The influence of X-semipermutability of subgroups on the structure of finite groups

Let A be a subgroup of a group G and X be a nonempty subset of G. A is said to be X-semipermutable in G if A has a supplement T in G such that A is X-permutable with every subgroup of T. In this paper, we investigate further the influence of X-semipermutability of some subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Some new criteria for a group G to be supersoluble or p-nilpotent are obtained.     

Maximal Orders of Abelian Subgroups in Finite Chevalley Groups

In the present paper, for any finite group G of Lie type (except for ² F ₄(q)), the order a(G) of its large Abelian subgroup is either found or estimated from above and from below (the latter is done for the groups F ₄ (q), E ₆ (q), E ₇ (q), E ₈ (q), and ² E ₆(q ²)). In the groups for which the number a(G) has been found exactly, any large Abelian subgroup coincides with a large unipotent or a large semisimple Abelian subgroup. For the groups F ₄ (q), E ₆ (q), E ₇ (q), E ₈ (q), and ² E ₆(q ²)), it is shown that if an Abelian subgroup contains a noncentral semisimple element, then its order is less than the order of an Abelian unipotent group. Hence in these groups the large Abelian subgroups are unipotent, and in order to find the value of a(G) for them, it is necessary to find the orders of the large unipotent Abelian subgroups. Thus it is proved that in a finite group of Lie type (except for ² F ₄(q))) any large Abelian subgroup is either a large unipotent or a large semisimple Abelian subgroup.     

p-Fitting子群的CAP-嵌入子群

群G的子群H称为G的CAP-嵌入子群,如果对于|H|的每个素因子p,存在G的某个CAP-子群K,使得H的某个Sylow p-子群也是K的一个Sylowp-子群.本文通过假定G的p-Fitting子群F_p(G)的某个Sylow p-子群的每个极大子群是G的CAP-嵌入子群,得到一些新的结果.     

ℳ-Supplemented Subgroups and Their Properties

A subgroup H is called ?-supplemented in a finite group G, if there exists a subgroup B of G such that G = HB and H ₁ B is a proper subgroup of G for any maximal subgroup H ₁ of H. In this article, we investigate the influence of ?-supplementation of some primary subgroups in finite groups. Some new results about supersolvable groups and formation are obtained.     

On SS-quasinormal subgroups and the structure of finite groups

A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be an SS-quasinormal subgroup of G if there is a subgroup B of G such that G = HB and H permutes with every Sylow subgroup of B. In this paper, we investigate the structure of a group under the assumption that every subgroup with order pm of a Sylow p-subgroup P of G is SS-quasinormal in G for a fixed positive integer m. Some interesting results related to the p-nilpotency and supersolvability of a finite group are obtained. For example, we prove that G is p-nilpo...

On Solvability of Finite Groups with Few Non-Normal Subgroups

For a finite group G, let v(G) denote the number of conjugacy classes of non-normal subgroups of G and vc(G) denote the number of conjugacy classes of non-normal noncyclic subgroups of G. In this paper, we show that every finite group G satisfying v(G) ≤2|π(G)| or vc(G) ≤ |π(G)| is solvable, and for a finite nonsolvable group G, v(G) = 2|π(G)| +1 if and only if G ? A ₅.

A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be CAP-embedded subgroup of G if, for each prime p dividing the order of H, there exists a CAP-subgroup K of G such that a Sylow p-subgroup of H is also a Sylow p-subgroup of K. In this paper some new results are obtained based on the assumption that some subgroups of prime power order have the CAP-embedded property in the group.     

On Influence of Contranormal Subgroups on the Structure of Infinite Groups

Following Rose, a subgroup H of a group G is called contranormal, if G = H ^G . In certain sense, contranormal subgroups are antipodes to subnormal subgroups. It is well known that a finite group is nilpotent if and only if it has no proper contranormal subgroups. However, for the infinite groups this criterion is not valid. There are examples of non-nilpotent infinite groups whose subgroups are subnormal; in paricular, these groups have no contranormal subgroups. Nevertheless, for some classes of infinite groups, the absence of contranormal subgroups implies the nilpotency of the group. The current article is devoted to the search of such classes. Some new criteria of nilpotency in certain classes of infinite groups have been established.

Groups with a Maximal Irredundant 6-Cover

ABSTRACT

A cover for a group G is a collection of proper subgroups whose union is the whole group G. A cover is irredundant if no proper sub-collection is also a cover, and is called maximal if all its members are maximal subgroups. For an integer n > 2, a cover with n members is called an n-cover. Also, we denote σ (G) = n if G has an n-cover and does not have any m-cover for each integer m < n. In this article, we completely characterize groups with a maximal irredundant 6-cover with core-free intersection. As an application of this result, we characterize the groups G with σ (G) = 6. The intersection of an irredundant n-cover is known to have index bounded by a function of n, though in general the precise bound is not known. We also prove that the exact bound is 36 when n is 6.

On SS-Quasinormal Subgroups of Finite Groups

A subgroup of a group G is said to be Sylow-quasinormal (S-quasinormal) in G if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G. A subgroup H of a group G is said to be Supplement-Sylow-quasinormal (SS-quasinormal) in G if there is a supplement B of H to G such that H is permutable with every Sylow subgroup of B. In this article, we investigate the influence of SS-quasinormal of maximal or minimal subgroups of Sylow subgroups of the generalized Fitting subgroup of a finite group.
