This paper is concerned with a doubly degenerate parabolic equation with logistic periodic sources. We are interested in the discussion of the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the initial-boundary value problem. In this paper, we first establish the existence of non-trivial nonnegative periodic solutions by a monotonicity method. Then by using the Moser iterative method, we obtain an a priori upper bound of the nonnegative periodic solutions, by means of which we show the existence of the maximum periodic solution and asymptotic bounds of the nonnegative solutions of the initial-boundary value problem. We also prove that the support of the non-trivial nonnegative periodic solution is independent of time.  相似文献

The dynamics of gaseous stars is often described by magnetic fields coupled to self-gravitation and radiation effects. In this paper we consider an initial-boundary value problem for nonlinear planar magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) in the case that the effect of self-gravitation as well as the influence of radiation on the dynamics at high temperature regimes are taken into account. Based on the fundamental local existence results and global-in-time a priori estimates, we establish the global existence of a unique classical solution with large initial data to the initial-boundary value problem under quite general assumptions on the heat conductivity.  相似文献

We consider the initial-boundary value problem on a half-line for the KdV equation with Landau damping. We study traditionally important problems of the theory of nonlinear partial differential equations, such as global in time existence of solutions to the initial-boundary value problem and the asymptotic behavior of solutions for large time.  相似文献

This work investigates the existence of globally Lipschitz continuous solutions to a class of initial-boundary value problem of quasilinear wave equations. Applying the Lax's method and generalized Glimm's method, we construct the approximate solutions of initial-boundary Riemann problem near the boundary layer and perturbed Riemann problem away from the boundary layer. By showing the weak convergence of residuals for the approximate solutions, we establish the global existence for the derivatives of solutions and obtain the existence of global Lipschitz continuous solutions of the problem.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with theoretical analysis of the initial-boundary value problem for the dual porosity model of Darcian flows with the Preisach hysteresis operator. Due to the presence of the so-called unilateral boundary condition, the problem comes as an evolution variational inequality. We apply the penalty method to prove the global-in-time existence of the variational solution by constructing approximate solutions satisfying suitable energy type estimates.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the initial-boundary value problem for the three-dimensional viscous primitive equations of large-scale moist atmosphere which are used to describe the turbulent behavior of long-term weather prediction and climate changes. By obtaining the existence and uniqueness of global strong solutions for the problem and studying the long-time behavior of strong solutions, we prove the existence of the universal attractor for the dynamical system generated by the primitive equations of large-scale moist atmosphere.  相似文献

In this paper we deal with the mixed initial-boundary value problem of Dirichlet type for the nonlinear elastodynamic system outside a domain. The local existence of solutions to this problem is proved by iteration.  相似文献

In this paper we provide a generalized version of the Glimm scheme to establish the global existence of weak solutions to the initial-boundary value problem of 2×2 hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with source terms. We extend the methods in [J.B. Goodman, Initial boundary value problem for hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, Ph.D. Dissertation, Stanford University, 1982; J.M. Hong, An extension of Glimm’s method to inhomogeneous strictly hyperbolic systems of conservation laws by “weaker than weak” solutions of the Riemann problem, J. Differential Equations 222 (2006) 515-549] to construct the approximate solutions of Riemann and boundary Riemann problems, which can be adopted as the building block of approximate solutions for our initial-boundary value problem. By extending the results in [J. Glimm, Solutions in the large for nonlinear hyperbolic systems of equations, Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 18 (1965) 697-715] and showing the weak convergence of residuals, we obtain stability and consistency of the scheme.  相似文献

We prove that the Cº boundedness of solution implies the global existence and uniqueness of C¹ solution to the initial-boundary value problem for linearly degenerate quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with nonlinear boundary conditions. Thus, if the C¹ solution to the initial-boundary value problem blows up in a finite time, then the solution itself must tend to the infinity at the starting point of singularity.  相似文献

The global weak solution of an initial-boundary value problem for a compressible non-Newtonian fluid is studied in a three-dimensional bounded domain. By the techniques of artificial pressure, a solution to the initial-boundary value problem is constructed through an approximation scheme and a weak convergence method. The existence of a global weak solution to the three-dimensional compressible non-Newtonian fluid with vacuum and large data is established.  相似文献

This article is concerned with an initial-boundary value problem for an elliptic-parabolic coupled system arising in martensitic phase transition theory of elastically deformable solid materials, e.g., steel. This model was proposed in Alber and Zhu (2007) [4], and investigated in Alber and Zhu (2006) [3] the existence of weak solutions which are defined in a standard way, however the key technique used in Alber and Zhu (2006) [3] is not applicable to multi-dimensional problem. One of the motivations of this study is to solve this multi-dimensional problem, and another is to investigate the sharp interface limits. Thus we define weak solutions in a way, which is different from Alber and Zhu (2006) [3], by using the notion of viscosity solution. We do prove successfully the existence of weak solutions in this sense for one-dimensional problem, yet the multi-dimensional problem is still open.  相似文献

In this paper we study a prey-predator model defined by an initial-boundary value problem whose dynamics is described by a Holling type III functional response. We establish global existence and uniqueness of the strong solution. We prove that if the initial data are positive and satisfy a certain regularity condition, the solution of the problem is positive and bounded on the domain and then we deduce the continuous dependence on the initial data. A numerical approximation of the system is carried out with a spectral method coupled with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta time solver. The biological relevance of the comparative numerical results is also presented.  相似文献

The admissibility of the initial-boundary data, which characterizes the existence of solution for the initial-boundary value problem,is important.Based on the Fokas method and the inverse scattering transformation,an approach is developed to solve the initial-boundary value problem of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation on a finite interval.A necessary and sufficient condition for the admissibility of the initial-boundary data is given, and the reconstruction of the potential is obtained.  相似文献

We consider an initial-boundary value problem for the heat equation with a nonlocal two-point boundary condition containing a parameter. By separating the variables in an auxiliary function system, we construct a regular solution. We obtain sufficient conditions for the absolute and uniform convergence of the series in the auxiliary system. We prove conditions close to necessary ones for the existence of a regular solution of the initial-boundary value problem.  相似文献

We study the problem on small motions of ideal stratified fluid with a free surface, partially covered by crumbling ice. By the method of orthogonal projecting the boundary conditions on the moving surface and, with the help of investigation of some auxiliary problems, the original initial-boundary value problem is reduced to the equivalent Cauchy problem for a second order differential equation in a Hilbert space. We find sufficient existence conditions for existence of a strong (with respect to the time variable) solution to the initial-boundary value problem describing evolution of the specified hydrodynamics system.  相似文献

We consider a conserved phase-field system coupling two nonlinear hyperbolic integro-differential equations. The model results from the assumption that the material undergoing phase transition exhibits some thermal memory effects (cf. [15]) and that the response of the order parameter to the variation of the free-energy functional is delayed (cf. [10, 23]). We prove the existence of the solution to the corresponding initial-boundary value problem associated with the resulting PDE system and a (conditioned) continuous dependence estimate of the solution with respect to the data of the problem. This work deals with the study of an initial-boundary value problem in linear theory of thermo-viscoelastic dielectrics. A variational formulation of this problem is provided and the existence of its solution is proved by an auxiliary Faedo-Galerkin scheme. Finally, the uniqueness of the solution is obtained as a corollary of the existence proof.  相似文献

A multi-dimensional parabolic first initial-boundary value problem with a concentrated nonlinear source is studied. A criterion for its solution to quench, in a finite time tq, everywhere on the concentrated nonlinear source only is given. An upper bound for tq is also deduced. For illustration, an example is given.  相似文献
