In this paper we extend Jones's analysis of the diffractionof sound in three dimensions by a semi-infinite plane with aplane vortex sheet attached in the two cases when the wave equationis in the form for still air and when convection is present.It is found that in so far as the moving medium is concernedthe imposition or otherwise of the Kutta-Joukowski conditiondoes not have much influence on the scattered field away fromthe diffracting plane; when the source is near the edge thefield has the same directionality and order of magnitude. Onthe other hand, near the wake the Kutta-Joukowski conditionproduces a much stronger field than elsewhere even when thesource is not near the edge. We also conclude that the samephenomenon occurs for arbitrary sources and not just for theline source discussed by Jones.  相似文献

A method has been developed, based on the random field theory, for the calculation of the elastic properties of reinforced media. The solution is obtained in the form of an operator series, each term of which is based on the formal component of the second derivative of Green's tensor of incompatibility equations. The zero (singular) approximation of such a series takes into account the local part of interactions between the inhomogeneity grains. The singular approximation was used to calculate the elasticity moduli of unidirectionl reinforced materials.Moscow Institute of Electronics. The method of invariant imbedding has been used to resolve the solution of linear two-point boundary-value problems into contributions associated with the homogeneous equation with homogeneous boundary conditions, with inhomogeneous boundary conditions, and with an inhomogeneous source term in the equation. The relationship between the Green's function and the invariant imbedding equations is described, and it is shown that the Green's function can be determined from an initial-value problem. Several numerical examples are given which illustrate the efficacy of the initial-value algorithm.This work was supported by the US Atomic Energy Commission.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the smoothness of the solutions to the volume singular integrodifferential equations for the electric field to which the problem of electromagnetic-wave diffraction by a local inhomogeneous bounded dielectric body is reduced. The basic tool of the study is the method of pseudo-differential operators in Sobolev spaces. The theory of elliptic boundary problems and field-matching problems is also applied. It is proven that, for smooth data of the problem, the solution from the space of square-summable functions is continuous up to the boundaries and smooth inside and outside of the body. The results on the smoothness of the solutions to the volume singular integro-differential equation for the electric field make it possible to resolve the issues on the equivalence of the boundary value problem and the equation.  相似文献

The Dirichlet problem in arbitrary domain for degenerate and singular anisotropic parabolic equations with a nonlinear source term is considered. We consider a mixed problem of plane isotropic elasticity in a half-plane in which the displacement vector and the normal component of the stress tensor are alternately specified on successive intervals of the real axis. We derive a closed-form expression for the solution of this problem, which is similar to the well-known Keldysh–Sedov formula for the half-plane.  相似文献

In this paper we study two solution methods for finding the largest eigenvalue (singular value) of general square (rectangular) nonnegative tensors. For a positive tensor, one can find the largest eigenvalue (singular value) based on the properties of the positive tensor and the power-type method. While for a general nonnegative tensor, we use a series of decreasing positive perturbations of the original tensor and repeatedly recall power-type method for finding the largest eigenvalue (singular value) of a positive tensor with an inexact strategy. We prove the convergence of the method for the general nonnegative tensor. Under a certain assumption, the computing complexity of the method is established. Motivated by the interior-point method for the convex optimization, we put forward a one-step inner iteration power-type method, whose convergence is also established under certain assumption. Additionally, by using embedding technique, we show the relationship between the singular values of the rectangular tensor and the eigenvalues of related square tensor, which suggests another way for finding the largest singular value of nonnegative rectangular tensor besides direct power-type method for this problem. Finally, numerical examples of our algorithms are reported, which demonstrate the convergence behaviors of our methods and show that the algorithms presented are promising.  相似文献

应用关于压电材料的Stroh方法以及Fourier分析和奇异积分方程技术,研究了压电体光滑接触界面有局部分离时的滑移脉冲波传播问题,分析了其存在的判据.压电体由单向压应力作用而光滑接触并处于一定强度的电场中.待求问题最终转化为含Cauchy核的奇异积分方程组,并给出其解析解.数值计算结果表明:光滑接触界面上有局部分离的滑移脉冲波普遍存在,且界面法向面力和法向电位移在局部分离区两端有奇异性;对某些特殊的材料组合,外载荷不影响滑移脉冲波的存在性.  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of optimizing the institutional advertising expenditure for a firm which produces two products. The problem is formulated as a minimum-time control problem for the dynamics of an extended Vidale-Wolfe advertising model, the optimal control being the rate of institutional advertising that minimizes the time to attain the specified target market shares for the two products. The attainable set and the optimal control are obtained by applying the recent theory developed by Hermes and Haynes extending the Green's theorem approach to higher dimensions. It is shown that the optimal control is a strict bang-bang control. An interesting side result is that the singular arc obtained by the Green's theorem application turns out to be a maximum-time solution over the set of all feasible controls. The result clarifies the connection between the Green's theorem approach and the maximum principle approach.  相似文献

This paper deals with a thermal stress problem for contacting half-spaces of different materials having an inclusion of other material. With the aid of the contact tensor of two half spaces the problem is reduced to singular integral equations. Some new theorems on potentials with the contact tensor are used. Finally, a potential of the double layer with the contact tensor in the kernel and a singular integral operator, being the direct value of the potential, are calculated. For this a Kupradze method is applied, interpreting this potential as a solution of a contact problem of elastostatics. Some numerical experiments are communicated.  相似文献

We find closed-form formulas for the solution of the simplest singular integral equation with Cauchy kernel on the real axis and use them to reduce the full singular integral equation considered in the paper to a Fredholm equation. We consider the tensorized operator for the Maxwell cavity source problem in frequency domain. Such formulations occur when computing statistical moments of the fields under a stochastic volume excitation. We establish a discrete inf-sup condition for its Ritz-Galerkin discretization on sparse tensor product edge element spaces built on nested sequences of meshes. Our main tool is a generalization of the edge element Fortin projector to a tensor product setting. The techniques extend to the surface boundary edge element discretization of tensorized electric field integral equation operators.  相似文献

We consider an elliptic partial differential equation with input function inH -1. We assume that the type of singular part of solution is known and the solution is expressed as a sum of regular and singular term. We use a cut-off function to isolate the singular part and pose a variational problem to find the regular part of the solution. We propose an analytic method of determining all the components of the residual stress tensor in optic fibers. The method is based on solving a plane problem for a cylindrical structure with singular stresses. We obtain closed-form solutions of the problem in the case of a piecewise-constant distribution of free deformations that model the presence of inclusions in the fiber with different values of the thermal coefficient of expansion. We also consider inclusions with cross sections in the shape of a circle, a central ellipse and a central annular sector. Real rectangular tensors arise from the strong ellipticity condition problem in solid mechanics and the entanglement problem in quantum physics. In this paper, we systematically study properties of singular values of a real rectangular tensor, and give an algorithm to find the largest singular value of a nonnegative rectangular tensor. Electromagnetic fields, excited by an electric phased line sourcein the presence of an infinite dielectric wedge, are determinedby application of the Kontorovich–Lebedev transform. TheMaxwell's equations together with the conditions of continuityof the tangential field components at the material interfacesare formulated as a vector boundary-value problem. By representingthe field components as Kontorovich–Lebedev integrals,the problem is reduced to a system of singular integral equationsfor the unknown spectral functions. We construct numerical solutionsto those equations that permit fields evaluation for valuesof the wedge refractive index, not necessarily close to unity,and for arbitrary positioned source and observer.
