Convergence Theorems for Pointwise Asymptotically Strict Pseudo-Contractions in Hilbert Spaces

A new class of contractive mappings called pointwise asymptotically ?-strict pseudo-contractions in Hilbert spaces is introduced and weak convergence of the sequence generated by Mann's iterative scheme to a fixed point of a uniformly Lipschitzian and pointwise asymptotically ?-strict pseudo-contractive mapping T in a Hilbert space is established. Also, a new kind of monotone hybrid method which is a modification of Mann's iterative scheme for finding a common fixed point of an infinitely countable family of uniformly Lipschitzian and pointwise asymptotically ?-strict pseudo-contractive mappings is proposed. Strong convergence of the sequence generated by the proposedmonotone hybrid method for an infinitely countable family of uniformly Lipschitzian and pointwise asymptotically ?-strict pseudo-contractive mappings in a Hilbert space is also shown. The results presented in this article extend and improve some known results in the literature.     

ON APPROXIMATION PROPERTIES OF NON-CONVOLUTION TYPE NONLINEAR INTEGRAL OPERATORS-Dedicated to Professor Paul L. Butzer on his 80th Birthday

In the present paper we state some approximation theorems concerning point- wise convergence and its rate for a class of non-convolution type nonlinear integral opera- tors of the form：Tλ（f;x）=B∫AKλ（t,x,f（t））dr,x∈〈a,b〉λλA.In particular, we obtain the pointwise convergence and its rate at some characteristic points x0 off as （x,λ） → （x0, λ0） in LI 〈A,B 〉, where 〈 a,b 〉 and 〈A,B 〉 are is an arbitrary intervals in R, A is a non-empty set of indices with a topology and X0 an accumulation point of A in this topology. The results of the present paper generalize several ones obtained previously in the papers [191-[23]     

Optimal decay rates and small global solutions to the dissipative Boussinesq equation

This work is devoted to the small amplitude solutions for the initial value problem of the multidimensional dissipative Boussinesq equation. We firstly derive the pointwise estimates of the fundamental solutions by the energy method in the Fourier space. We give the asymptotic profiles of solutions to the corresponding linear problem to get the optimal decay rate for the -norm of solutions in all space dimensions. Under smallness assumptions on the initial data, we study the global existence and uniqueness of solutions by the contractive mapping principle in the solution spaces with time weighted norm.     

H（2）-unknotting Number of a Knot

An H（2）-move is a local move of a knot which is performed by adding a half-twisted band. It is known an H（2）-move is an unknotting operation. We define the H（2）-unknotting number of a knot K to be the minimum number of H（2）-moves needed to transform K into a trivial knot. We give several methods to estimate the H（2）-unknotting number of a knot. Then we give tables of H（2）-unknotting numbers of knots with up to 9 crossings.     

FIXED POINTS FOR WEAKLY INWARD MAPPINGS IN BANACH SPACES （II）

S. Hu and Y. Sun[1] defined the fixed point index for weakly inward mappings, investigated its properties and studied fixed points for such mappings. In this paper, following S. Hu and Y. Sun, we further investigate boundary conditions, under which the fixed point index for i（A, Ω, p） is equal to nonzero, where i（A, Ω, p） is the completely continuous and weakly inward mapping. Correspondingly, we can obtain many new fixed point theorems of the completely continuous and weakly inward mapping, which generalize some famous theorems such as Rothe＇s theorem, Altman＇s theorem, Petryshyn＇s theorem etc. in the case of weakly inward mappings. In addition, our conclusions extend the famous fixed point theorem of cone expansion and compression to the case of weakly inward mappings. Moreover, the main results contain and generalize the corresponding results in the recent work[2].     

BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM FOR NON-LINEAR SECOND ORDER ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION WITH DISCONTINUOUS TERMS IN BANACH SPACE

By using upper and lower solutions and fixed point theorem we give the existence theorem of non-linear second order ordinary differential equation with discontinuous terms in Banach Space.     

Least number of periodic points of self-maps of Lie groups

There are two algebraic lower bounds of the number of n-periodic points of a self-map f :M → M of a compact smooth manifold of dimension at least 3:N Fn(f) = min{#Fix(gn); g ～f; g is continuous} and N J Dn(f) = min{#Fix(gn); g ～ f; g is smooth}.In general,N J Dn(f) may be much greater than N Fn(f).If M is a torus,then the invariants are equal.We show that for a self-map of a nonabelian compact Lie group,with free fundamental group,the equality holds  all eigenvalues of a quotient cohomology homomorphism induced by f have moduli ≤ 1.     

Strong Convergence of an Implicit Iteration Process for a Finite Family of Asymptotically Ф-pseudocontractive Mappings

Strong convergence theorems for approximation of common fixed points of asymptotically Ф-quasi-pseudocontractive mappings and asymptotically C-strictly- pseudocontractive mappings are proved in real Banach spaces by using a new composite implicit iteration scheme with errors. The results presented in this paper extend and improve the main results of Sun, Gu and Osilike published on J. Math. Anal. Appl.     

Fixed Point Theory for 1-Set Weakly Contractive Operators in Banach Spaces

In this work, using an analogue of Sadovskii＇s fixed point result and several important inequalities we investigate and give new existence theorems for the nonlinear operator equation F（x） =μx, （μ≥1） for some weakly sequentially continuous, weakly condensing and weakly 1-set weakly contractive operators with different boundary conditions. Correspondingly, we can obtain some applicable fixed point theorems of Leray-Schauder, Altman and Furi-Pera types in the weak topology setting which generalize and improve the corresponding results of [3,15,16].     

Generalized I-Contractions and Pointwise R-Subweakly Commuting Maps

The existence of common fixed points and invariant approximations for pointwise R- subweakly commuting and compatible maps is established. Our results unify and generalize various known results to a more general class of noncommuting mappings.     

Common Fixed Points for a Countable Family of Quasi-Contractive Mappings on a Cone Metric Space with the Convex Structure

In this paper, we consider a countable family of surjective mappings {Tn}n∈N satisfying certain quasi-contractive conditions. We also construct a convergent sequence { Xn } n c∈Nby the quasi-contractive conditions of { Tn } n ∈N and the boundary condition of a given complete and closed subset of a cone metric space X with convex structure, and then prove that the unique limit x＂ of {xn}n∈N is the unique common fixed point of {Tn}n∈N. Finally, we will give more generalized common fixed point theorem for mappings {Ti,j}i,j∈N. The main theorems in this paper generalize and improve many known common fixed point theorems for a finite or countable family of mappings with quasi-contractive conditions.     

POINTWISE MULTIPLIERS FOR LOCALIZED MORREY-CAMPANATO SPACES ON RD-SPACES

In this article, the authors characterize pointwise multipliers for localized MorreyCampanato spaces, associated with some admissible functions on RD-spaces, which include localized BMO spaces as a special case. The results obtained are applied to Schrdinger operators and some Laguerre operators.     

AN EXTRAGRADIENT METHOD FOR RELAXED COCOERCIVE VARIATIONAL INEQUALITY AND EQUILIBRIUM PROBLEMS

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the problem of finding the common element of the set of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings, the set of an equilibrium problem and the set of solutions of the variational inequality prob- lem for a relaxed cocoercive and Lipschitz continuous mapping in Hilbert spaces. Then, we show that the sequence converges strongly to a common element of the above three sets under some parameter controlling conditions, which are connected with Yao, Liou, Yao[17], Takahashi[12] and many others.     

Affine Hypersurfaces Admitting a Pointwise SO(n − 1) Symmetry

In this article we obtain a classification of strictly locally convex affine hypersurfaces in ${\mathbb{A}^{n+1}}$ for which the geometrical structure is pointwise invariant under the group SO(n ? 1) represented by rotations around a fixed axis in the tangent space. This generalises the results obtained by Lu and Scharlach (Results Math 48:275–300, 2005) for n =  3.     

Unique common fixed point of a family of self-maps with same type contractive condition in 2-metric space

In this paper, we prove that a family of self-maps {Ti,j}i,j∈N in 2-metric space has a unique common fixed point if (i) {Ti,j}i,j∈N satisfies the same type contractive condition for each j ∈ N; (ii) Tm,μ· Tn,ν = Tn,ν· Tm,μ for all m,n,μ,ν∈ N with μ = ν. Our main result generalizes and improves many known unique common fixed point theorems in 2-metric spaces.     

Differential inequalities, normality and quasi-normality

We prove that ifD is a domain in C,α 〉 1 and C 〉 0,then the family F of functions f meromorphic in D such that ｜f′（z）｜/1 ＋ ｜f（z）｜α 〉 C for every z ∈ D is normal in D.For α = 1,the same assumptions imply quasi-normality but not necessarily normality.     

A Fixed Point Theorem and Some Generalized Ky Fan＇s Minimax Inequalities

In this paper, we establish a fixed point theorem for set-valued mapping on a topological vector space without ＂local convexity＂. And we also establish some generalized Ky Fan＇s minimax inequalities for set-value vector mappings, which are the generalization of some previous results.     

Characteristic Function of a Pure Commuting Contractive Tuple

A theorem of Sz.-Nagy and Foias [9] shows that the characteristic function of a completely non-unitary contraction T is a complete unitary invariant for T. In this note we extend this theorem to the case of a pure commuting contractive tuple using a natural generalization of the characteristic function to an operator-valued analytic function defined on the open unit ball of This function is related to the curvature invariant introduced by Arveson [3].

Liouvillian and analytic integrability of the quadratic vector fields having an invariant ellipse

We characterize the Liouvillian and analytic integrability of the quadratic polynomial vector fields in R2 having an invariant ellipse.More precisely,a quadratic system having an invariant ellipse can be written into the form x=x2＋y2-1＋y（ax＋by＋c）,y=x（ax＋by＋c）,and the ellipse becomes x2＋y2=1.We prove that（i） this quadratic system is analytic integrable if and only if a=0;（ii） if x2＋y2=1 is a periodic orbit,then this quadratic system is Liouvillian integrable if and only if x2＋y2=1 is not a limit cycle;and（iii） if x2＋y2=1 is not a periodic orbit,then this quadratic system is Liouvilian integrable if and only if a=0.
