The present paper deals with Tricomi and Frankl problems for generalized Chaplygin equations in multiply connected domains. We first give the representation of solutions of the Tricomi problem for the equations, and then prove the uniqueness and existence of solutions for the problem by a new method, i.e. the complex functions in the elliptic domain and the hyperbolic complex functions in hyperbolic domain are used. In this paper, we first consider the least-squares solution of the matrix inverse problem as follows: Find a hermitian anti-reflexive matrix corresponding to a given generalized reflection matrix J such that for given matrices X, B we have minA ||AX - B||. The existence theorems are obtained, and a general representation of such a matrix is presented. We denote the set of such matrices by SE. Then the matrix nearness problem for the matrix inverse problem is discussed. That is: Given an arbitrary A^*, find a matrix A E SE which is nearest to A^* in Frobenius norm. The author considers the life-span of classical solutions to Cauchy problem for general first order quasilinear strictly hyperbolic systems in two independent variables with “slow“ decay initial data. By constructing an example, first it is illustrated that the classical solution to this kind of Cauchy problem may blow up in a finite time, even if the system is weakly linearly degenerate. Then some lower bounds of the life-span of classical solutions are given in the casethat the system is weakly linearly degenerate. These estimates imply that, when the system is weakly linearly degenerate, the classical solution exists almost globally in time. Finally, it is proved that Theorems 1.1-1.3 in [2] are still valid for this kind of initial data.  相似文献

Under the internal dissipative condition, the Cauchy problem for inhomogeneous quasilinear hyperbolic systems with small initial data admits a unique global C1 solution, which exponentially decays to zero as t → +∞, while if the coefficient matrixΘ of boundary conditions satisfies the boundary dissipative condition, the mixed initialboundary value problem with small initial data for quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear terms of at least second order admits a unique global C1 solution, which also exponentially decays to zero as t → +∞. In this paper, under more general conditions, the authors investigate the combined effect of the internal dissipative condition and the boundary dissipative condition, and prove the global existence and exponential decay of the C1 solution to the mixed initial-boundary value problem for quasilinear hyperbolic systems with small initial data. This stability result is applied to a kind of models, and an example is given to show the possible exponential instability if the corresponding conditions are not satisfied.  相似文献

A complete study of the generalized factorization for a group of 2×2 matrix functions of the form G=IN, where , I denotes the 2×2 identity matrix and N represents a rational nilpotent matrix function, is presented. A closely related class involving the same matrix N is also studied. The canonical and non-canonical factorizations are considered and explicit formulas are obtained for the partial indices and the factors in such factorizations. It is shown in particular that only one of the columns in the factors needs to be determined, as a solution to a homogeneous linear Riemann–Hilbert problem, the other column being expressed in terms of the first. Necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of a canonical factorization within the same class are established, as well as explicit formulas for the factors in this case.  相似文献

When solving a sequence of related linear systems by iterative methods, it is common to reuse the preconditioner for several systems, and then to recompute the preconditioner when the matrix has changed significantly. Rather than recomputing the preconditioner from scratch, it is potentially more efficient to update the previous preconditioner. Unfortunately, it is not always known how to update a preconditioner, for example, when the preconditioner is an incomplete factorization. A recently proposed iterative algorithm for computing incomplete factorizations, however, is able to exploit an initial guess, unlike existing algorithms for incomplete factorizations. By treating a previous factorization as an initial guess to this algorithm, an incomplete factorization may thus be updated. We use a sequence of problems from model order reduction. Experimental results using an optimized GPU implementation show that updating a previous factorization can be inexpensive and effective, making solving sequences of linear systems a potential niche problem for the iterative incomplete factorization algorithm.  相似文献

New methods for computing eigenvectors of symmetric block tridiagonal matrices based on twisted block factorizations are explored. The relation of the block where two twisted factorizations meet to an eigenvector of the block tridiagonal matrix is reviewed. Based on this, several new algorithmic strategies for computing the eigenvector efficiently are motivated and designed. The underlying idea is to determine a good starting vector for an inverse iteration process from the twisted block factorizations such that a good eigenvector approximation can be computed with a single step of inverse iteration.  相似文献

Computational efficient methods for updating seemingly unrelated regressions models with new observations are proposed. A recursive algorithm to solve a series of updating problems is developed. The algorithm is based on orthogonal transformations and has as main computational tool the updated generalized QR decomposition (UGQRD). Strategies to compute the orthogonal factorizations by exploiting the block-sparse structure of the matrices are designed. The problems of adding and deleting exogenous variables from the seemingly unrelated regressions model have also been investigated. The solution of these problems utilize the strategies for computing the UGQRD.  相似文献

In this paper, we first study convergence of nonstationary multisplitting methods associated with a multisplitting which is obtained from the ILU factorizations for solving a linear system whose coefficient matrix is a large sparse H-matrix. We next study a parallel implementation of the relaxed nonstationary two-stage multisplitting method (called Algorithm 2 in this paper) using ILU factorizations as inner splittings and an application of Algorithm 2 to parallel preconditioner of Krylov subspace methods. Lastly, we provide parallel performance results of both Algorithm 2 using ILU factorizations as inner splittings and the BiCGSTAB with a parallel preconditioner which is derived from Algorithm 2 on the IBM p690 supercomputer.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of principal and nonprincipal solutions for second order differential equations having fixed moments of impulse actions is obtained. The arguments are based on Polya and Trench factorizations as in non-impulsive differential equations, so we first establish these factorizations. Making use of the existence of nonprincipal solutions we also establish new oscillation criteria for nonhomogeneous impulsive differential equations. Examples are provided with numerical simulations to illustrate the relevance of the results.  相似文献
