Dynamical behavior of an epidemic model with a nonlinear incidence rate   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In this paper, we study the global dynamics of an epidemic model with vital dynamics and nonlinear incidence rate of saturated mass action. By carrying out global qualitative and bifurcation analyses, it is shown that either the number of infective individuals tends to zero as time evolves or there is a region such that the disease will be persistent if the initial position lies in the region and the disease will disappear if the initial position lies outside this region. When such a region exists, it is shown that the model undergoes a Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation, i.e., it exhibits a saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcations, and a homoclinic bifurcation. Existence of none, one or two limit cycles is also discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the bifurcations of an epidemic model with non-monotonic incidence rate of saturated mass action, which describes the psychological effects of the community on certain serious diseases when the number of infective is getting larger. By carrying out the bifurcation analysis of the model, we show that there exist some values of the model parameters such that numerous kinds of bifurcation occur for the model, such as Hopf bifurcation, Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation.  相似文献

An epidemic model with standard incidence rate and saturated treatment function of infectious individuals is proposed to understand the effect of the capacity for treatment of infective individuals on the disease spread. The treatment function in this paper is a continuous and differential function which exhibits the effect of delayed treatment when the rate of treatment is lower and the number of infected individuals is getting larger. It is proved that the existence and stability of the disease-free and endemic equilibria for the model are not only related to the basic reproduction number but also to the capacity for treatment of infective individuals. And a backward bifurcation is found when the capacity is not enough. By computing the first Lyapunov coefficient, we can determine the type of Hopf bifurcation, i.e., subcritical Hopf bifurcation or supercritical Hopf bifurcation. We also show that under some conditions the model undergoes Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation. Finally, numerical simulations are given to support some of the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, the control of Hopf bifurcation in an Internet congestion model with a single link accessed by a single source is presented. By choosing the gain parameter as a bifurcation parameter, it is found that the system without control cannot guarantee a stationary sending rate. Furthermore, Hopf bifurcation occurs when the positive gain parameter of the system exceeds a critical value. For Internet congestion model, a control model based on delayed feedback is proposed and analyzed for delaying the onset of undesirable Hopf bifurcation. Numerical simulations are given to justify the validity of delayed feedback controller in bifurcation control.  相似文献

In this paper we establish an SIR model with a standard incidence rate and a nonlinear recovery rate, formulated to consider the impact of available resource of the public health system especially the number of hospital beds. For the three dimensional model with total population regulated by both demographics and diseases incidence, we prove that the model can undergo backward bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and cusp type of Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension 3. We present the bifurcation diagram near the cusp type of Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation point of codimension 3 and give epidemiological interpretation of the complex dynamical behaviors of endemic due to the variation of the number of hospital beds. This study suggests that maintaining enough number of hospital beds is crucial for the control of the infectious diseases.  相似文献

An infection-age structured epidemic model with a nonlinear incidence rate is investigated.We formulate the model as an abstract non-densely defined Cauchy problem and derive the condition which guarantees the existence and uniqueness for positive age-dependent equilibrium of the model.By analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation and applying the normal form theory presented recently for non-densely defined semilinear equations,we show that the SIR(susceptible-infected-recovered)epidemic model undergoes Zero-Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium which is the main result of this paper.  相似文献

In this paper, the dynamics behavior of a delayed viral infection model with logistic growth and immune impairment is studied. It is shown that there exist three equilibria. By analyzing the characteristic equations, the local stability of the infection-free equilibrium and the immune-exhausted equilibrium of the model are established. By using suitable Lyapunov functional and LaSalle invariant principle, it is proved that the two equilibria are globally asymptotically stable. In the following, the stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated. Furthermore, we investigate the existence of Hopf bifurcation by using a delay as a bifurcation parameter. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to explain the mathematical conclusions.  相似文献

Functional response of the Holling type II is incorporated into a predator–prey model with predators using hawk‐dove tactics to consider combination effects of nonlinear functional response and individual tactics. By mathematical analysis, it is shown that the model undergoes a sequence of bifurcations including saddle‐node bifurcation, supercritical Hopf bifurcation and homoclinic bifurcation. New phenomena are found that include the bistable coexistence of prey and predators in the form of a stable limit cycle and a stable positive equilibrium, the bistable coexistence of prey and predators in a large stable limit cycle that encloses three positive equilibria and a stable positive equilibrium within the cycle, and the bistable coexistence of two stable limit cycles.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose and analyze a tuberculosis (TB) model with exogenous re-infection. We assume that treated individual may be again infected by infectious individual. The model exhibits two bifurcations viz. transcritical bifurcation when the basic reproductive number R 0?=?1 and backward bifurcation where the disease transmission rate β plays as control parameter. The persistent of the model and, the local and global stability criteria of disease-free and endemic equilibria are discussed. By carrying out bifurcation analysis, it is shown that the model exhibits the bistability and undergoes the Hopf bifurcation when immunological memory is everlasting i.e. when σ?=?0. Lastly, some simulations are given to verify our analytical results.  相似文献

In this paper, a discrete epidemic model with nonlinear incidence rate obtained by the forward Euler method is investigated. The conditions for existence of codimension-1 bifurcations (fold bifurcation, flip bifurcation and Neimark-Sacker bifurcation) are derived by using the center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory. Furthermore, the condition for the occurrence of codimension-2 bifurcation (fold-flip bifurcation) is presented. In order to eliminate the chaos or Neimark-Sacker bifurcation of the discrete epidemic model, a tracking controller is designed. The number of the infectives tends to zero when the number of iterations is gradually increasing, that is, the disease disappears gradually. Finally, numerical simulations not only illustrate the validity of the proposed results, but also display the interesting and complex dynamical behaviors.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a bioeconomic differential algebraic predator–prey model with Holling type II functional response and nonlinear prey harvesting. As the nonlinear prey harvesting is introduced, the proposed model displays a complex dynamics in the predator–prey plane. Taking into account of the economic factor, our predator–prey system is established by bioeconomic differential algebraic equations. The effect of economic profit on the proposed model is analyzed by viewing it as a bifurcation parameter. By jointly using the normal form of differential algebraic models and the bifurcation theory, the stability and bifurcations (singularity induced bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation) are discussed. These results obtained here reveal richer dynamics of the bioeconomic differential algebraic predator–prey model with nonlinear prey harvesting, and suggest a guidance for harvesting in the practical word. Finally, numerical simulations are given to demonstrate the results.  相似文献

We develop and analyze a simple SIV epidemic model including susceptible, infected and imperfectly vaccinated classes, with a nonlinear incidence rate. We investigate the interaction of the nonlinear incidence and partial immunity. Our main results show that nonlinear incidence rate could induce the forward bifurcation with hysteresis except for the backward bifurcation. The plausible effects of vaccination program have been demonstrated by two models with nonlinear incidence rate. Vaccination program may contribute to disease spread, depending on which transmission term involves nonlinear incidence rate.  相似文献

In this paper, we revisit a discrete predator-prey model with Allee effect and Holling type-I functional response. The most important is for us to find the bifurcation difference: a flip bifurcation occurring at the fixed point $E_3$ in the known results cannot happen in our results. The reason leading to this kind of difference is the different discrete method. In order to demonstrate this, we first simplify corresponding continuous predator-prey model. Then, we apply a different discretization method to this new continuous model to derive a new discrete model. Next, we consider the dynamics of this new discrete model in details. By using a key lemma, the existence and local stability of nonnegative fixed points $E_0$, $E_1$, $E_2$ and $E_3$ are completely studied. By employing the Center Manifold Theorem and bifurcation theory, the conditions for the occurrences of Neimark-Sacker bifurcation and transcritical bifurcation are obtained. Our results complete the corresponding ones in a known literature. Numerical simulations are also given to verify the existence of Neimark-Sacker bifurcation.  相似文献
