Some applications of the Knaster-Kuratowski and Mazurkiewicz principle in hyperconvex metric spaces

In this paper, as applications of the Knaster-Kuratowski and Mazurkiewicz principle in the hyperconvex version, we obtain the Ky Fan type matching theorems for closed and open covers. As applications, some intersection theorems which are hyperconvex versions of corresponding results due to Alexandroff and Pasynkoff, Fan, Klee, Horváth, and Lassonde are established. Then, the Ky Fan type best approximation theorem and Schauder-Tychonoff fixed-point theorem (i.e., Fan-Glicksberg fixed-point theorem) for set-valued mappings in noncompact hyperconvex spaces are also given. Finally, we obtain a general form of the Browder-Fan fixed-point theorem for set-valued mappings in noncompact hyperconvex spaces. These results include corresponding results in the literature as special cases.     

The Generic Stability of Fixed Points for Upper Semicontinuous Mappings in Hyperconvex Metric Spaces

The main goal of this paper is to establish the generic stability of Fan-Glicksberg type fixed points in hyperconvex metric spaces. In order to do so, we first give Fan-Glicksberg type fixed point theorem in hyperconvex metric spaces and then the generic stability of fixed points for upper semicontinuous set-valued mappings is obtained. Our generic stability results show that almost all of fixed points of upper semicontinuous set-valued mappings defined in compact hyperconvex metric spaces are stable in the sense of Baire category theory     

Some applications of the KKM-mapping principle in hyperconvex metric spaces

In 1996 Khamsi proved a result in hyperconvex metric spaces which is an analogue of the famous KKM-maps principle proved by Ky Fan in 1972 for topological vector spaces.In this note, using the above result due to Khamsi, we establish two results in hyperconvex metric spaces which are analogues of the famous Ky Fan inequality and Sion minimax theorem proved for topological vector spaces in 1972 and 1958, respectively.

In this paper, we present a best approximation theorem for set-valued mappings in hyperconvex metric spaces, which generalize the well-known result of Kirk, Sims and Yuan [W.A. Kirk, B. Sims, X.Z. Yuan, The Knaster–Kuratowski and Mazurkiewicz theory in hyperconvex metric spaces and some of its applications, Nonlinear Anal. 39 (2000) 611–627].
