähler manifolds.  相似文献

Polyharmonic functions have been studied in various fields. There are maps between Riemannian manifolds called harmonic morphisms and biharmonic morphisms that preserve harmonic functions and biharmonic functions respectively. In this paper, we introduce the notion of k-polyharmonic morphisms as maps that preserves polyharmonic functions of order k. For k = 3, we obtain several characterizations of triharmonic morphisms. We also give some relationships among harmonic, biharmonic, and triharmonic morphisms, and a relationship between triharmonic morphisms and p-harmonic morphisms.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the characterisation of p -harmonic morphisms between Riemannian manifolds, in the spirit of Fuglede-Ishihara. After a result establishing that p -harmonic morphisms are precisely horizontally weakly conformal p -harmonic maps, we compare ( 2 -)harmonic morphisms and p -harmonic morphisms ( p>2 ).  相似文献

We obtain the Laplacian comparison theorem and the Bishop-Gromov comparison theorem on a Finsler manifold with the weighted Ricci curvature Ric bounded below. As applications, we prove that if the weighted Ricci curvature Ric is bounded below by a positive number, then the manifold must have finite fundamental group, and must be compact if the distortion is also bounded. Moreover, we give the Calabi-Yau linear volume growth theorem on a Finsler manifold with nonnegative weighted Ricci curvature.  相似文献

We study α-harmonic functions on the complement of the sphere and on the complement of the hyperplane in Euclidean spaces of dimension bigger than one, for α?∈?(1,2). We describe the corresponding Hardy spaces and prove the Fatou theorem for α-harmonic functions. We also give explicit formulas for the Martin kernel of the complement of the sphere and for the harmonic measure, Green function and Martin kernel of the complement of the hyperplane for the symmetric α-stable Lévy processes. Some extensions for the relativistic α-stable processes are discussed.  相似文献

We prove that a map f : MN with finite p-energy, p > 2, from a complete manifold (M, á , ñ ){\left(M,\left\langle ,\right\rangle \right)} into a non-positively curved, compact manifold N is homotopic to a constant, provided the negative part of the Ricci curvature of the domain manifold is small in a suitable spectral sense. The result relies on a Liouville-type theorem for finite q-energy, p-harmonic maps under spectral assumptions.  相似文献
