This paper provides methods to decide whether a given analytic function of several complex variables is a linear combination of finitely many given analytic functions with coefficients of the following special form: Each one of these coefficients is a composition of an unknown analytic function of less arguments than the function to be expressed, with fixed analytic functions. Many useful statistics equal the ratio of a possibly noncentral chi-square to a quadratic form in Gaussian variables with all positive weights. Expressing the density and distribution function as positively weighted sums of corresponding F functions has many advantages. The mixture forms have analytic value when embedded within a more complex problem. The mixture forms also have computational value. The expansions work well with quadratic forms having few components and small degrees of freedom. A more general algorithm from earlier literature can take longer or fail to converge in the same setting. Many approximations have been suggested for the problem. A positively weighted noncentral quadratic form can always have two moments matched to a noncentral chi-square. For a single quadratic form, the noncentral form performs neither uniformly more or less accurately than older approximations. The approach also gives a noncentral F approximation for any ratio of a positively weighted noncentral form to a positively weighted central quadratic form. The method provides better accuracy for noncentral ratios than approximations based on a single chi-square. The accuracy suffices for many practical applications, such as power analysis, even with few degrees of freedom. Naturally the approximation proves much faster and simpler to compute than any exact method. Embedding the approximation in analytic expressions provides simple forms which correctly guarantee only positive values have nonzero probabilities, and also automatically reduce to partially or fully exact results when either quadratic form has only one term.  相似文献

An analytic function of several variables is considered. It is assumed that the function vanishes at some point. According to the Weierstrass preparation theorem, in the neighborhood of this point the function can be represented as a product of a nonvanishing analytic function and a polynomial in one of the variables. The coefficients of the polynomial are analytic functions of the remaining variables. In this paper we construct a method for finding the nonvanishing function and the coefficients of the polynomial in the form of Taylor series whose coefficients are found from an explicit recursive procedure using the derivatives of the initial function. As an application, an explicit formula describing a bifurcation diagram locally up to second-order terms is derived for the case of a double root.  相似文献

In this paper we will consider the properties of various stochastic integrals over a complex valued, two parameter Wiener process. Integrals of this type exhibit pleasant features which do not appear within the real framework. They are stable under approximation and viewed in relation with analytic functions, they typically satisfy an ordinary chain rule. In this paper, the order of simultaneous approximation and Voronovskaja-type theorems with quantitative estimate for complex Bernstein–Durrmeyer-type polynomials attached to analytic functions on compact disks are obtained. Our results show that extension of the complex Bernstein–Durrmeyer-type polynomials from real intervals to compact disks in the complex plane extends approximation properties.  相似文献

In this paper two new iterative methods are built up and analyzed. A generalization of the efficiency index used in the scalar case to several variables in iterative methods for solving systems of nonlinear equations is revisited. Analytic proofs of the local order of convergence based on developments of multilineal functions and numerical concepts that will be used to illustrate the analytic results are given. An approximation of the computational order of convergence is computed independently of the knowledge of the root and the necessary time to get one correct decimal is studied in our examples.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze problems involving matrix variables for which we use a noncommutative algebra setting. To be more specific, we use a class of functions (called NC analytic functions) defined by power series in noncommuting variables and evaluate these functions on sets of matrices of all dimensions; we call such situations dimension-free. These types of functions have recently been used in the study of dimension-free linear system engineering problems. In this paper we characterize NC analytic maps that send dimension-free matrix balls to dimension-free matrix balls and carry the boundary to the boundary; such maps we call “NC ball maps”. We find that up to normalization, an NC ball map is the direct sum of the identity map with an NC analytic map of the ball into the ball. That is, “NC ball maps” are very simple, in contrast to the classical result of D'Angelo on such analytic maps in C. Another mathematically natural class of maps carries a variant of the noncommutative distinguished boundary to the boundary, but on these our results are limited. We shall be interested in several types of noncommutative balls, conventional ones, but also balls defined by constraints called Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI). What we do here is a small piece of the bigger puzzle of understanding how LMIs behave with respect to noncommutative change of variables.  相似文献

Given an analytic function of one complex variable f, we investigate the arithmetic nature of the values of f at algebraic points. A typical question is whether f() is a transcendental number for each algebraic number . Since there exist transcendental entire functions f such that for any t0 and any algebraic number , one needs to restrict the situation by adding hypotheses, either on the functions, or on the points, or else on the set of values.

Among the topics we discuss are recent results due to Andrea Surroca on the number of algebraic points where a transcendental analytic function takes algebraic values, new transcendence criteria by Daniel Delbos concerning entire functions of one or several complex variables, and Diophantine properties of special values of polylogarithms.  相似文献

The paper defines and studies a property of functions of several complex variables analytic at the origin which is called local hyperbolicity with respect to a given real direction. For homogeneous polynomials it reduces to ordinary hyperbolicity. Local hyperbolicity is also extended so as to correspond to the hyperbolicity of nonhomogeneous polynomials.  相似文献

Using the fact that the maximal ideals in the polydisk algebra are given by the kernels of point evaluations, we derive a simple formula that gives a solution to the Bézout equation in the space of all entire functions of several complex variables. Thus a short and easy analytic proof of Cartan’s Nullstellensatz is obtained.  相似文献
