Some oscillation criteria for a forced mixed type Emden-Fowler equation with impulses are given. When the impulses are dropped, our results extend those of Sun and Meng [Y.G. Sun, F.W. In this work, we give a new stability criterion for planar periodic Hamiltonian systems, improving the results from the literature. The method is based on an application of the Floquet theory recently established in [J.J. DaCunha, J.M. Davis, A unified Floquet theory for discrete, continuous, and hybrid periodic linear systems, J. Differential Equations 251 (2011) 2987–3027], and the use of a new definition for a generalized zero. The results obtained not only unify the related continuous and discrete ones but also provide sharper stability criteria for the discrete case.  相似文献

We study the oscillation problems for the second order half-linear differential equation [p(t)Φ(x)]+q(t)Φ(x)=0, where Φ(u)=|u|r−1u with r>0, 1/p and q are locally integrable on R+; p>0, q?0 a.e. on R+, and . We establish new criteria for this equation to be nonoscillatory and oscillatory, respectively. When p≡1, our results are complete extensions of work by Huang [C. Huang, Oscillation and nonoscillation for second order linear differential equations, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 210 (1997) 712-723] and by Wong [J.S.W. Wong, Remarks on a paper of C. Huang, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 291 (2004) 180-188] on linear equations to the half-linear case for all r>0. These results provide corrections to the wrongly established results in [J. Jiang, Oscillation and nonoscillation for second order quasilinear differential equations, Math. Sci. Res. Hot-Line 4 (6) (2000) 39-47] on nonoscillation when 0<r<1 and on oscillation when r>1. The approach in this paper can also be used to fully extend Elbert's criteria on linear equations to half-linear equations which will cover and improve a partial extension by Yang [X. Yang, Oscillation/nonoscillation criteria for quasilinear differential equations, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 298 (2004) 363-373].  相似文献

The problem of shock reflection by a wedge in the flow dominated by the unsteady potential flow equation is an important problem. In weak regular reflection, the flow behind the reflected shock is immediately supersonic and becomes subsonic further downstream. The reflected shock is transonic. Its position is a free boundary for the unsteady potential equation, which is degenerate at the sonic line in self-similar coordinates. Applying the special partial hodograph transformation used in [Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Transonic shock in a nozzle I, 2-D case, Comm. Pure Appl. Math. LVII (2004) 1-51; Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Transonic shock in a nozzle II, 3-D case, IMS, preprint, 2003], we derive a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with nonlinear boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain. When the angle between incident shock and wedge is small, we can see the weak regular reflection as the disturbance of normal reflection as in [Chen Shuxing, Linear approximation of shock reflection at a wedge with large angle, Comm. Partial Differential Equations 21(78) (1996) 1103-1118]. By linearizing the resulted nonlinear equation and boundary conditions with the above viewpoint in [Chen Shuxing, Linear approximation of shock reflection at a wedge with large angle, Comm. Partial Differential Equations 21(78) (1996) 1103-1118], we obtain a linear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a curved quadrilateral domain. By means of elliptic regularization techniques, a delicate a priori estimate and compact arguments, we show that the solution of the linearized problem is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary.  相似文献

We establish new oscillation criteria for linear Hamiltonian systems using monotone functionals on a suitable matrix space. In doing so we develop new criteria for oscillation involving general monotone functionals instead of the usual largest eigenvalue. Our results are new even in the particular case of self-adjoint second order differential systems.

In this paper, we investigate the exponential stability of discrete-time neural networks with impulses and time-varying delay. The discrete-time neural networks are derived by discretizing the corresponding continuous-time counterparts with different discretization methods. The impulses are classified into three classes: input disturbances, stabilizing and “neutral” type - the impulses are neither helpful for stabilizing nor destabilizing the neural networks, and then by using the excellent ideology introduced recently by Chen and Zheng [W.H. Chen, W.X. Zheng, Global exponential stability of impulsive neural networks with variable delay: an LMI approach, IEEE Trans. Circuits Syst. I 56 (6) (2009) 1248-1259], the connections between the impulses and the utilized Lyapunov function are fully explored with respect to each type of impulse. Novel techniques that used to realize the ideology in discrete-time situation are proposed and it is shown that they are essentially different from the continuous-time case. Several criteria for global exponential stability of the discrete-time neural networks are established in terms of matrix inequalities and based on these theoretical results numerical simulations are given to compare the capability of different discretization methods.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with the value distribution of difference products of entire functions, and present some result on two difference products of entire functions sharing one value with the same multiplicities. The research findings also include an analogue for shift of a well-known conjecture by Brück. Our theorems improve the results of I. Laine and C.C. Yang [I. Laine, C.C. A classical result of Whitney states that each maximal planar graph without separating triangles is Hamiltonian, where a separating triangle is a triangle whose removal separates the graph. Chen [Any maximal planar graph with only one separating triangle is Hamiltonian J. Combin. Optim. 7 (2003) 79-86] proved that any maximal planar graph with only one separating triangle is still Hamiltonian. This paper is concerned with classical solutions to the interaction of two arbitrary planar rarefaction waves for the self-similar Euler equations in two space dimensions. We develop the direct approach, started in Chen and Zheng (in press) [3], to the problem to recover all the properties of the solutions obtained via the hodograph transformation of Li and Zheng (2009) [14]. The direct approach, as opposed to the hodograph transformation, is straightforward and avoids the common difficulties of the hodograph transformation associated with simple waves and boundaries. The approach is made up of various characteristic decompositions of the self-similar Euler equations for the speed of sound and inclination angles of characteristics.  相似文献
