Based on a differentiable merit function proposed by Taji, et al in “Mathematical Programming, 1993, 58: 369-383”, a projected gradient trust region method for the monotone variational inequality problem with convex constraints is presented. Theoretical analysis is given which proves that the proposed algorithm is globally convergent and has a local quadratic convergence rate under some reasonable conditions. The results of numerical experiments are reported to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

A kind of nondecreasing subgradient algorithm with appropriate stopping rule has been proposed for nonsmooth constrained minimization problem. The dual theory is invoked in dealing with the stopping rule and general global minimiizing algorithm is employed as a subroutine of the algorithm. We generalize the D-gap function developed in the literature for variational inequalities to a general equilibrium problem (EP). Through the D-gap function, the equilibrium problem is cast as an unconstrained minimization problem. We give conditions under which any stationary point of the D-gap function is a solution of EP and conditions under which it provides a global error bound for EP. Finally, these results are applied to box-constrained EP and then weaker conditions are established to obtain the desired results for box-constrained EP.  相似文献

An effective continuous algorithm is proposed to find approximate solutions of NP-hardmax-cut problems.The algorithm relaxes the max-cut problem into a continuous nonlinearprogramming problem by replacing n discrete constraints in the original problem with onesingle continuous constraint.A feasible direction method is designed to solve the resultingnonlinear programming problem.The method employs only the gradient evaluations ofthe objective function,and no any matrix calculations and no line searches are required.This greatly reduces the calculation cost of the method,and is suitable for the solutionof large size max-cut problems.The convergence properties of the proposed method toKKT points of the nonlinear programming are analyzed.If the solution obtained by theproposed method is a global solution of the nonlinear programming problem,the solutionwill provide an upper bound on the max-cut value.Then an approximate solution to themax-cut problem is generated from the solution of the nonlinear programming and providesa lower bound on the max-cut value.Numerical experiments and comparisons on somemax-cut test problems(small and large size)show that the proposed algorithm is efficientto get the exact solutions for all small test problems and well satisfied solutions for mostof the large size test problems with less calculation costs.  相似文献

The generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP) is a generalization of the standard Nash equilibrium problem (NEP),in which both the utility function and the strategy space of each player depend on the strategies chosen by all other players.This problem has been used to model various problems in applications.However,the convergent solution algorithms are extremely scare in the literature.In this paper,we present an incremental penalty method for the GNEP,and show that a solution of the GNEP can be found by solving a sequence of smooth NEPs.We then apply the semismooth Newton method with Armijo line search to solve latter problems and provide some results of numerical experiments to illustrate the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this paper,a semiparametric two-sample density ratio model is considered and the empirical likelihood method is applied to obtain the parameters estimation.A commonly occurring problem in computing is that the empirical likelihood function may be a concaveconvex function.Here a simple Lagrange saddle point algorithm is presented for computing the saddle point of the empirical likelihood function when the Lagrange multiplier has no explicit solution.So we can obtain the maximum empirical likelihood estimation (MELE) of parameters.Monte Carlo simulations are presented to illustrate the Lagrange saddle point algorithm.  相似文献

In this work,we present a new method for convex shape representation,which is regardless of the dimension of the concerned objects,using level-set approaches.To the best of our knowledge,the proposed prior is the first one which can work for high dimensional objects.Convexity prior is very useful for object completion in computer vision.It is a very challenging task to represent high dimensional convex objects.In this paper,we first prove that the convexity of the considered object is equivalent to the convexity of the associated signed distance function.Then,the second order condition of convex functions is used to characterize the shape convexity equivalently.We apply this new method to two applications:object segmentation with convexity prior and convex hull problem(especially with outliers).For both applications,the involved problems can be written as a general optimization problem with three constraints.An algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers is presented for the optimization problem.Numerical experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed representation method and algorithm.  相似文献

The self-scaling quasi-Newton method solves an unconstrained optimization problem by scaling the Hessian approximation matrix before it is updated at each iteration to avoid the possible large eigenvalues in the Hessian approximation matrices of the objective function. It has been proved in the literature that this method has the global and superlinear convergence when the objective function is convex (or even uniformly convex). We propose to solve unconstrained nonconvex optimization problems by a self-scaling BFGS algorithm with nonmonotone linear search. Nonmonotone line search has been recognized in numerical practices as a competitive approach for solving large-scale nonlinear problems. We consider two different nonmonotone line search forms and study the global convergence of these nonmonotone self-scale BFGS algorithms. We prove that, under some weaker condition than that in the literature, both forms of the self-scaling BFGS algorithm are globally convergent for unconstrained nonconvex optimization problems.  相似文献

In this paper, a regularization Newton method for mixed complementarity problem(MCP) based on the reformulation of MCP in [1] is proposed. Its global conver-gence is proved under the assumption that F is a Po-function.
