A subgroup is called c-semipermutable in G if A has a minimal supplement T in G such that for every subgroup T 1 of T there is an element xT satisfying AT 1 x = T 1 x A. We obtain a few results about the c-semipermutable subgroups and use them to determine the structures of some finite groups.  相似文献

If H is a subgroup of a finite group G then we denote the normal closure of H in G by H G . We call G a PE-group if every minimal subgroup X of G satisfies N G (X) ∩ X G = X. The authors classify the finite non-PE-groups whose maximal subgroups of even order are PE-groups.  相似文献

A condition for the solvability of finite groups   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
A subgroup H is called ?-supplemented in a finite group G, if there exists a subgroup B of G such that G = HB and H 1 B is a proper subgroup of G for every maximal subgroup H 1 of H. We investigate the influence of ?-supplementation of Sylow subgroups and obtain a condition for solvability and p-supersolvability of finite groups.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group, and let A be a proper subgroup of G. Then any chief factor H/A G of G is called a G-boundary factor of A. For any Gboundary factor H/A G of A, the subgroup (AH)/A G of G/ A G is called a G-trace of A. In this paper, we prove that G is p-soluble if and only if every maximal chain of G of length 2 contains a proper subgroup M of G such that either some G-trace of M is subnormal or every G-boundary factor of M is a p′-group. This result give a positive answer to a recent open problem of Guo and Skiba. We also give some new characterizations of p-hypercyclically embedded subgroups.  相似文献

A group G is called a CI-group provided that the existence of some automorphism σ ∈ Aut(G) such that σ(A) = B follows from an isomorphism Cay(G, A) ? = Cay (G, B) between Cayley graphs, where A and B are two systems of generators for G. We prove that every finitely generated abelian group is a CI-group.  相似文献

A subgroup H of a group G is called µ-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K such that G = HK and H 1 K is a proper subgroup in G for every maximal subgroup H 1 in H. For the initial values of p, we establish the p-supersolubility of a finite group with a μ-supplemented Sylow p-subgroup.  相似文献

Let A be a k-algebra and G be a group acting on A. We show that G also acts on the Hochschild cohomology algebra HH (A) and that there is a monomorphism of rings HH (A) G HH (A[G]). That allows us to show the existence of a monomorphism from HH (Ã) G into HH (A), where à is a Galois covering with group G.  相似文献

We conjecture that every infinite group G can be partitioned into countably many cells \(G = \bigcup\limits_{n \in \omega } {A_n }\) such that cov(A n A n ?1 ) = |G| for each nω Here cov(A) = min{|X|: X} ? G, G = X A}. We confirm this conjecture for each group of regular cardinality and for some groups (in particular, Abelian) of an arbitrary cardinality.  相似文献

A non-empty subset A of X=X 1×???×X d is a (proper) box if A=A 1×???×A d and A i ?X i for each i. Suppose that for each pair of boxes A, B and each i, one can only know which of the three states takes place: A i =B i , A i =X i ?B i , A i ?{B i ,X i ?B i }. Let F and G be two systems of disjoint boxes. Can one decide whether ∪F=∪G? In general, the answer is ‘no’, but as is shown in the paper, it is ‘yes’ if both systems consist of pairwise dichotomous boxes. (Boxes A, B are dichotomous if there is i such that A i =X i ?B i .) Several criteria that enable to compare such systems are collected. The paper includes also rigidity results, which say what assumptions have to be imposed on F to ensure that ∪F=∪G implies F=G. As an application, the rigidity conjecture for 2-extremal cube tilings of Lagarias and Shor is verified.  相似文献

In algebraic topology it is well known that, using the Mayer–Vietoris sequence, the homology of a space X can be studied by splitting X into subspaces A and B and computing the homology of A, B, and AB. A natural question is: To what extent does persistent homology benefit from a similar property? In this paper we show that persistent homology has a Mayer–Vietoris sequence that is generally not exact but only of order 2. However, we obtain a Mayer–Vietoris formula involving the ranks of the persistent homology groups of X, A, B, and AB plus three extra terms. This implies that persistent homological features of A and B can be found either as persistent homological features of X or of AB. As an application of this result, we show that persistence diagrams are able to recognize an occluded shape by showing a common subset of points.  相似文献

In this work we obtain sufficient conditions for stabilizability by time-delayed feedback controls for the system
$\frac{{\partial w\left( {x,t} \right)}}{{\partial t}} = A(D_x )w(x,t) - A(D_x )u(x,t), x \in \mathbb{R}^n , t > h, $
where D x =(-i?/?x 1,...-i?/?x n ), A(σ) and B(σ) are polynomial matrices (m×m), det B(σ)≡0 on ? n , w is an unknown function, u(·,t)=P(D x )w(·,t?h) is a control, h>0. Here P is an infinite differentiable matrix (m×m), and the norm of each of its derivatives does not exceed Γ(1+|σ|2)γ for some Γ, γ∈? depending on the order of this derivative. Necessary conditions for stabilizability of this system are also obtained. In particular, we study the stabilizability problem for the systems corresponding to the telegraph equation, the wave equation, the heat equation, the Schrödinger equation and another model equation. To obtain these results we use the Fourier transform method, the Lojasiewicz inequality and the Tarski—Seidenberg theorem and its corollaries. To choose an appropriate P and stabilize this system, we also prove some estimates of the real parts of the zeros of the quasipolynomial det {Iλ-A(σ)+B(σ)P(σ)e -hλ.

For drifted Brownian motion X(t) = x-µ t + B t (µ > 0) starting from x > 0, we study the joint distribution of the first-passage time below zero ,t(x), and the first-passage area ,A(x), swept out by X till the time t(x). In particular, we establish differential equations with boundary conditions for the joint moments E[t(x) m A(x) n ], and we present an algorithm to find recursively them, for any m and n. Finally, the expected value of the time average of X till the time t(x) is obtained.  相似文献

Consider some finite group G and a finite subgroup H of G. Say that H is c-quasinormal in G if G has a quasinormal subgroup T such that HT = G and TH is quasinormal in G. Given a noncyclic Sylow subgroup P of G, we fix some subgroup D such that 1 < |D| < | P| and study the structure of G under the assumption that all subgroups H of P of the same order as D, having no supersolvable supplement in G, are c-quasinormal in G.  相似文献

In this paper LJ-spaces are introduced and studied. They are a common generalization of Lindelöf spaces and J-spaces researched by E. Michael. A space X is called an LJ-space if, whenever {A, B} is a closed cover of X with AB compact, then A or B is Lindelöf. Semi-strong LJ-spaces and strong LJ-spaces are also defined and investigated. It is demonstrated that the three spaces are different and have interesting properties and behaviors.  相似文献

Let ? be a subgroup-closed saturated formation. A finite group G is called an ?pc-group provided that each subgroup X of G is ?-subabnormal in the ?-subnormal closure of X in G. Let ?pc be the class of all ?pc-groups. We study some properties of ? pc-groups and describe the structure of ?pc-groups when ? is the class of all soluble π-closed groups, where π is a given nonempty set of prime numbers.  相似文献

Let T t : XX be a C 0-semigroup with generator A. We prove that if the abscissa of uniform boundedness of the resolvent s 0(A) is greater than zero then for each nondecreasing function h(s): ?+R + there are x′X′ and xX satisfying ∫ 0 h(|〈x′, T x x〉|)dt = ∞. If i? ∩ Sp(A) ≠ Ø then such x may be taken in D(A ).  相似文献

The normalizer of each Sylow subgroup of a finite group G has a nilpotent Hall supplement in G if and only if G is soluble and every tri-primary Hall subgroup H (if exists) of G satisfies either of the following two statements: (i) H has a nilpotent bi-primary Hall subgroup; (ii) Let π(H) = {p, q, r}. Then there exist Sylow p-, q-, r-subgroups H p , H q , and H r of H such that H q ? N H (H p ), H r ? N H (H q ), and H p ? N H (H r ).  相似文献

Let G be a simple algebraic group of adjoint type over the field \(\mathbb {C}\) of complex numbers. Let B be a Borel subgroup of G containing a maximal torus T of G. Let w be an element of the Weyl group W and let X(w) be the Schubert variety in G/B corresponding to w. Let α 0 denote the highest root of G with respect to T and B. Let P be the stabiliser of X(w) in G. In this paper, we prove that if G is simply laced and X(w) is smooth, then the connected component of the automorphism group of X(w) containing the identity automorphism equals P if and only if w ?1(α 0) is a negative root (see Theorem 4.2). We prove a partial result in the non simply laced case (see Theorem 6.6).  相似文献

Let G be a nonabelian group, and associate the noncommuting graph ?(G) with G as follows: the vertex set of ?(G) is G\Z(G) with two vertices x and y joined by an edge whenever the commutator of x and y is not the identity. Let S 4(q) be the projective symplectic simple group, where q is a prime power. We prove that if G is a group with ?(G) ? ?(S 4(q)) then G ? S 4(q).  相似文献
