Let [E(Ω)]p be the Cartesian product of the space of real-valued infinitely differentiable functions on a connected open set Ω in Rn with itself p-times. The finitely generated submodules of [E(Ω)]p are of the form im(F) where F: [E(Ω)]q → [E(Ω)]p is a p × q matrix of infinitely differentiable functions on Ω. Let r = max{rank(F(x)): x ? Ω}. The main results of the present paper are that for Ω ? Rn, if the finitely generated submodule im(F) is closed in [E(Ω)]p, then for every x?ω with rank(F(x)) < r there exists an r × r sub-matrix A of F such that x is a zero of finite order of det(A), and for Ω ? The weighted Sobolev-Lions type spaces W pl,γ(Ω; E0, E) = W pl,γ(Ω; E) ∩ Lp,γ (Ω; E0) are studied, where E0, E are two Banach spaces and E0 is continuously and densely embedded on E. A new concept of capacity of region Ω∈ Rn in W pl,γ(; E0, E) is introduced. Several conditions in terms of capacity of region Ω and interpolations of E0 and E are found such that ensure the continuity and compactness of embedding operators. In particular, the most regular class of interpolation spaces Eα between E0 and E, depending of α and l, are found such that mixed differential operators Dα are bounded and compact from W pl,γ(Ω; E0, E) to Eα-valued Lp,γ spaces. In applications, the maximal regularity for differential-operator equations with parameters are studied.  相似文献

We study boundary trace embedding theorems for variable exponent Sobolev space W1,p(⋅)(Ω). Let Ω be an open (bounded or unbounded) domain in RN satisfying strong local Lipschitz condition. Under the hypotheses that pL(Ω), 1?infp(x)?supp(x)<N, |∇p|∈Lγ(⋅)(Ω), where γL(Ω) and infγ(x)>N, we prove that there is a continuous boundary trace embedding W1,p(⋅)(Ω)→Lq(⋅)(∂Ω) provided q(⋅), a measurable function on ∂Ω, satisfies condition for x∈∂Ω.  相似文献

In a domain D=Ω\ER n , we consider a nonlinear higher-order elliptic equation such that the corresponding energy space is W p m (D)?W q 1 (D), q>mp, and estimate a solution u(x) of this equation satisfying the condition u(x)?kf(x)W p m (D)?W q 1 (D), where kR 1, f(x)C 0 (Ω), and f(x)=1 for xF. We generalize a construction of partial difference sets (PDS) by Chen, Ray-Chaudhuri, and Xiang through a study of the Teichmüller sets of the Galois rings. Let R=GR(p2, t) be the Galois ring of characteristic p2 and rank t with Teichmüller set T and let π:RR/pR be the natural homomorphism. We give a construction of PDS in R with the parameters ν=p2t, k=r(pt−1), λ=pt+r2−3r, μ=r2r, where r=lpts(p, t), 1≤lps(p, t), and s(p, t) is the largest dimension of a GF(p)-subspace WR/pR such that π−1(W)∩T generates a subgroup of R of rank <t. We prove that s(p, t) is the largest dimension of a GF(p)-subspace W of GF(pt) such that dim Wp<t, where Wp is the GF(p)-space generated by {∏pi=1wiwiW, 1≤ip}. We determine the values of s(p, t) completely and solve a general problem about dimEWr for an E-vector space W in a finite extension of a finite field E. The PDS constructed here contain the family constructed by Chen, Ray-Chaudhuri, and Xiang and have a wider range of parameters.  相似文献

We study the boundary value problem −div(log(1+q|∇u|)|∇u|p−2u)=f(u) in Ω, u=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in RN with smooth boundary. We distinguish the cases where either f(u)=−λ|u|p−2u+|u|r−2u or f(u)=λ|u|p−2u−|u|r−2u, with p, q>1, p+q<min{N,r}, and r<(NpN+p)/(Np). In the first case we show the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for any λ>0. In the second case we prove the existence of a nontrivial weak solution if λ is sufficiently large. Our approach relies on adequate variational methods in Orlicz-Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

We study the approximation of functions from anisotropic Sobolev classes B(Wrp([0,1]d)) and Hölder-Nikolskii classes B(Hrp([0,1]d)) in the Lq([0,1]d) norm with qp in the quantum model of computation. We determine the quantum query complexity of this problem up to logarithmic factors. It shows that the quantum algorithms are significantly better than the classical deterministic or randomized algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we determine the exact value of average n − K width n(Wrpq(R), Lq(R)) of Sobolev-Wiener class Wrpq(R) in the metric Lq(R) for 1 > qp > ∞ and get the value of n(Wrp(R), Lqp(R)) for the dual case. We also solve the optimal interpolation problems of Wrpq(R) in the metric Lq(R) and Wrp(R) in the metric Lqp(R) for 1 < qp < ∞.  相似文献

Making use of an identity of Euler's involving the partition function p(n), Kolberg (Math. Scand.7 (1959), 377–378) showed that p(n) assumes both even and odd values infinitely often. His method admits of refinement, and as a consequence we are led to the following more comprehensive result: Let q ? 2, 0 ? r < q and denote by Er,q(N) the number of positive integers n? The existence of local (in time) solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for the following degenerate parabolic equation: ut(x,t)−Δpu(x,t)−|u|q−2u(x,t)=f(x,t), (x,t)∈Ω×(0,T), where 2?p<q<+∞, Ω is a bounded domain in RN, is given and Δp denotes the so-called p-Laplacian defined by Δpu:=∇⋅(|∇u|p−2u), with initial data u0Lr(Ω) is proved under r>N(qp)/p without imposing any smallness on u0 and f. To this end, the above problem is reduced into the Cauchy problem for an evolution equation governed by the difference of two subdifferential operators in a reflexive Banach space, and the theory of subdifferential operators and potential well method are employed to establish energy estimates. Particularly, Lr-estimates of solutions play a crucial role to construct a time-local solution and reveal the dependence of the time interval [0,T0] in which the problem admits a solution. We study the existence, uniqueness and regularity of positive solutions of the parabolic equation ut−Δu=a(x)uq+b(x)up in a bounded domain and with Dirichlet's condition on the boundary. We consider here aLα(Ω), bLβ(Ω) and 0<q?1<p. The initial data u(0)=u0 is considered in the space Lr(Ω), r?1. We investigate optimal non-linear approximations of multivariate periodic functions with mixed smoothness. In particular, we study optimal approximation using sets of finite cardinality (as measured by the classical entropy number), as well as sets of finite pseudo-dimension (as measured by the non-linear widths introduced by Ratsaby and Maiorov). Approximation error is measured in the Lq(Td)-sense, where Td is the d-dimensional torus. The functions to be approximated are in the unit ball SBrpθ of the mixed smoothness Besov space or in the unit ball SWrp of the mixed smoothness Sobolev space. For 1<p, q<∞, 0<θ⩽∞ and r>0 satisfying some restrictions, we establish asymptotic orders of these quantities, as well as construct asymptotically optimal approximation algorithms. We particularly prove that for either r>1/p and θp or r>(1/p−1/q)+ and θ⩾min{q, 2}, the asymptotic orders of these quantities for the Besov class SBrpθ are both nr(log n)(d−1)(r+1/2−1/θ).  相似文献

The problem of capture in a pursuit game which is described by a linear retarded functional differential equation is considered. The initial function belongs to the Sobolev space W2(1). The target is either a subset of W2(1) a point in W2(1), a subset of the Euclidean space En or a point of En. There is capture if the initial function can be forced to the target by the pursuer no matter what the quarry does. The concept of capture therefore formalizes the concepts of controllability under unpredictable disturbances. This is proved to be equivalent to the controllability of an associated linear retarded functional differential equation. There is nothing in (2) (6) or (7) below which restricts the control sets to be of the same dimension as the phase space. Our results can be applied in (2) for example, if the constraint sets Q′, P′ are subsets of Em and Ei respectively with q(t) = C(t) q′(t), − p(t) = B(t) p′(t), q′(t) ε Emp′(t) ε Er and B(t) is an n × r′-matrices and C(t) an n × m-matrix.  相似文献

Under the assumptions that p locally satisfies |p(x) – p(x)| ≤ C/(– ln |xy|) and is constant outside some large ball, we prove that Iα : Lp(·)(?d) → Lp?(·)(?d), where . If p is given only on a bounded domain Ω with Lipschitz boundary we show how to extend p to on ?d such that there exists a bounded linear extension operator ? : W1,p(·)(Ω) ? (?d), while the bounds and the continuity condition of p are preserved. As an application of Riesz potentials we prove the optimal Sobolev embeddings Wk,p(·)(?d) ?Lp*(·)(Rd) with and W1,p(·)(Ω) ? Linearized elastic energies are derived from rescaled nonlinear energies by means of Γ-convergence. The present paper is a continuation of the author’s work (Hachenberger (2001) [3]) on primitivity and complete normality. For certain 2-power extensions E over a Galois field Fq, we are going to establish the existence of a primitive element which simultaneously generates a normal basis over every intermediate field of E/Fq. The main result is as follows: Letq≡3mod4and letm(q)≥3be the largest integer such that2m(q)dividesq2−1; ifE=Fq2l, wherelm(q)+3, then there exists a primitive element inEthat is completely normal overFq.Our method not only shows existence but also gives a fairly large lower bound on the number of primitive completely normal elements. In the above case this number is at least 4⋅(q−1)2l−2. We are further going to discuss lower bounds on the number of such elements in r-power extensions, where r=2 and q≡1mod4, or where r is an odd prime, or where r is equal to the characteristic of the underlying field.  相似文献
