We study the existence of a maximal solution of −Δu+g(u)=f(x) in a domain Ω ∈ ℝ N with compact boundary, assuming thatf ∈ (L loc 1 (Ω))+ and thatg is nondecreasing,g(0)≥0 andg satisfies the Keller-Osserman condition. We show that if the boundary satisfies the classicalC 1,2 Wiener criterion, then the maximal solution is a large solution, i.e., it blows up everywhere on the boundary. In addition, we discuss the question of uniqueness of large solutions. Letf andg be nonlinear entire functions. The relations between the dynamics off⊗g andg⊗f are discussed. Denote byℐ (·) andF(·) the Julia and Fatou sets. It is proved that ifzC, thenz∈ℐ8464 (f⊗g) if and only ifg(z)∈ℐ8464 (g⊗f); ifU is a component ofF(fg) andV is the component ofF(gg) that containsg(U), thenU is wandering if and only ifV is wandering; ifU is periodic, then so isV and moreover,V is of the same type according to the classification of periodic components asU. These results are used to show that certain new classes of entire functions do not have wandering domains. We concentrate on the case when the semigroup generated by—A is only equicontinuous and obtain existence of integral solutions if, in particular,X* is uniformly convex andF satisfies β(F(t,B))k(t)β(B) for all boundedBX wherekL 1([0,a]) and β denotes the Hausdorff-measure of noncompactness. Moreover, we show that the set of all solutions is a compactR δ-set in this situation. In general, the extra condition onX* is essential as we show by an example in whichX is not uniformly smooth and the set of all solutions is not compact, but it can be omited ifA is single-valued and continuous or—A generates aC o-semigroup of bounded linear operators. In the simpler case when—A generates a compact semigroup, we give a short proof of existence of solutions, again ifX* is uniformly (or strictly) convex. In this situation we also provide a counter-example in ℝ4 in which no integral solution exists. The existence of positive radial solutions of the equation -din( |Du|p-2Du)=f(u) is studied in annular domains in Rn,n≥2. It is proved that if f(0)≥0, f is somewherenegative in (0,∞), limu→0^ f‘ (u)=0 and limu→∞ (f(u)/u^p-1)=∞, then there is alarge positive radial solution on all annuli. LetM andN be compact riemannian manifolds, andu a stationary harmonic map fromM toN. We prove thatH n−2 (Σ)=0, wheren=dimM and Σ is the singular set ofu. This is a generalization of a result of C. Evans [7], where this is proved in the special caseN is a sphere. We also prove that, ifu is a weakly harmonic map inW 1,n (M, N), thenu is smooth. This extends results of F. This paper extends some recent results of V. Barbu. It is concerned with bounded solutions of the problem:u″∈Au, u′(0)∈ϖj(u(0)−a) whereA is a maximal monotone operator in a Hilbert spaceH, aD(A) andj is a strictly convex l.s.c. function fromH to [0,+∞]. An existence and uniqueness theorem for this problem is proved. Takingj to be the indicator function of a pointu 0D(A), one obtains a bounded solutionu(t) of the initial value problem:u″∈Au, u(0)=u 0. Denotingu(t)=S 1/2(t)u0 one obtains a semi-group of contractions onD(A). The generator of this semigroup is denoted byA 1/2. Further properties ofS 1/2(t) andA 1/2 are studied.   相似文献

In this paper the closed convex hulls of the compact familiesC β(p), of multivalently close to convex functions of order β andV 0 k (p), of multivalent functions of bounded boundary rotation, have been determined, respectively for β≥1 andk≥2(p+1)/p. Extreme points of these convex hulls are partially characterised. For a fixed pointz 0D={z:|z|<1}, a new familyC β(p, z0) is defined through Montel normalisation and its closed convex hull is also foud. Sharp coefficient estimates for functions subordinate to or majorised by some function inC β(p) orC' β(p) are discussed for β>0. It is shown that iff is subordinate to some function inC β(p) then each Taylor coefficient off is dominated by the corresponding coefficient of the function .  相似文献

Summary We define generalized Padé-type approximants to continuous functions on a compact subset Eof Rnsatisfying the Markov's inequality and we show that the Fourier series expansion of a generalized Padé-type approximant to a u C (E ) matches the Fourier series expansion of uas far as possible.
